We saw all forms of dress each night while wandering around the public spaces. Many dressed up formally for the photos on the grand staircase or at the photo studio areas. I don't recall a specific designated formal night as we have had years ago on cruises.

I am still waiting for a refund from NCL from our cruise the first week of June. Time to email again I suppose.
-
Sure. You can buy individual photos. About $25 for an 8x10
This is also what we paid for one photo on Pride of America.

Traffic can be crazy on a Saturday heading to the airport, so plan accordingly.

We took the Atlantis submarine tour the first week of June. It was fun to see the underwater sea life without going snorkeling. The ride was in the morning and pretty smooth.

Which side of the ship has the best viewing?? Thanks!
On the Pride of America earlier this month, it was starboard side. There was an announcement, sailed by at about 9:45 pm and the lights on the ship were turned off and had a great narration of history. There was plenty of time to get to a good spot.

We were on Pride of America at the beginning of June. At each port in Hawaii we had to show photo ID or Passport and ship card before we went back on the ship. If we were on a tour bus, the officers came onto the bus and checked each person's documents. If we were in a taxi cab, they reviewed each persons documents before we were let into the port to the ship. Same if you walked into the port from the outside.

The classes were free! Not many free things onboard. There was also a ribbon lei class that we did not attend. There were kukui nut lei kits that you could purchase afterwards if you wanted to make another one.
Yes, the lei making classes were free. Toward the end of the cruise they were selling kits for all of the leis that were made during the week. I attended the ribbon lei class and though it was challenging at first, I enjoyed it once I got the hang of it.

I am registered with Norwegian's website and have been home almost a week from Pride of America and haven't seen anything. Just had a few issues I wanted to voice.

This happened at night (fortunately) ...
Uhhh, this isn't even the Pride of America!

Just returned from Pride of America cruise. Though it is a relaxed cruise, we saw all sorts of dress. There were several nights with photo opportunities on the grand staircase where folks chose to dress up.

Glad you had a good experience. We were on the same cruise and loved Moderno, but hated La Cucina. Our service was terrible and the food had no taste. I'll post my review in a day or two.

Thanks didn't realize Uber was on all islands!

Just searched the forums and the first two of the recommended taxis are out of business. We want to go from the port in Kahului, Maui to Ma'alaea Harbor for a fishing trip in the early am and need to find transportation. Any recommendations?

That's strange, I can book it for the 7/1 cruise on NCL's website.

Hmmm, which day/port? What is the title? Maybe I missed it, but I just looked again and don't see it!

NCL isn't offering this tour (we are POA on 6/3), but I checked with the tour company directly and they are a cab ride away from the port.We did this tubing adventure tour in May 2016 and had the best time. Also consider the sunrise tour to Haleakala and the biking tour down the volcano.Tubing Adventure
Port: Nawiliwili, Kauai
Witness Kauai's lush flora as you float down a tropical waterway made up of a series of ditches and channels, all of which were engineered and dug by hand in the 1870’s to bring water to the sugar cane fields. Enjoy a relaxing two mile ride in and out of many tunnels that open up to beautiful views. At the end of your adventure, munch on snacks beside a pristine swimming hole.
Note: Participants must be at least 5 years of age, weigh no more than 300 lbs. and be at least 43 inches in height. Not recommended for guests who are claustrophobic, pregnant or those with back problems. Wear a swimsuit and bring a towel. less
Rollover for Details:

Is this the June 3rd cruise? We will be on that and my friend just came back from her POA cruise. Looking forward to it!

A friend recommended this tubing tour. Anyone done it?

Captain Canuck,
Sorry you had the same problem. Alamo's customer service is very poor. They've got the contact information for customers, so sending a mass email is quick and easy. Pity they don't bother. Hope you had a wonderful time on Maui.
I'm curious how a company loses their permit to send a shuttle to the port. I would guess if the loss was because Alamo did not pay a fee in time, that would be straightened out quickly, so I'm thinking Alamo must have broken some rules.
Or they didn't pay fees? Sorry, didn't read all the way through!

Thank you so much for your reviews.I am now intrigued by this and am going to look into it for a future cruise.
-
Is there a way to get around Maui from the port on bus or tourist trolley? We don't really want to rent a car nor take the tours the cruise line is offering
-
Just got my first smartphone. I normally just text. Do I need wifi for that on the ship? Or is that to check email, etc.

Dh was walking through the casino on the Grand Princess when he spotted a $1 coin in the $1 machine. He put it back in and won $250. Pretty good for a find!

Wine from home. And dinner.

Been to that winery for dinner, live in the neighborhood (kind of). Thanks for taking us on your trip!
Interesting CNBC series "The Profit" will be highlighting NCL!
