  1. I booked a cruise and when putting down the deposit TA said up until 3 months before departure that if it goes on sale or upgrades or anything like that I can have it reassessed and changed. May 1st, for an upgrade in room the price went down almost $300 and OBC went up another $200. I found this out by asking other travel agents for a quote. I sent the amazing quote to my original TA, she honored the same price, same OBC, and room upgrade.

Today I received another quote that was $9.72 cheaper. Yes, just less than $10. I have no idea why I sent an email about it to my original TA, but I did. And as soon as I sent it I regretted it as it is only $10. BUT then I thought, $10 is $10.

WELL, the TA replied back that I seem to be comparison shopping from many, many TAs, and if over $9.72 I want to switch TA, I can let her know if she should cancel and I can book with the other TA.

I totally get it. But at the same time... why wouldn't I be comparison shopping? Shouldn't I want the best price? And now it makes me feel, I can't find the right words, makes me feel ill towards my TA.

    What do you think?

  2. We were very happy with Concierge class. The embarkation lunch, the sparkling wine, the upgraded breakfast room service menu and the afternoon snack makes the concierge cabins a step above the regular balcony cabins. Also the locations are great. We had a cabin at deck 10 at the front of the ship. Could not be happier.

nice. I don't see where it says embarkation lunch. Will we have our own separate area?

  3. Is a C3 a better selection than 1C on the reflection?

I ask because the Conceirge room just became a few dollars cheaper than when I originally thought. Not only did our overall price get cheaper but I was thrown a lot more OBC. I am saving close to $600 to move from 1C to C3.

  4. Yes. I get that is what the sick person should do, but after paying thousands of dollars to be on the ship, and did not enter the ship sick... it's hard to decide not to enjoy the ship! I think most people keep their mouth shut. We brought our own antibiotics as I read it's common place to get sick on a cruise. Thank heavens we had those antibiotics!

  5. A few years ago, I went on a family cruise. The third day my brother became so very sick. What does the sick person do? Luckily we had antibiotics with us and now travel with them always. My brother was so sick it was hard to keep it a secret but we tried our best as we didn't want him to be quarantined. We paid thousands of dollars to be on that ship. Of course, you don't want to get anyone else sick, but also don't want to hide in your cabin for a whole week.

  6. Question for posters that have received $600-700 in OBC. Since we've never gotten more than $300, I'd like to know how I can get more - no problem in finding ways to spend it!:D

I, too, was curious about this. I somehow feel ripped off. I got the $300 credit, and a $75 credit from the travel agent. But that is nowhere near $700!

  7. We actually didn't see wet shirt contests and such at the pool on Carnival, although they did have that... it just wasn't at the pool we lounged at.

Carnival's night entertainment was spectacular. The shows were AMAZING, the comedy was great too except for 1 comedian.

It's nice to hear this is your favorite ship. I am looking forward to it. Maybe we should bring some games.

  8. Just booked this cruise for January. I have only been on a Carnival Cruise before, so this is my first Celebrity Cruise. I'm a bit nervous as I have read although this is a class above a Carnival cruise that the Celebrity Cruise Reflection is a bit boring and the entertainment is lacking. We will make the most out of it, as this was the only cruise leaving the dates I needed.

Is it boring? How ridiculously crowded were the pools? I read that it was so overwhelming crowded as it's a large ship and they didn't provide a big enough pool.

  9. I totally understand that but I should have added that apparently January in Punta Cana is known for that sort of thing or so I was told by the locals. Their calm waters were sooo rough that it was red flag day everyday. I am used to a rough ocean as I am from new jersey, but this was even rougher. The day before we left was perfect of course.

  10. The wind was 25-30 miles per hour and worse at night. Being on the beach we were pelted with sand! People were on the beach wrapped in their towels. I have been there before and that was the first time we've ever had that. The ocean was also chilly and the pools were so cold they were unusable.

  11. I just recently went to Punta Cana for a week. I went in January. It was very cold to me. Very windy, the temp did reach 80 but because of the wind it was very cold. I am hesitant to leave out of Florida on a cruise and to hit the Bahamas, DR, or anywhere near there. Now Will Jamaica, Cozumel, or where else might be a little warmer for January?
