  1. We will be on the Carnival Dream in July with a port day (10am - 6pm, per schedule) at Puerta Maya. From what i can find, this is the port for the Carnival ships usually. Since we have excursions planned for the other ports along with what i consider to be a relatively short time to be in Cozumel, we are considering just getting off the ship and exploring the area that's within walking distance. So I'm asking for advice and recommendations for what, if anything, should we do if we're staying close to port. Any good restaurants nearby? A must do bar? Something to entertain the kids (9-11)? Somewhere we shouldn't go? Any advice would really help.

  2. Both Rose Hall and Sunscape look like something our family and friends (all of us have kids under 11) would enjoy. I noticed on resortforaday that to book Sunscape, they require full payment upfront with no refund other than if your ship misses the port. On Shore Excursioneer's website, they only require a small downpayment\deposit and the remainder is due once you arrive. Thinking if it rains when we arrive (late July) that I'd be out almost $300 if i booked Sunscape through resortforaday but less than $40 if i booked through SE. Can anyone share their experience with using SE for something like this? I've searched this forum and can't find much info. Thanks.
