  1. Clearly there are differing opinions on this topic. As a first time cruiser last month we were in Greece and concerned that NCL was holding our passports. The ship was under the Bahamas flag and Greece needed to check out passports. It made me uncomfortable. What if we missed our ship? We didn’t have good copies of our passports and I wanted to be able to use our CC. The front desk was very kind and made good color copies for us. I was a little unsettled but all was fine. This cruise wasn’t a beach cruise for us. But I imagine that we will not take them off the boat if we were going to the beach.

  2. Most US flag ships have 110v power, but the rest of the world tends towards the 220v systems. On ships that are 220v, like most I've been on over the last 25 years, even US flag ones, we use transformers and power strips. (Yes, even on non-cruise ships, there are shortages of outlets).

Most modern electronics don't need converters now. You will simply need an adapter to make sure the plug and outlets match.

We got a neat little travel adapter that came with 5 different plugs that will fit in outlets around the world. It has two outlets and two USB ports. It worked perfect. Then when we had a few things plugged in and we were leaving I could just pull one thing out of the wall. I didn't feel comfortable leaving anything plugged in while we were out of the room.

  3. We love the salad bar in the buffet, it helps with calorie intake.

Us too! We would go get chicken wings or something then get a salad and some cheese for a snack.

Honestly, we enjoyed everything we ate.

The one thing I did not get again was the biscuits and gravy. I chalked that up to the face it was a Mediterranean cruise. The Indian food on the buffet was wonderful!
