We called all of the vendors that offer the flightseeing trips and did find one (only one!) that would do the trip on July 4. Celebrity does list excursions for that day, but not the specific one we wanted. I don't know which vendor they use for the floatplane trips, but it states "Tours, tour dates, and times are subject to change and availability.".

We have rooms reserved at Breeze Inn for June 2018. The price is $229/night for harbor view with AC. Seemed to have good reviews and the location works well for us, since we won't have a car. They were great on the phone.

We plan to book with Dyea Dave and do the train ride back. He was very personable on the phone and the size of the tour seems to be more what we're looking for.

We will be in Ketchikan on July 4 (2018) and looked into Island Wings and other local floatplane trips (to Misty Fjords and/or Anan Creek for bear viewing). The few local vendors we contacted do not do tours on July 4 (due to parade traffic). Are we limited to the ship excursions (Celebrity)? Will they still have the floatplane trips through the ship? Thanks for your help.
