  1. Most people say not worth it. However, my husband and I have done it on both of our Celebrity cruises and have it booked for our next cruise too. Why? We like the freedom to embark and disembark when we please. We also enjoy the lovely, delicious sail away lunch in the MDR rather than fight the crowds in the Oceanview Cafe. We also like the expanded Room Service menu AND the foot stools for our deck lounge chairs!

  2. Does anyone have affordable and clean hotel suggestions for Barcelona prior to our cruise?

Also, we are a senior citizen party of four; one member has had knee surgeries and was wondering how far it is from drop off at the cruise port terminal to check-in at Barcelona?

Any info hiven will be appreciated!

  3. Hi,

First time cruiser and poster. We have $150 per person onboard spending credit for our AK cruise on the Millennium, sailing June 22nd 2018. Can we use the onboard credit for specialty dining restaurants? What else can/can't we use the credit for.

    Thanks!

You can definitely use them for Specialty Dining and even Shore Excursions! They can be used for about anything onboard.
  4. We just completed a Celebrity Silhouette transatlantic cruise on April 28, 2018. We had Room Service every morning and there was NO charge for this and all breakfast items were FREE. We were Concierge class and got an extended items menu, still no charge. We just tipped the attendant who delivered it. There is a small charge if you have room service from late at night to 5:30am. We had Room Service twice and no charge for that either. If you use the t.v. screen in your cabin it will show you which items have a fee. We only had a tip----no additional charge!

  5. Had hoped to have Capt. Dimitrios on the Reflection in Sept. 2019, but see he is slated to share Master of the Ship duties with another captain on the new "Edge" ship. We knew he had been on the Silhouette since she was new, but we just returned from a transatlantic on the Silhouette and had the most boring, hard to understand captain; Capt. George. Does anyone know who will replace Capt. Dimitrios on the Reflection? Please tell us it will be a captain who interacts with the passengers and does more than one daily 10:00am messsge from the bridge. Preferably a good sense of humor would be nice.

  6. I have read many, many reviews where embarkation was a fiasco for Celebrity cruisers in Port Everglades/Fort Lauderdale. The old pier has been torn down to make way for a new one that will accompany the new Celebrity Edge ship. All reviews show a one star for embarkation saying there are NOT enough buses to get the cruisers from check-in at the Convention Center back to the ship. One reviewer stated it took them FOUR HOURS. Apparently, you are given a number/ticket for your ride back on a bus.

Are there any Celebrity cruisers who have left out of Port Everglades since October 2017???

Sure would like to be able to be assured this problem has been solved! We are leaving April 15th on the Tradewinds Transatlantic cruise on Celebrity Silhouette.

    Thank you!

  7. We sailed Coincerge class on the Solstice for our May 2017 Alaska cruise. We liked dining in the main dining room for lunch on embarcation day as opposed to the Ocean View Cafe. We also liked the freedom to embark AND especially disembark when we chose to. It was nice not having an assigned time! Was it worth the extra money? I do not know that we had upgraded linens, upgraded toiletries, etc.. The every afternoon hors d'oeuvres we pretty horrible so that was definitely not a perk worth paying extra for! However, we chose Coincerge class for our April 2018 TA cruise so I would have to say for us, yes, it was worth it. Just depends on your budget.
