No overnight in Bora Bora? Such a nice place and lots of Motu also for a unique stay - not that we would do it again but it would be nice to have more than 7 hours. Too much time in Papeete for my taste.

I am thinking about booking segment 1 of the WC 24, and saw those days on {Papeete too would likely get off the ship on the last day if possible, and go back to Bora Bora as I have never been there and agree a few hours is not enough!  Also I  have never stayed in those over the ocean bungalows that look so beautiful in the travel mags/pictures online:)wuld like to spend a couple of days there at least before heading home 🙂

  2. I wonder how many people in the first place have enough money or time for that matter, to take a full world cruise ,at those prices? I suspect not enough to fill the ship.

    • Thanks 2
  3. Yay I am glad I booked last night!  just got my stateroom assigned, and gb my tA, she remembered I prefer port side, and was able to get the stateroom closest to midships on Serenity deck 7 .She does a great job and I didnt even have to tell her my preferences She remembered from my last Crystal  cruise from like 2015!

  4. I see multiple errors/inconsistencies unfortunately on the webpage of the cruise I booked, which is the 14 day Vancouver to LAX, Aug 2024.I will likely take a train to Vancouver as I really dont want to fly if I dont have to,which of course I will if I book the 1st segment of the wc 24  if it does indeed begin in LAX.Driving to the port is really nice when one can do so 🙂

Hopefully there will not be so many small cabins on the newly configured ships.

A Penthouse was the minimum to book to compare with space on other lines for comfort.

As one who cannot afford a PH or PS, I hope you are wrong. Not all of us on this board have unlimited funds for travel etc

Love this!   I think I  lost my large suitcase when I moved last May.Leaving me mainly with a large LeSportsac weekender bag, and  a smaller suitcase  which won’t  work by itself

  7. As a solo  traveler I wish to be around other people as much as possible so I have no need for a verandah. Not to mention the big fare difference in most cases.I would rather be blue to cruise more frequently then be in a PH or PS as like I said for a solo traveler like myself I don’t find vlue in the PH or PS cabins. Now if the cruise is going to the Norwegian fjords, Alaska , or other really scenic destinations I would consider a verandah for sure. But I do a lot of Pacific crossings mostly to Japan but have been to Australia on Symphony ie the infamous 0205 with RafinMd et Al, so I am fine with windows only most of the time. But fortunately there are a variety of staterooms for guests to choose from and meet one’s needs/ preferences ::)

Just got the letter a few minutes ago.

I am sure they are being staggered over days as some got it the other day which makes a lot of sense.  The system worked very well but any system might be more challenged if lots of people are in at the same time.

It started with Dr Mr.  (my surname)

I see they do not mention  returning to Hawaii or South America or Mexico in their letter here 😞

I'd just write them back for verification...  I suspect there are links coded for each offer, and either the confirmation was miscoded for that link or the wrong link was promoted somewhere (which may not even have the current verbiage on the page).  Verifying the offer with them will also clue them in to the issue.

  10. I find the pricing too high for me as a solo traveler.I am not pying over $8000 for just an inside cabin! The oceanwview at $11k.At those prices, i will tjust wait and take a Crystal cruise when they are back  in mid  2023

Today's sunrise is from a combination starting with 2013 B2B on Crystal Symphony from New York to Miami.  November 3 was a sea day from New York to our first port, Baltimore:

    - We like the mix of nationalities (although as Brits we're always in the minority - no problem for us).

    - The ships are spotlessly clean, have an understated elegance, none of the hulls has been scribbled on by a child with crayons and the cabins are comfortable and well designed.

    - We don't need to be entertained during the day, but the evening entertainment is varied and the addition of Rolling Stone Rock Rooms on Pinnacle ships is an inspired decision.  These and the BB King Blues Bands have helped to blow away the line's former reputation of being staid and boring.

    - The food is good.

    - Itineraries are interesting.

    - There are many other good points, but above all the crew members are invariably dee-lite-full.

We've tried several other cruise lines, including some which call themselves 5*+, but we keep coming back to HAL.

I have just booked another HAL cruise but to be honest with you I do wish they hD Ore to do during the day.I am a solo traveler and I have not dfound enough to do during the day.I am doing another TransPacific to Japan next October, and the only other cruiselien I had to choose from that time of year is CELEBRITY,AND  I prefer HAL to Celebrity.I do wish they had paddle tennis courts like Crystal and Cunard have 😞
