  1. Did an after 2pm boarding in Canaveral a couple years back. No lines and smooth boarding.

Something to consider, your cabin won't be ready when you board. If you have carry-on luggage, etc, you will be dragging it everywhere you go, dining, bars, pools, etc.

  2. A few years ago we were booked on the Sky that was doing Nassau and GSC. Not sure if Freeport was on the itinaray but a storm came through that closed GSC for a bit. The week before they diverted to Cozumel but ours was diverted to Key West.

  3. ^^^^^^^ April cruise to Cuba....

Bride and I were booked in 1204, SIL & BIL booked in OS 1203. Two days prior to departure, BIL had an accident and was told he shouldn't take the chance of cruising, especially to Cuba. Unfortunately they couldn't make the cruise. SIL tried desperately to transfer the cabin to us. She is a high-roller on NCL and they wouldn't budge. She lost all fees and they resold it. On the last morning we got a chance to view it. Nice cabin, but not worth the upgrade to us. Our adjoining cabin met our needs, and then some. I really liked that it was on the same deck that I spent most of my time on, ie; spa, pool, aft dining area, etc.

thanks for sharing these... question: when the ship is docked at Cuba overnight, is the casino closed? I know they usually are closed when the ship is in port but wondered about this since its in port all night..

Yes, the casino was closed the entire stay in Havana.

  5. Just an FYI. I just last week sailed the Sun to Havana. My Bride booked the 3 1/2 hour classic car tour through NCL. Very disappointed in it from the beginning. Met in the theater at 130 pm as instructed, then sat there with little communications. Next we were instructed to proceed to the terminal where we found our bus as the number matched our departure number. Waited for others, driven to the cars. Take the car you want, no not that one..... Through the very poorest parts of town, to the cemetery, with little communication. From there we traveled to the National Hotel of Cuba where the car departed (and the bus awaited). Again, little communication until they told us where to go for the free Mojito. Back on the bus to a cigar/liquor store. Someone asked if we were passing back by the ship on the way to the flea market. They said those that wanted to skip the flea market can remain on the bus. We chose to do that along with a few others. The bus drove us back to the ship, cutting off about an hour from the tour.

In short, we spent approximately 1 hour in the 50 Chevy convertible traveling through the slums of Havana. Do yourselves a favor and skip that tour. You can hire one of many classic cars right on the street outside the terminal and get a private tour.

Yes, but I wouldn’t recommend buying them. I bought two different shirts at the artisans market and they were so cheaply made they didn’t last a month.

Thanks for the reply, and advice.

And to celebrate St. Paddy's Day you must start with a traditional Irish breakfast!

    Slainte!

Ha, just had my Irish breakfast. Scrambled eggs with cherry tomatoes and banana peppers, English muffin and a side order of fresh avocado.

My Bride, I think I'll keep her!

BTW, she included a Portabella mushroom with hers.

Happy St Patrick's Day lads and lasses.

I feel you, but I’m going to be pretty irritated that my well behaved kid is prohibited from sitting with me on the sun deck in the Haven that we booked specifically to be together.   It isn’t listed any where area as an “adult area”. I think the vibe and spice 2O and smoking zones are the adult only outdoor spaces.

I wouldn’t dream of letting her hang there by herself as she’ll only be 10 on our havenly booked trip.  But, under a parents supervision (and considering the retractable roof doesn’t seem to open) being outside in the Haven area should be allowed and frankly IS what we have paid for.   I’ll take the glare of the kiddophobics until they see we’re chill.

If she were an a-hole I’d be with you.  😜

I hope you you have a superb time in the Haven. I know we are looking forward to it.

A bar falls under the term "Adult Area".
