We have booked a free walking tour in Cartagena. We are to meet at plaza Santa Teresa in the Old City. I have a few questions:

I need to take a taxi to get to the tour. Can I get a taxi by the port? Is there a set fee to get to the Old City? Do I need to set the price before I get in? And can I use US dollars to pay for the taxi? Or credit card?

Also, once the tour is over and we want to tip the tour guide, would US dollars be appropriate?

Yes.  For cocktails the liquor used in the drink is put a drink on either the Classic or Premium package.A pina colado made with Malibu, Meyers, or Bacardi rum would be covered by the Classic.  A pina colada made with Bacardi 8 would be move expensive and covered by the Premium package.

When I read the description of the classic package it says liquor, beer and wine. Would that be ANY drink with liquor in priced $10 or less? I ask because the premium package states Frozen cocktails in their package. If a pina colada  is $10 can I still get it with the classic package? Thanks.

Should have mentioned this! We are in Colon. 

No real interest in seeing the Panama Canal. We like beaches, hiking, waterfalls. Would prefer an independent tour operator, not a tour through the cruise line.Your input is appreciated. Thanks.  

We left some days open and had no trouble to book dinner. We were a larger group - 9 people- and travelled during spring break. The most we waited was about 20 minutes. So

We did the AI package and loved it. The food

was amazing and very plentiful. Had a

few drinks included. The bonus for us was unlimited use of kayaks and boogie boards. We used them all day long. We have two teens and it kept them very busy. Plus we loved it as well. It’s one of my favourite all time excursions of all our cruises! Such a gorgeous location.

I don't know what SUP means but there are various vendors along the beach offering all kinds of water toys.  I will be interested to see any anyone says toys are including with a day pass. 

SUP means Stand up paddleboard. Thanks for the info. 

Trying to decide which resort to get a day pass at. Here is what we want:

gorgeous beach with shore snorkeling

good food and drinks

things for teens to do (kayak,SUP etc) 

transporation to and from Coxen Hole included 

we can go AI or pay as you go.

We have looked at getting a driver to take us to the east side and stay with us on our cruise day but it is very expensive for our group of 9 people. (Over $300). So I am wondering how easy it would be to get a taxi back to the cruise port from the east side beaches. Can we prebook a ride back? Would that be a safe bet to get us back? We don’t want to be stuck there!!! Second question do the taxis take credit cards or is it cash only? And about how much would a one way trip be?

Would you recommend a girls weekend as a Bahamas cruise? We all like the beach, good food and a good time. Last year we did Nashville for our weekend but want something different. We are looking at Mariner as the ship. We don't want to be surrounded by kids - we are trying to get away from our own!! lol.
