  1. We had 14 on the 6/9 Wonder of the Seas sailing…..8 adults and 6 kids (ages 12-7).

We interported joining the cruise in Rome that started in Barcelona.  The app was not really functional (which was a downer). However, the ease in joining and exiting the cruise far outweighed the app not working. I would interport every cruise every time if I could.

I never heard an exact number but I assume the ship was at 50-60% capacity. So some of our perceptions of the ship may not be fair or consistent when the ship is at 100% capacity.

    Positives

The ship is the nicest, most thought out, most perfect ship for the group we were with.

The boardwalk neighborhood setup with the free carousel, free foosball, free old school arcade games was a huge winner with our kids. The regular arcade was a blade too but can get expensive quick.

The Central Park neighborhood was popular with the adults to grab a drink and sit outside pre-dinner. It was just beautiful at night.

The kids loved the water slides and the ultimate abyss.  The mini golf course was awesome.  It was never hard to find a pool chair (probably a low capacity issue).

The dining staff was amazing. We had 2 tables a 4 top with 4 kids and an 8 top next to it with everyone else.  Willy/Jumai were our wait staff and they were amazing with the children. They spent time with them talking about the menu options made napkin animals and were great. Every kid spent some of their souvenir money on buying something for the two waitstaff.  One of our party has a gluten allergy the head waiter came over every night with the next days menu to make sure he could have something he was excited about.

The food in the dining room was consistently good to great.

We had an ocean view balcony the room was great. Lots of storage lots of outlets. The bed was comfortable and our daughter enjoyed the trundle.

Windjammer food was consistently good to great.  Never had trouble finding table to put our 14 relatively close together.

    The negatives.

    Not many to be honest.

The food in the Steakhouse was ok but the dining room was good and consistent enough that it wasn’t worth the 60 dollar upcharge.

I had never been to Europe so we spent a lot of time exploring our 6 stops.  Ok Caribbean cruises I have been know to never get off the boat.  So I didn’t have enough time on the boat.

My wife is vegan. The vegan dining room options were hit and miss.  However they did have dedicated Vegan options at every meal and that was a win. Lots of fruit not enough vegetables.

Not negative or positive just funny.

In Marseille, Greenpeace (or a similar organization) had a bunch of kayaks baracading the port so we couldn’t get in.  They were protesting carbon emissions.  After about an hour of talks the coast guard set up some Red Cross type vessels near the kayakers then they has a Coast Guard Speed boat speed past the kayakers and flip them all over and pulled them out of the water.  It was handled safely no one was hurt.  It was amazing to watch from a distance.

There’s so much more I’m happy to answer any questions.

  2. My family and I are interporting on the Wonder in a few weeks.

The cruise is listed as starting and finishing in Barcelona. We are arriving half way thru the scheduled cruise in Rome and Departing from Rome 7 days later.

My question is this.  The itenerary has us arriving in Barcelona (the listed cruises departure stop) at 5am. Will those passengers interporting be able to get off the boat for visiting Barcelona early or will we have to wait for the departing passengers to exit the boat before getting off for the day

  3. So…my family and I are taking a cruise on the Wonder this summer.   It looks like our 7 day cruise is beginning in the middle of the listed cruise for the Wonder on the App

So when I try to access my cruise on the app it says it’s not accessible yet, on the website I can access it fine.

Is there a workaround for this?

  4. So I’m guessing that nearly every passenger on board these first cruises will have a significant amount of OBC.

Does anyone know if you can reserve excursions or make specialty dining reservations via the Hub App.

if not these lines on board are

    going to be loooooooooong.

I just don’t remember if you can or not.

I know the Mardi Gras has not sailed yet.  However, once she has sailed and folks have been there, can someone please list the various daily dinner menus.  There are so many specialty restaurants that we want to try, but still like several of the daily meals in the Main Dinning Room.  Thank you in advance.

I’m on the 7/31 sailing.  I will try to grab a picture of each of the menus for each dining establishment and the different street eats offerings

  6. Carnival has been transporting staff and crew from all over the world to the United States to resume cruising.

I have faith that they have people in their logistics office that have an understanding of what regulations are within reason (things are constantly changing).  I find it hard to believe that what JH was totally on his own.  I’m sure his ticket was purchased by someone in the corporate office.  They thought they had the proper documentation to have this employee of their company travel to the United States (they were wrong).

Some posters make it sound like JH was just deciding to go rogue and travel with some bogus documents.

Carnival may have been in the wrong for assuming he was essential or believing he could travel, but I highly doubt it was JH on his own

  7. So on the Mardi Gras half of the specialty dining you can not make reservations.

My theory is they are going to use those dining options as free dining that passengers will rotate thru to create more distancing when dining.

So Emeril, JiJi, and Capitan would be free dining in my theory. Steakhouse, Bonsai, Seafood pay dining.

  8. We were supposed to be leaving on Thursday for a 4 night cruise.

We were leaving our toddler at home with in laws. We postponed until May. We aren’t afraid of the virus or getting the virus.

We were concerned of an over concerned government quarantining our boat on its return and delaying our getting home.

So we punted until May when hopefully the world will have returned to its senses.

  9. I think I will talk her into butter for the sake of the experience.

She’s making a choice in how she lives her life.  She takes some supplements to help with B12 and iron.  I love and support who she is and who she chooses to be always.

She doesn’t care that I will be eating a juicy delicious steak across the table from her.

  10. My wife and I have been on 10ish Carnival cruises and have eaten in the Steakhouse on nearly every cruise.

In the last year, my wife has adopted a vegan lifestyle.  It works for her.

Anyone ever navigated going to the steakhouse with a vegan.  On menu there doesn’t seem to be a ton of options.

  11. Our cruise leaves on Friday.  We were going to go until the State Department said yesterday to not go.

I’ve been on hold for 90 minutes now. It said at the beginning of the message that we could cancel online via my cruise manager, but I can’t find it anywhere.

Does anyone know where to locate it?

    thanks

  12. So first of all I will preface this by saying I messed up.

We leave on the Bliss next Saturday. I turned to cruise prep this weekend and all the specialty dining is booked all week (unless you go after 9). Some nights the regular dining room is booked.  Will any of this free up during the week?

  13. We will be on the Bliss next month.  We have a 4 year old,  it will be her first cruise.

Does anyone know if you can rent a stroller from Norwegian or a 3rd party near the port.

We dont own a stroller but used one at Disney a few months ago that we rented.  I imagine a few port days a stroller would be very handy.
