I know it sounds weird because I am the one on board but I cannot find the information on where to return the red and green kids wristbands. Does anyone know? If I keep it they charge me.
We kept our kids wristbands and haven't been charged.

Hi any chance you could check if flexI dining us back in for fantasia guests?
Many thanks
We were on board June 163out of Barcelona, the second night of the cruise flexi was abolished, you could understand why, dinner top slow and the que of people waiting to enter the restaurant was huge. When I questioned why flexi was abolished, they said it simply didn't work.

Dec 16 the sports plex, by the formula 1 cars. They won't let you on the slide or in the Waterpark without a bracket you get when you register for the Waterpark!
-
No problem, auto type with chicken breastfeeding??? What's that about 😄😄 Enjoy the cruise, don't forget to register for the Waterpark, adults and kids... 😄
-
Thank you! I thought that was the case but was then doubting what I'd read. What sort of things were on it?

They have 3 courses on the kids menu to or the kids can mix and match from the kids menu and the adult menu. Normal kids meals, chicken, pasta, pizza etc. Plus the grilled chicken breastfeeding is every night... Can always count on that!! 😄 😄

Hi,
Italian style of dining means a complete menu of several meals. And a few hours of your time.
Never expect large portions.
And remember, if you like something you can always ask for more than one plate, for every meal on the menu.
If you couldn't decide you can always order 2 or 3 different appetizers or main or even desserts.
It wasn't problem at all during our previous cruises with MSC.
And also, there is no special child menu on MSC, as I know. But if your kid is in Meraviglia's child club there is special part in buffet (I think) only for youngsters. I don't know what kind of food they served there.
Enjoy your cruise and thanks for effort.

100% MDR have a kids menu on Mergivila, I know as our kids used then 😄😄

Fingers crossed Kikki that the MDR menus/food improve. What was it like in terms of queues/getting a table? Which restaurant have you been assigned? I know a stretch Kikki but did you notice if children had a separate menu in the MDR. My kids definitely won't go for that. Enjoy the rest of your night. Don't drink too much [emoji3]!

I can tell you that kids have a separate menu in the MDR if the wish.
Also you can take more than one choice of dish if you wish, as mentioned the portions are tiny!! 😄

So very strange. I did mention it to MSc but nobody seemed interested really.

I understand your point. At embarkation it would surely slow things down, but it would be a good thing to do it all in one form. I have though presigned and sent already the form for the kids club. You can do that online.

You have to sign a form for the kids wrist bands and when collecting your cruise card at embarkation anyway.... This form should cover everything.

Do adults have to sign a waiver to use the slides?
Sent from my SM-N910F using Forums mobile app
Yes, everyone that's wants to use it has to sign the waiver.
-
We usually cruise with Rci and Ncl and there you also need to sign a waiver for everything. It is because they want to make sure you do not sue them afterwards if something occurs to happen. As for the kids club, they need your signature for the same reason and if someone does not want their kids in the kids club they are not signing up. Thanks for the information. We' ll have a lot to do after embarkation I guess. [emoji6]

Hi Lugi, I have no problem in signing the wavier but it would just make much more sense to either sign all forms at embarkation or have a single form that covers everything. When travelling with kids it is safe to assume that they will use the water park and a high possibility they will want to try the kids club, get it done and dusted in one go instead of several forms each time.

Thanks Alan, I guess they will be ok putting a pair of dress pants and a couple of shirts at the bottom of their suitcase and leave them there until we get on board. Makes it hard when you are doing a big trip. Australia is so far away from everywhere you need to make the most out of every overseas trip.
They will be fine with that, enjoy the holiday.

Hi Kikki, can you please do me a favour and check out what men are wearing on the elegant nights. We cruise on 20/10 and will be travelling from Australia. Only thing is we are doing UK road trip and side trips for the month before with Max 20 k luggage. The men folk would rather not pack a suit and have to lug it around if they don't need to. Cruise is last week of the holiday. Just want to know what they will fit in wearing. Thanks so much. You must be bursting with excitement now!
Hi you do not have to wear a suit on the Elegant nights, it is not compulsory. I wore a trousers and shirt which was fine, but many didn't dress 'formally' at all and had shorts on. I wore taylored shorts each night except for the Elegant nights like, I wore a suit pants, shirt and waist coat one of the nights.

Thank you Alan. It certainly does help.
I've posted this elsewhere too. If you want to use the water park you need to sign up for it.. I kid you not. There is a form to fill out for everything! We went to the water park, but had to leave as we didnt have the 'water park bracklet', you need to sign up for it at the Sportsplex. Also if you have kids you need to sign them for kids club, it's not automatic like I thought once the receive their kids wrist bands on embarkation. Surely it would be better to sign up to everything or whatever you wanted upon embarkation / check-in??
-
I do appreciate that you are warning me.
As for the kids wristbands, maybe every kid need to wear them even if they won't go to the kids club? I know that on NCL the parents must sign the kids for kids club if they shall use it so that's not specific for MSC.
I do think that it's strange that on MSC the keycards for the cabin is in the cabin, on NCL they are given to you when you check in. That means that all cabins are unlocked until the guest has arrived to their cabin, right?
All kids under 12 need to wear them. You get them with your cruise card when you embark but forms for pool and kids club are not do 3 at embarkation and need to be done separately.

There wasn't any. We were seated in the waiting area when a butler brought a tray with juice and water over to one of the rows and offered it to 2 couples, passing other people who were also waiting for check-in to open. He didn't even look in our direction as he didn't know we were also YC. DH went over to the desk to let them know that we, too, were waiting. The butler followed him back to our seats with the tray. An elderly woman, seated beside us, reached out to take a cup of water. Thankfully, the butler didn't refuse her. However, when he returned with more for us, he had to explain that it was only for YC guests when she attempted to take another. It was very unpleasant, I thought! Perhaps they should have had a reserved area for YC guests?
Further up the terminal, out of our view, there was a stand where juice and water were available but no-one thought to inform anyone.
That was the issue all cruise, nobody tells you or informs you of anything, you have to find everything out for yourself with varying answers depending who you speak with. We were on flexi dining, but we just got a note in our door saying we were changed now to formal first sitting. When I contacted reception they simply said flexi didn't work and it was being cancelled!
-
Dress code extremely relaxed, I wore taylored shorts every evening, except the Elegant / formal nights. However, people still wore shorts on these night.

We were on the June 16th sailing from. Barcelona. The ship is fantastic, layout very funny though, but lots for kids. The water park is superb and our boys 6 and 8 loved it. The food in the MDR is lovely but the portions are small (you can apparently ask for more than one dish). The buffet, for us was too chaotic, too many people not willing to wait in line. Also the buffet has a kids section, nuggets, burgers etc. but it was at the very opposite end from the 'adult` food which was again very chaotic and a very poor design IMO and not family friendly at all. While our boys didn't use the kids club it did look to be very enjoyable and well run (very secure) sign in and out all times etc.
Hope this helps a little.
-
My advice is get there as early as you can, from what we could make out the times are not enforced. Our embarkation was chaotic to be honest and not a great experience.
-
We are also on board now, balcony cabin Fantastica class. Flexi dining is no longer available, we were informed today. While it didn't impact us as we eat early, it appears it was a disaster, ques for the restaurants at circa 8:00 / 8:30 were comical the first night.
-
Yes 42 inch / 108cms... Was on again today no problem so it's going by height.

Bracelets are provided at embarkation and are compulsory for kids under 12 I think...
Family entertainment msc meraviglia
in MSC Cruises

Hi our kids were 6 & 8, a little older I know. However, we did not use the kids club & they enjoyed the evening entertainment. There is a kids disco, checkout the kids club schedule as it's not listed on the main day schedules, also the various shows the entertainment staff put on, they mix really well with the kids, Harry and Jason particularly for us. Overall the entertainment was one of the positives for our family on this cruise.
