  1. Find a bartender you like, tip them well at the start and they'll be with you the entire cruise. We leave tomorrow and I just messaged the last bartender we had (became friends on FB) to see where she is working and she'll be ready for anything I need. Unopened beer, cans for the room, drinks every 5 - even not knowing her before our last cruise this was the case after about 48 hours on board.

  2. We're on the Pride in two weeks coming up for Thanksgiving. We've done this before and as others have mentioned the roof will be closed most of the time the two days out and maybe two days back. I believe all the pools were open though (not heated). The slides are more based on winds than weather - if you have windy days they could stay closed longer (especially the Thunder drop slide).

  3. You will have priority check-in and embarkation so yes, effectively, you can show up and board when you like. You would still need to select a check-in time on your Cruise Manager prior to the cruise but suites, high loyalty and FTTF guests can check-in and board when they like.

Suites do get priority tendering (ship to shore only).

Edit: Forgot to add since you asked specifically about "priority" perks - you also get priority luggage delivery on embarkation day and priority dinner time assignment in the MDR.

Just make sure you are following Suite Perks - not Diamond/Platinum/FTTF Perks...

Suite Perks: Priority Security, Check-In, Boarding, Priority Dining Reservations, Tender Priority, Debark Priority

Priority (Diamond/Platinum) Perks: You can see the full list here (https://www.carnival.com/vifp/benefits.aspx) but it includes everything listed on FTTF + More.

FTTF (Faster to the Fun) Perks: Early Access To Stateroom, Priority Luggage, Guest Services Line, Priority Dining Reservations, Tender Priority, Debark Priority,

We upgraded from an extended balcony to a Vista Suite for this November - We had and kept FTTF in order to have early access to our room, luggage and the GS line - We are still Gold Level so until we get higher we will keep getting FTTF even with a suite.

  4. Yes many of us prefer and love the small ships, better staff, better programs and easier cruising experience but things change and guess what we are all still cruising. Sorry but if you asked this same question 10 years ago everyone's list would be all 'true' and yet I'm going to guess you'll still be cruising.

I agree with those - I'll stop when I die until then CRUISE ON!

  5. Thanksgiving is always a great time on the ships! We are headed out Thanksgiving this year and can't wait. I know so many people are surprised that carved turkey on the buffet is different than what they serve in the dining room. Sometimes I order something else and head to the buffet later just for some fresh carved turkey! We've done Thanksgiving 2x already and we've always enjoyed it.

  6. They have limits on how much liquor can go into a drink - the poolside bars almost always use this rule. I learned this when I did the mixologist contest one time. There are some that will do extra but the best drink I've ever had was at the Alchemy - even though more expensive they do pour heavier.

  7. I would say this depends on what type of cruiser you are - Do you enjoy the ports more? Or enjoy the ship/activities more? I know people who could care less about where they go as long as they are on a cruise, in that case I would choose the Horizon. But if you are like me and enjoy going new places and seeing new things - Glory it is!

  8. John Heald mentioned during one of his live videos that there will be "a lot of dancing" this year so more to come soon on that but didn't give a date. He mentioned later in the video about a lot of announcements coming by end of year include Vista 3 name.
