  1. We’ve confirmed that for the February 22, 2018 and March 7, 2018 voyages, the Azamara Journey has been arranged to move the ship’s station from White Bay to the Overseas Passenger Terminal (located 130 Argyle St, The Rocks NSW 2000, Australia). This puts the Azamara Journey in the very heart of Sydney’s waterfront action. A communication was been sent to booked guests yesterday, please refer to communication letter for details.

Bonnie - Thank you so much for looking into this. I appreciate your efforts very much. Looking forward to my first Azamara cruise very much.

  2. Thank you Bonnie! I appreciate everything you did.

I received an email from Azamara a few minutes ago. My TA never received anything and was unsuccessful getting information from her Azamara Rep today.

The email from Azamara says that they have arranged to move the ship's station from White Bay to the the Overseas Passenger Terminal.

I checked the port website and it has changed to the Overseas Passenger Terminal too.

    This is great news!

Time to pack, we leave on Friday!

  3. Hi 2ndSailing,

Yes, I've looked into it, and have the answer for you. But...I'm waiting for the go-ahead to post. Our protocol is that I am to wait until those booked have been notified, which was scheduled for today. Have you asked your TA if they've received a notice from us?

I was in touch with my TA earlier today and she did not mention receiving an email from Azamara. She knows we are waiting for clarification so I'm sure if she had received it, she would have mentioned it to me. Maybe she'll receive it tomorrow. We're also on the March 25th cruise which has a port discrepancy as well, but since we're doing a b2b its not as important to us.

I just checked my Voyage Summary online and it still shows the embarkation port as the Overseas Passenger Terminal, the Rocks.

  4. Oh dear I wonder if you have the same problem as the 25 March and 8 April cruise Looks like for these two they have pulled through the RC/Celebrty info the embarkation spot for the large ships and somehow Azamara has got lost in the big parent machine.
I think so. We are also on March 25th cruise.

  5. Bonnie

I noticed our e-documents shows that we board the Journey at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, the Rocks, but the Sydney Cruise Port website shows the Journey embarking at White Bay Cruise Terminal. Bonnie are you able to confirm which terminal we will be embarking at? We leave next week and will be travelling around Australia before we board on March 7th.

    Thanks so much.

  6. I really like it there. I recommended some friends stay there before getting on the current Journey cruise and had a message back to say they loved it. Very comfortable room and extremely friendly staff.

    Phil

    Good to know Phil. Thanks.

  7. Thank you all for your replies I like the reviews on the Conrad We have a few months to decide so will keep researching. Definitely would like a hotel near the quays. We went to look at the Marina Sands and went up in the lift to see the pool last time we were in Singapore. We had a drink there and decided we didn't like it.

We are also on your cruise. We are staying at the Marina Mandarin. Have never been there before, but it was recommended.

  8. I also have a Sony Cyber-Shot with a 20x lens. Love it. I also use my phone for pictures, but I still like the options my Sony give me. Its small enough to fit in my pocket and it takes great photos. I'm not a professional photographer, just someone who likes to take lots of photos on vacation. I get excellent results with this camera.

  9. Buy some Bonine motion sickness tablets before you head to Europe. I have had a few incidents of sea sickness and I would take one the morning I was boarding the ship and every morning I was on board. They didn't make me sleepy and I think they work better than the "patch". After many cruises I still bring them with me, but don't always need them. But I will bring them for this transatlantic....just in case.

  10. Hello all,

I am not familiar with Azamara pricing and could use your help. Interested in booking a TA next October (2018) and the Journey's Lisbon/Miami itinerary looks interesting. We have been sailing mostly Celebrity and we'd like to try Azamara.

A balcony on that TA right now is $2,569/pp (special pricing with 2 category upgrade). I'm not used to Azamara pricing at all so I don't know if this is a good price. I did look at the pricing for a similar TA late this month and the price is significantly higher for a balcony.

Any advice from experienced Azamara cruisers would be appreciated. ty

We just booked that cruise. If you book before Oct. 23 (12 months out) there is an early booking obc as well. We are Celebrity cruisers but we have a number of upcoming Azamara cruises. We felt this cruise was a good price with the double upgrade and early booking obc.

  11. Mark

Thank you for posting this very sad news. I have very fond memories of John at the elite cocktail hour at the Sunset Bar on our transatlantic cruise on the Reflection. I also have one of his pins.

My prayers are with Betty and their family.

  12. Does anyone have information or have stayed in this room? We are headed to the Panama Canal in April and will have this room. We are sure looking forward to it and wondered about further insight to this room, ship, Concierge class benefits, things to watch for. Thanks so much, fellow cruisers:D

We were in this cabin in February on our Rio Carnaval cruise. Great balcony! Proper table with 4 chairs and two loungers. Lots of room for friends. Great view of the wake.

Its a quiet location, easy walk to stairs/elevator. I tried to attach a picture, but was unsuccessful.

  13. Hello 2ndsailing

Wish my husband and I were with you. This is on our bucket list -just trying to plan it well. Maybe I need to look into the flight. However I have read the drive is wonderful.

    Hello from Mendoza

I asked a few people here about driving from Santiago to Mendoza...Said it's a beautiful drive but....And they said this is the only negative part is that the boarder crossing can take hours.

No one could answer the rental question you had.

Flying was easy. We flew Toronto to Santiago and then to Mendoza. Our luggage was checked in Toronto through to Mendoza. Couldn't have been easier.

We are at a wonderful Lodge called Cavas Wine Lodge. Cavas is a fantastic place to stay. They picked us up at the airport and in our package included a number of wine tastings. I highly recommend them.

    Hope this helps you.
