  1. Hi there!

I'm in a Haven 2-bedroom suite on the Escape and I received an e-mail to upgrade to the Deluxe Owner's Suite. However when I try to book the Deluxe Owners Suite through the website it says it's sold out.

So, why are they asking me to bid if the room is already sold out? Either the program doesn't consider booked rooms or the rooms are reserved to bid on?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Oh CAS has always treated me great. I Had a haven Spa Suite Compted on this cruise and my next one and have had great great deals with me and my friends pooling our comps for the Garden Villa several times. It was just the frustration of so much miscommunication and for them to not make it right over $97 was the biggest frustration. Like I said it wasn't the amount but the principal of them crapping on me the way they did. I wasn't asking for free play I was asking for them to waive my convenience fees because there was nothing else for them to take off. SMH

I totally understand. They should have made that right ASAP especially since, if you're like me, you spend 97 dollars every 5 minutes lol. I'm sorry to hear this - it actually really irks me!

  3. Hey there,

I'm so sorry to hear about this. You seem like a lovely person and a blast to hang with! I also love the NCL casinos (last cruise on the Dawn I hit 6 jackpots) but do find that you don't get a lot of "freeplay" for playing - I'm also a big gambler.

I really need to sit down and do the math because even though they didn't give a lot of freeplay I believe I got a rather good deal on my Haven Villa for my upcoming cruise (saved thousands).

I've been there - spent a lot of money in the casino - didn't hit anything - AND feeling like your money isn't being valued; it's not a fun place to be. I hope Norwegian makes right with you and perhaps I'll see you someday in the casino!

    Cheers~

  4. Wondering why so many consider these ports as "armpits of Caribbean"??? We stopped at Falmouth on our first Celebrity Cruise three years ago. We went to a small beach club and it was amazing!! Grand Cayman is one of my favorite places as well. I have enjoyed Cozumel both times we went, and Costa Maya was enjoyable too! I never felt I was in danger in any of these ports. Have things changed that much in three years for Jamaica?

I don't have a problem with any of the ports especially given recent events.

Hi Chris! Off topic here but what made you choose Norwegian over Celebrity for your next cruise? Just curious :-)

  5. I am soooooo upset with NCL!!! This is the crappiest itinerary they could have come up with. Why could you just made our the same as you did for the people in October which is a much better itinerary. Jamaica is the armpit of the Caribbean. That is why I stopped booking any cruises with that stop. I wanted to go to Harvest Cay or Costa Maya. Your Stirrup Cay sucks big time as there is nothing to do, no swimming pool, no shade and you have to tender. I will never book an NCL cruise again. I am so sorry that I booked this cruise they just ruined my vacation!

WOW, are you serious? Good, go back to Carnival - lol. Sorry I can't help throwing shade... the audacity of some people.

  6. We had the same itinerary for the following week and were switched to:

    day 1 depart

    day 2 at sea

    day 3 Falmouth, Jamaica

day 4 George Town, Grand Cayman

    day 5 Cozumel, Mexico

    day 6 at sea

    day 7 Great Stirrup Cay

    day 8 return

Hi there! We are on the Escape starting November 25th and our itinerary was switched to the one above. It was originally St. Thomas, Tortuga and Nassau. I'd prefer the new itinerary with an extra sea day but this is fine as well! I'm just glad we didn't get switched solely to the Western itinerary as our last two cruises were there.

    Thank you NCL!

  7. Thanks everyone for your comments!

    Much appreciated!

JPLoves: Yes, I will still sail in The Haven, especially as they offer Bermuda. Still a great product but not the only one!

I am hoping that Seaside corrects all of the Divina negatives. If they do, I will stop my Caribbean Haven sailings.

Understood. How did you like other things on the Divina outside of TYC in comparison to Norwegian? Casino, shows, cleanliness etc?

  8. [Just to preface, whatever Norwegian plans to do with my vacation I'll be happy, I know the main issue right now is the safety of those who are suffering from Irma's destruction)

My cruise begins November 25th and I'm wondering how I should read Norwegian's update?

    Either:

"Until November" [meaning starting in November] cruises will go back to the Eastern Caribbean

    OR

"Until November" [meaning until November is over] cruises originally routed to the Eastern Caribbean will instead to the Western Caribbean.

I'm also curious that if we do end up getting rerouted to the Western Caribbean, will our port still be the same? We were supposed to start our journey from Miami. Either way we will be fine and I'm so glad to read of the nice things Norwegian is doing for the people suffering from Irma.

  9. The Fu Dao Le (also known as Chinese Babies!) bank on the Dawn was always busy on our recent cruise. We saw a lady betting 88cents hit a Major jackpot for over $9400 early in the cruise. I usually play video poker but spent a lot of time on those slots that cruise. Hit a couple of bonus rounds that I cashed out for several hundred $$ before I played it back that week. Very fun!

On VP I play ultimate X for small denominations on board. Have hit a couple of 10X Royals for $4000.

Hey, I wonder if this is the cruise I was on! I went on the Dawn in April out of New Orleans :-) The casino was so good to me!

  10. It's a well known fact. They are not restricted by US laws as to how tight they are allowed to make the machines. Just because you were lucky does not mean that others were not lucky. Here is an example: In Maryland the law states that 90% must be paid back on the slots. That is a pretty good number. On a cruise ship it will significantly lower. I have heard as low as 70%.

Where are you getting this information?

  11. Hi there!

I recently booked a 2 bedroom family villa Haven stateroom on the Eacape. For 3 of us, including insurance, it came to a little over 5,500 (1833 pp). This includes the tax-free discount, casino discount and BEFORE I consider using my cruise next deposits which will drop it another $500.

Is this a fair deal? Just trying to make sure we aren't getting killed!

    Thank you!

EDIT: this came with 2 unlimited drink passes, 2 speciality dining packages, 250 minutes wifi and 140 on board credit.

  12. Hi there,

My family and I are planning to go on the Norwegian Escape this November and stay in the Haven. We've sailed with Norwegian two prior times and really enjoyed it however we wish we had known a little more about the ship/deck layout before booking; which brings me here!

We've never stayed in the Haven before and we're really excited! We can't decide to book a 17th or 18th floor family villa. We do not have kids and keep to ourselves so we're trying to stay away from the kiddos (not that we don't love them!). Any opinions on the best floor out of 17 & 18? Any particular staterooms to stay away from?

Also, do the elevators actually go into the Haven or do you need to take an elevator to deck 17, then walk through the Haven doors into the courtyard area? Is deck 18 noisy? We see there is a pool area/walking area above it?

Any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!
