  1. Four of us went on a cruise to celebrate a 30th birthday. We all did the Cheers program, and it worked extraordinarily well. Only one of us ran out one night, but the others had plenty left to share. Between excursions away from the ship, it's still pretty hard to hit the 15 max...unless you're just drinking beer. I had enough to start each breakfast with a mimosa (or two), have a couple of drinks upon reboarding the ship after an excursion, drinks with dinner, and afterwards.

  2. Hello!

We'll be lucky enough to be the only ship in port during our cruise.

Is it possible to go to Coki and Sapphire in the same day?

Is it smart to try both in the same day?

How much do you think it would cost for us to travel to both beaches?

Which beach should we hit first?

Sorry for the million questions. It's our first time on a long cruise, and I want to maximize our adventures while we're on vacation.

    Thanks!

  3. Do you happen to know how many ships were in port the day you were there? We are debating between Coki and Saphire.... I think the teens would like Coki better but I would probably like Saphire for the less crowded aspect.... However I checked the port schedule and our ship is the only one there that day....it is Oasis so that is lot of people anyway but I was thinking Coki might be a little less crowded because we are the only ship there.

Hi, jmaedcruise! I'm new to Cruise Critic. How do you check the port schedule? I'd like to see if anyone else will be in port the same day as us.

    Thanks!

  4. @Mitsugirlys Thank you for an amazingly insightful review. We are leaving in 5 weeks for this same cruise, and we're taking members of our extended family. I've used your notes to plan our itinerary. It's been ages since I've been on a Carnival ship. What deck do you disembark the ship from each day in port? That's going to be our meeting point each morning.

I've totally been stalking your old reviews of the same stops, too. I'm so looking forward to Coki and Linquist beach in St. Thomas, The Boatyard in Barbados, Jalousie in St. Lucia, Carambola in St. Kitts, and St. Maarten is a toss up between Pinel, Maho, and exploring Marigot in St. Thomas. Your photos are fantastic...I'm not a strong swimmer, but my husband and boys are so I'm super excited for them to see everything you've shared with us.

  5. We are in Old San Juan for only 24 hours before hopping on our cruise ship. I'm looking for authentic Puerto Rican eats during that window. We've got a group of 8 including my in-laws, my dad, and our 3 teenagers. Since we're footing the bill for this entire adventure, we're looking to keep the costs low. No more than $20 per person including tax and tip. Are there options that will meet our needs?

    Thanks!
