Yes, you can make your reservations for dinner after the 8:00 show.  We are onboard now, so happy to answer any questions.  For the MDR on Deck 7, you can make your reservations for the time that works for you.  Do it on the app as soon as reservations open up. MDR on Deck 6 is where they have the traditional times to eat and you have the same table every night.

The Americana Diner is the Main Dining room on Deck 8.  It has breakfast all day as well as burgers & fries, Mac & Cheese, Milk Shakes, Root Beer Floats -meals that are typical American fare.  There are no reservations for the Americana Diner.

Perfect! Thanks for your reply 😊

  2. Hi, wonderful thread.

I’ve never been in any Princess Cruise, but I can have a good deal on Sun because our daughters will sail almost free. Our cruise life always is going to the show, then dinner, then have some cocktail (my older has cerebral palsy and that routine works well for her). I’ve seen in the pics of Patter you posted that shows are at 8 and 10 pm. And 2n seating is at 7:30. And, as Spaniards, no way we dine before the 8pm show. And 10 pm show is late for us.

Do you know if it’s possible to dine at MDR after the 8 pm show? Or at American Diner? I don’t even know what it is 😭

    Thanks!

  3. Hi, we have booked our cruise through a TA

They have sent us a 10 pages "guest ticket booklet". But I don't know if this is really the check-in or not. I called them and got the same document again. Our passport numbers aren’t in it, but it do has the luggage labels

I don't know what to do, since I still can do the check-in online through the webpage

    Thanks

One of our favourites in Barcelona is Bilbao Berria, a Catalan tapas ( pintxos in Catalan) restaurant

Hi, I don't want to seem picky, but I'd like to explain, as a Catalan myself, that the Catalan for tapas is tapes. Pintxo (catalan pinxo) is the Basque for that sort of snacks fixed with a cocktail stick... Traditionally,  in Basque taverns, you pay according to the number of sticks in your plate. Dinners based on pintxos is very tipycal in the Basque Country, and Bilbao Berria is a Basque tavern...

Again, I know we are all beating this to death, but, Prosseco is available with Classic Package.

Prosseco is a champagne like beverage made in Italy, not France, it's every bit as good as some French champagnes.

Yes, champagne, cava and prosseco are similar beverages.  Cava and champagne are even made with the same methode, but with different grapes. They are made in France, Spain and Italy.

That said... if I did a blind tasting of the 3, I'm sure I couldn't tell them apart 😂

We really like La Fonda on Escudullers, just off La Rambla.  The line starts forming before they open at 13:00, I think, so get there early if you want to get a table.  Their prices are very reasonable and the food quality is very good.  It is a "chain" or one of several restaurants owned by the same company, and all of them are very good. This one just happens to be pretty near the bottom of La Rambla, so convenient for those who want to stay close to the port area.

Just realised La Fonda and Les Quinze Nits are owned by the same group you mentioned,  Andilana. I've never been in, but photos are lovely.

  7. Within walking distance of the drop off of blue bus, you have the classic 7 portes (not in Las Ramblas). I've never been in, but I've seen it recommended several times. It's expensive.

In front of Maremagnum there's the lovely Marítim, where you can eat fresh fish, tapas and rices (very tipycal here). Expensive too.

On the not expensive side, up Las Ramblas to the right there's an arched square, Plaza Real, and there's a restaurant where you can eat well by menu or carte. It's Les quinze nits ( the 15 nights). Daily menu on working days can be about 12 € or 22 €.

  8. Well, I asked celebrity directly an they said

I would advise that you "should" be redirected to Celebrity.ES - the Spanish website as per your computer IP address. However, this does not always happen and so will sometimes allow you to book through the UK site in pounds sterling. However, please note this can only be legally booked if you have if you have a UK resident address.*

That's really disappointing, since trough the Spanish site the same booking costs 700 € more and doesn't include the drinks package.

I've looked as well at a big US TA but T&C stated it was only for US and Canada citizens

Now I've tried a big international TA UK website that told me it wasn't any problem if I live in Spain, only, obviously I must pay in £. I've got an £ account so exchange rate wouldn't be a problem. I don't know about assurances and other things right now doesn't come in mind...

US sites gave you refundable deposits?? Wow

  9. Shopping for sovenirs might be a good idea...suggestions on shopping areas?
Las Ramblas, Portal de l'Àngel, Portaferrissa and surroundings, you will find a lot of shops. Up Passeig de Gràcia for more chic stores. The famous El Corte Inglés. All of this in a little area.

Usual souvenirs like magnets, t-shirts, can be found in Las Ramblas and dedicated stores in touristic places (la Sagrada Familia, ...)

Cheap souvenirs can be found at Galerías Maldà. I've seen original though not so cheap souvenirs in the Architects Association's shop, in the building with the Picasso's mural, in the Cathedral Square.

Red is main building El Corte Inglés, purple, Galerías Maldà, in Portaferrisa Street, and yellow is original souvenirs. Blue is Portal de l'Àngel, las Ramblas, Portaferrisa....fe0ad35754ce4c01ec995044cbc61d55.jpg

  10. Shops will be closed, unless it's one of those few day they are allowed to open or maybe some in the most touristic places will be open too. Boqueria Market will be close as well. Maremagnum mall, in Port Vell, down Las Ramblas, will be open.

Aside from that, restaurants, bars, churches and museums will be open.

Saturday night surely the Font Màgica will perform the show. It's a lot to do or see in Barcelona on Sundays

  11. If the weather it's not good for beach, you can go do some shopping, go to the Parc de la Ciutadella, go strolling in the Gothic Quarter, or Born, visit some church, then just relax with a beer at some alfresco terrace. Maybe kids are rested enough and would like visit Cosmocaixa, an interesting Science museum...
