  1. Our daughter is headed on her 4th cruise and just turned 5. Your questions have all been answered we were a little worried about these as well. The pack and play is a better option then the crib - easier to move around in the cabin and take down if needed or just toss up on one of the beds. We had a Pullman one time and was able to use it to store things at night to open up some more room. Never had an issue and she made the best of friends with all the crew.

One note we take Kids/Baby Dramamine with us just in case... she hasn't needed it but better safe than sorry.

  2. Yeah $40 in the steakhouse bar is the most expensive - you can also get top-shelf liquor (Grey Goose XO, etc.) in your drinks at the Alchemy. I hear the Red Frog Bar also has a decently expensive rum but haven't tried for that yet - not $50 but around $20 for a pour.

  3. I think every ship is a little different - I haven't seen a complete list anywhere but very curious if someone has it. They will have a mix of new/old machines. A little less of the large machines with the 'current' theme due to space but there will be a few.

  4. Like others have mentioned... Spring break will be large with families most with under 18 kids, but the college kids will be on the shorter 3-5 night cruises instead of the full 7-9+ day cruises. I don't really remember there being more drunk people - just more people/kids in general. A lot less of the older crowd during this time as well.

  5. Remember early boarding time doesn't mean early boarding... Pending on the port and the time you get there you could be in the first line of the first slot or the last.

We just upgraded to a suite on our next cruise so there are a lot of the same perks if not better but we kept our FTTF for... Early access to the Cabin, Luggage and Line at GS. We almost never use the line either but it's great to have if you need something quick or have a question.

Can't go wrong either way really!

  6. If you aren't under the gym and you are under more of the spa I would take the upgrade as well.

I also agree take something every morning. We were on 6-7 cruises before - some in bad weather and I never felt a thing - then our last cruise I did a 180 and was feeling sick for an entire day before finally paying up at the gift shop. Took 1 every morning and felt great the entire day. I now plan on taking it just in case each morning of the cruise.

  7. We reserved our November Cruise on June 24th with Island Marketing and it was still $60 then. I did just check and it's now $80.

I also just saw kids under 5 used to be free - now it's 4 and under. I have my paperwork that notes 5 and under so hopefully no surprises at port when we get there!

  8. This will be the biggest "Yes" "No" topic... For some it's the best thing they could do and for others it wouldn't be worth $25.

My typical Port Day... 2-Specialty Coffee, 1-Mimosa, 1-Powerade (to take off), 1-DOD once back onboard, 1-Pre-Dinner Drink at Alchemy, 1-Wine at Dinner, 3-4 After Dinner at Alchemy Bar = 10+ drinks total

My typical Sea Day... 2-Specialty Coffee, 1-Mimosa, 5+ -poolside drinks, 1-Pre-Dinner Drink, 1-Wine at Dinner, 3-4 After Dinner at Alchemy Bar = 13+ drinks total

Pending on what you drink that can be the kicker - Alchemy Bar with Premium Liquor (since you have the drink package why not) - break even is 6 drinks there per day, I do at least 4 there per day and at least 2 coffees in the morning + other drinks.

Most people don't hit the 15 drink max and if you keep doing math the entire cruise it may not be worth it anyways for you.

Remember even if it is "Jack and Coke" with the drink package you can get a higher level/more premium liquor with all your drinks.

  9. Our itinerary on the Pride - leaving OCt 8 - switched from GT to Nassau. As of today, still going to Nassau. I have not heard that GT is open cruise ships as of yet.

Actually you are right - Amber Cover is - Grand Turk I saw an update that said mid-October. Most of CCL is still rerouted for October but I wouldn't be surprise if they switched back. The Grand Turk webcam and others make it seem like it will be back very soon!

  10. I am looking at the deck plans and these cabins, extended balcony forward on the Upper deck only on the Carnival Pride, seem to be larger than the cabins next to them, and for that matter, similar cabins on another deck. Can anyone confirm? The cabins i am looking at are 5108 to 5130 and 5107 to 5131. We currently have an interior connected to one of these balconies and I am beginning to wonder if we can manage OK in one cabin, with 4 of us. (Me (mom), Grandma, and 2 boys will be almost 4 at the time and almost 8) and save roughly $700. Thanks in advance. :)

All extended balcony rooms are larger than a regular balcony. At that same note - all extended balcony rooms are the same size - there are some difference in balcony size but nothing to the inside of the rooms themselves.

5130/5131 look to have a 4-person set up meaning a sofa bed and a pulldown in addition to the regular bed. With a 4-year old and an 8-year old really I think this is perfectly fine having 1-room that can fit 4. If it were teenagers or something more... that might be a different story.

Looking forward to it - I would hope it would roll out to all before Thanksgiving when we're cruising on the Pride!

  12. From what I remember - if you are married on a cruise ship you still have to file when you return home and still have to legalize everything then. Carnival usually doesn't handle this but will give you information if you need it. They also perform symbolic marriages for same sex couples that aren't legally recognized in certain ports so that shouldn't matter as well. I think there is some over complicating of things happening here... If you are/have paid Carnival and you are sailing, you should be all set.
