  1. We were on a 15 day cruise and so we used the laundry service - everything came back so nice- folded in a basket and ready to wear. Nothing was ruined, nothing shrunk... for $20 it was so worth it -- we used the service twice. I had hung our bathing suits up on the line in the bathroom and they didn't dry overnight. Why waste your vacation time doing laundry?

Just some general thoughts and info. Boarding was at terminal F that is usually used by MSC. Weather was fantastic. No towel art and no ice (we just asked our steward for ice and received it daily). Nightly turn down service is still intact. Vibe did not sell out. There was a blurb in the daily stating if you don’t show for a specialty dinner reservation you will be charged (is this new). Cagney’s and Ocean Blue both serving lobster (not very good) with no upcharge using SDP. Great staff and service. If you’re looking for cookies in the buffet they are in the Kids Corner station in the back corner. Rock of Ages was very good. Christian at Maltings is the best bartender I’ve encountered in all my cruises. O’Sheehans served prime rib on the last night of the cruise. The Waterfront was a nice quiet place to hang out at night. We had an angled balcony on deck 14 right beside the aft elevators. Great location but the internet was awful. If I think of anything else, I’ll repost.

thanks for this review --- we have an angled balcony room on deck 10 in Dec - I heard the balconies aren't to big but angled are a little bigger - did you find that to be true?

    Good tip about the cookies...

  3. wow, sorry you had such bad food.... I was on the SUN in May and the food was fabulous... only ate in the buffet and MDR but loved everything... had heard the buffet was so small - I didn't think it was small - of course, it wasn't as large as on the Epic but we had half the amount of people so it was fine.

Those would be class IA inside cabins - deck plan diagram cabins 9108 and 9311 near the forward elevators

and adjacent to the stairs. No videos or photos available YET !

I had cabin 9141 an inside cabin that was huge... I did a video of it - although its not the greatest video, it is on youtube -Norwegian Sun inside cabin 9141.

How many people decorate hotel and resort doors?   Just curious on a slow Monday.

I have seen decorated doors at all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean..one resort decorated it for you if it was a special occasion

It really stinks about the meat in Moderno.  I think my Mom and Brother would get a kick out of a Brazilian restaurant.  I went to one once that was excellent.

Mom does not want to go to Mexican restaurant and me and my Brother plan to get off ship in Mexico and have a more authentic Mexican meal.  But thanks

we went to Moderno on the Epic and didn't have any complaints - everything was delicious

Clearly NCL has their reasons. If they told you what it was they’d just get a lot of this sort of argument. Bottom line is it’s their ship, they make the rules. People who choose NCL have to deal with their rules. I guess I just don’t get what the big deal is and why some people expend SO much energy fighting this sort of thing. It’s a cruise. It’s a vacation. Relax and enjoy! And if you don’t like the rules, go elsewhere. Am I wrong on this?? Jeez.

you are right, its not a big deal... BUT some of us spend time and money picking out a decoration that will bring us joy and maybe even the people that just walk past the door... I am not sure this "rule" applies to all ships or even any ship... we only saw it on one persons newsletter - no one else has even confirmed this.

I wonder how many people on this thread have ever been to the safety briefing and really listened to what was being said.

A fire at sea is not funny. A bunch of frantic guests running up and down the stairwells because they "thought it would never happen" and worse, because they were too busy looking at their phone during the safety briefing is even more pathetic.

And then there are those who question whether or not this is a safety issue but rather something designed to ruin their cruise.  Nobody wants to listen to only your half of a phone conversation much less know your birthday or whatever else you usually plaster all over social media because you "think" it is interesting.  Believe me, it isn't.

Tell me how a magnet is a fire Hazzard? And I could almost bet soon NCL will be selling NCL approved door decorations

Mom last cruise we witnessed our neighbor actually ‘painting’ the outside of his stateroom door with black chalkboard paint... he used the in room hairdryer to quickly dry it and then with colorful chalk he wrote ‘happy 53rd birthday Tammy’

the weird thing was it was just him and his wife sailing in the stateroom. His wife’s name was Donna.

on the last morning of the cruise the room steward was repainting the door back to the orig color.

well there you have it - the reason for the door decorating ban! seriously that is a stupid thing to do -painting your door!
