I asked my travel agent his opinion of Viking's and also third party policies for our upcoming cruise. We have never purchased such a plan in the past (but we are going to be gone two months). He gave me several plans and told me his opinion (which was one of the third party plans). Then I had my personal insurance agent review everything. He also recommended one of the third party policies, which we did purchase.

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before. I understand that there are retail stores on the ship that sell perfume, jewelry, etc. They are described on the Viking ship tour video. Is there a store that sell sundries, like toothpaste, candy bars, etc., like in most hotel lobbies?

We took the Normandy excursion from the Viking River Cruise and we were very disappointed. For example, we spent 10 minutes on Omaha beach. I would recommend a private tour.

Wife and I just booked the Spirit from Venice (August 12) all the way to Hong Kong. The thought of "glitches" doesn't bother me, they will make the trip more interesting. Hope she still has the "new ship" smell when we embark.
