Thank you...I understand a glitch but too coincidental that the glitch would keep one bid as processing and 2 others as expired for the entire length of a business day and then somehow make all 3 bids reappear as pending at the close of business...I could be wrong but almost seems like someone was in a hurry to start their holiday weekend and just never got around to charging my card lolYou have plenty of time for them to get it right :) I hope you win your bid!Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app

Nov 5thNot really that I recall. It's happened a bunch of times tho. I think NCL just says it's a glitch. When is your cruise?Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app

Not sure if anyone has any insight but I'm a little confused...We have bid in the past and won,so not new to this but placed bids for upcoming Jade sailing at the 80 days out when I received the invite..this morning around 5am I noticed that the Let's get you upgraded page was gone from My NCL page so I checked the modify your bid page and to my surprise, one of my bids showed as "processing " and the other 2 "expired " ...I checked periodically throughout the day, waiting to be charged and the bid continued to show as "processing" all day long..then around 5pm est all bids show as "pending" ,almost as if magically at the end of the business day,my bid simply stopped processing without any attempt to charge...Has anyone else had bids go from pending to processing and then back to pending for no reason?

That's strange..I was on breakaway twice last year with drink package and never waited for a drink..of course I tipped bartenders too so maybe that helps lolMy wife's cousin went on the breakaway last fall with the included drink package. He said it took forever to get a drink because of this, never again. The bars were swamped with people trying to get a drink and the bar staff was slow because of this.Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app

NCL offered the cabin up knowing full well that we don't have a need for accessible cabin so if you want to judge, then judge cruise line..apparently according to NCL, able bodied guests can book an accessible cabin after final payment due date or if it is the last remaining cabin in that category type, which it is in this case...might want to do your homeworkIf it looks like a fish and swims like a fish...Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app

Technically the law states "after final payment date or last remaining cabin in a particular category" Exactly how did cruise line not follow law?Technically if the cruise is embarking from a USA port than Carnival Cruise line is in violation of the US Federal Law that went into effect on 1/1/2012 which basically states that accessible cabins cannot be made available for general booking until after the final payment period has past. That anyone booking an accessible cabin prior to the final payment period has to certified that they require the need of the features contained in the Accessible Cabin.Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app

Thank you for your input...I reached out to ncl and was informed that after sailing there is chance that we could be asked, but not forced, to switch cabins and if moved before sailing, being downgraded would be highly unlikely...I didn't agree to take the aft mini suite to get a free upgrade or take anything from a disabled person, but exactly how long is NCL expected to let a cabin go unsold before releasing it to the general public??They offered the switch from midship to aft mini less than a week before final payment date, and I didn't ask for the accessible cabin..I called to pay difference to move to aft suite, which wasn't available due to computer glitch on their end...It was NCL who offered the aft mini suite knowing it was HC accessible...I just don't want my wife or myself getting dirty looks for taking the cabinIt doesn't make you a bad person at all. However, by accepting the move to an accessible cabin you are agreeing, as you said, to being moved if required. That could happen either before or after sailing. There is no guarantee that there will be an "upgrade" available or offered, so if downgraded I am sure NCL would offer you some OBC or fare adjustment.
As I have posted several times, I have been in the unfortunate position of having to "bump" folks out of accessible cabins mid-cruise twice. Both times occurred on Day 2 of the cruise. Once was a automatic balcony door issue (wouldn't close at all) and the other was a plumbing problem that NCL could not readily fix. I am not sure what happened to the original occupants of the accessible cabin(s) I was moved into though.
As long as you are aware of this possibility and are fine with it, I don't see any problems with you taking the aft.

Not to be a jerk but when booking Bliss for 2020,there are literally 2 aft facing mini suites on the entire ship and both are accessible cabins..how is that fair to able bodied guests? If even one of the 2 were available to anyone there wouldn't be any cases of people lying to get the desirable aft facing mini suites..When NCL decided to make both accessible only,it opened the door for dishonesty...We wanted aft for upcoming Jade sailing and only accessible was available so we booked mid ship instead...now a week before final payment our CAS rep contacted us to let us know they could move us to the accessible cabin so we took it...I have no problem moving if necessary and they move us to higher category but I paid more for the aft facing and wont accept a downgrade, and I don't think that makes me a bad person

Kindly stop with the rudeness..I apologize that I posted in wrong place and have simply responded to the kind few who have responded to me..and just fyi on ncl deck plans, the cabins are not marked "accessible " on the key...I wasn't trying to be rude or offensive1. You are in the wrong place! You should be on the NCL forum. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1072. Cabins are not disabled. They are accessible.
3. You know now that this cabin is for people who need its accommodations.

Don't have a lack of integrity imo but seeing as how aft facing are so desirable I don't understand why the ship would only have 2 aft facing mini suites in the first place, let alone making both of them disabled cabins...and my wife never once mentioned anything about needing disabled when booking..she simply stated we wanted aft facing and the CS rep recommended that particular cabin never once mentioning that it was an accessible cabin

Thanks for the info just still don't understand why they suggested the cabin if they are only going to try taking it away lolNCL will send out couple forms stating that room is for person that needs it. Can't remember if it's same week you reserved room or week after. I have copies what they sent me, on Bliss also next yearWheelchair Accessible Stateroom Policies:
• Wheelchairs must be able to navigate through the stateroom door measurements range from 34 in to 36 ½ in (inches) wide.
• Wheelchairs must also be able to navigate The Bathroom door measurements range from 34 ½ in to 36 ½ (inches) wide.
• Motorized wheelchairs and scooters are welcome; however gel-cell batteries must power them. Due to safety regulations,
Norwegian Cruise Line cannot accept any wet cell or acid-battery powered wheelchairs.
• If you have booked a Wheelchair Accessible Stateroom and do not have a disability we may ask you to relocate to another
stateroom in order to accommodate a guest with a disability.
If you have any questions or comments about these policies for Wheelchair Accessible Staterooms , please feel free to contact the
Accessibility Team at 866.584.9756 or email at accessdesk@ncl.com. Again, we're looking forward to having you on board and experiencing
our exclusive Freestyle Cruising[emoji768], where you're free to... whatever.

Call me crazy but I don't get it...wife just called and booked NCL BLISS for cruise in 2020...She told them we were looking for aft facing and rep reccomended 10318 an aft facing mini suite with large balcony...wife was thrilled and made booking..when I checked deckplan, our cabin is listed as disabled,in fact, the only 2 aft facing mini suites on entire ship are listed as disabled...my fear now is we did nothing wrong..we simply followed their recommendation and now I'm reading on cruise critic that we might be bumped from our cabin, even after final payment is made??The only cabin higher or comparable to the 2 aft facing mini suites would be Haven and I'm almost certain that NCL wouldn't move us into Haven to accommodate a last minute HC request..why should I have to tell my wife that she can't have her dream cabin that she is all excited about when she wasn't deceptive about making the booking, and she simply went along with NCL rep's advice?

Not sure...we always prepay and still tip cashI’d love to know the percentage of people that remove the service charge and then go ahead and “tip” an amount equal to or above the amount of the service charge.I’m guessing it’s low, very low. Under 10%.

Smoking is not allowed at all on Escape's waterfront area on deck 8. It was only allowed out there on the transatlantic then stopped after that cruise.
Smoking areas are very limited on Escape and are located in the casino (when open), deck 17 upper pool bar area (high-top tables and a railing area overlooking the pool), Spice H2O, the cigar lounge (inside on deck 8 adjacent to Tobacco Road bar) and if you are in the Haven, there is a smoking area on deck 19 forward).
Tracy
Not sure if it's because homeported in NYC but got off BA in January and you could smoke outside on 8 ashtrays and smokers pole right next to bar, which on escape, would be 5 O'clock somewhere bar..now that Escspe has moved to NYC as well,I wouldn't be surprised if NCL does the same

I am wondering the opposite. I see Haven opportunites to bid on, yet there doesn't appear to be any rooms open, so not sure how they are offering it.
Covering themselves if Haven guest cancels..then that cabin will become available

I am in the same situation as you and when the upgrade email came I wanted to see what was available.
The problem I have is with the minimum bids. For us, we are in a mini suite on deck 11, in most cases the minimum bids for any upgrades were well over $1000 pp (USD) and went up to as much as $4000 pp.
Wow we went from mini suite w large balcony to forward facing haven penthouse and minimum bid was 400pp...highest option was Deluxe Owner Suite with min bid of 1500pp..On Breakaway January 5th
