  1. When we were o a celebrity cruise this year—11 days (1/23- 2/3/23) on Jan 1st the cruise line scaled back the dinner buffet to about 1/3 of what they used to have. Heard some other cruise lines were doing the same. I understand because of waste etc, but there wasn’t a ton of choices. We like eating in the regular restaurants— however sometimes after being in port all day you don’t want to get dress up & have a long meal The breakfast & lunch buffet was awesome. I would like to know if anyone has been on a Princess cruise after January 1st of this year & if there were cutbacks at dinner
  2. This probably was answered before— but has Princess cut back on their dinner buffet? I know other lines have. We have a friend that doesn’t like to do a long sit down dinner 🤷🏻‍♀️. I was looking at Hawaii cruises for the fall—We (and another couple) had one scheduled back 11/21 and it was canceled. I think it is a big deal for him not to be able to go to a dinner buffet thank you!
  3. We had lamb shank on the Edge in January— (the Mediterranean one) was excellent— ate there several times
  4. We were on Edge 1/23 thru 2/3. Not big time gamblers—- but did go into casino & played penny slots. I did well on the Wizard of Oz (near bar). The one slot machine that was real popular (I couldn’t get near it) was one that had German type theme— with a character named Heidi that poured beers—(sorry I don’t know the name— but it was a larger machine). People seem to be doing well on this one The bartenders in bar are awesome (drink free in casino). Got to know them— threw them a few dollars (we didn’t have drink pkg) We actually book our cruise last minute—- as we got a “free” cruise offer in mail thru Blue Chip Casino. How we got it— not sure—last time we cruise was 2014 & only spent $100 in casino. So felt we needed to visit the casino. Actually came out ahead
  5. Love your posts. We got off Edge on day your got on. I didn’t see the chocolate fountain on our cruise— and brisket. Must of missed it 😞. A day or two—- (pool day) I went to Eden Cafe for sandwich & potato chips (only place on ship u can get chips—) dang I would of love the brisket & chocolate fountain Love “reliving” the cruise. Also, saw stuff we missed. Guess that means we need to go on another cruise
  6. We recently got off the Edge— celebrated our anniversary. We were serve the cake— also very surprise to come back to our room being dark— turning on light, seeing the towel swans & bottle of champagne! All complementary! Very surprised—- Our room attendant was the best!
  7. To person asking questions about close toed shoes. While we didn’t do ship board tour on the Edge— a few years ago, we did one on Royal. A person was sent back to put on close toe shoes & long pants. More for safety & sanitary reasons.
  8. Also just got off Edge— also a “free” cruise. Surprise I even got a offer. Haven’t cruise on Celebrity since 14 or 15 and even than probably spent less than $100 in casino. This time spent more—-(not a ton) but came out ahead. Really hoping for another offer in future Our only complaint is the dinner buffet (just started cutting back beginning of January I can understand the cutback— but wish they would offer a little more— especially on a longer cruise & after port day Hopefully, Celebrity will tweak it a little But amazing service & great ship
  9. We just got off the Edge. Love the cruise— kinda wish there was a private island they would stop at. All the ports were great—-EXCEPT—- Colombia (Cartagena). Took a city tour— as soon as we got off the bus at the fort— many, many street vendors kept coming to you trying to sell you stuff. Happen at all the stops. At the main square— tried to sit & enjoy a beer— constantly had them coming by. Plus there were 3 ships in port. I think it would be a ok port if not constantly bothered. Plus a few beggars only thing ok-/ was walking back to ship was a free small zoo you walk thru—
  10. We just got off the Edge today. We used Park & Go. Husband book online & it was a lot cheaper than close to port. He dropped me off at port with luggage— drove to parking (a little ways from port) Today they were quick to pick us up right as we got off the ship. Would recommend them
  11. Well I called Blue Chip— can not add all inclusive— only can pay for packages individually. ☹️. Also per another person suggestion called Celebrity direct (was told they could add it) -Nope. Well I guess we will skip WiFi (no big deal) take a couple of bottles of wine with us. And pay as we go on drinks 😞 But, for what we are paying for the cruise (port charge/tax & tips) that’s ok Really wishing we could of paid for all inclusive for a fee
  12. We were offered a cruise thru Blue Chip. Has anyone recently been able to add the “all inclusive—drinks/tips/WiFi to their offer WITH a fee. I tried calling tonight—but blue chip closed at 8. I probably won’t be able to call now until Thursday (and wait on hold). We sail this Monday Would love to be able to add package if possible. Was surprised to get offer— since we haven’t cruise in several years & didn’t gamble much
  13. We are leaving on 1/23 a Blue Chip comp offer. All inclusive not included has anyone been able to add the all inclusive. I tried calling tonight— but found out there’s another number I have to call— the Blue Chip number— and they were already close. I may not be able to call until Thursday. Hopefully there is a deal for all inclusive drink/tips/wifi
  14. We are going on Edge on 1/23. We have excursions at all the ports except Bahamas. What to do— not interested in water parks, etc. We are both in our mid 60’s. Thinking maybe just getting off ship, and walking around. Is there a beach walkable? I thought I saw somewhere about walking to a rum tasting? Or is there somewhere we can go have a drink and free Wi-Fi? Something about a straw market? Maybe take a quick walk & go back to ship? Is it safe to walk around? we just book this cruise a couple of weeks ago—- and haven’t had a lot of time to research (never been to Bahamas). Thank you for help
  15. Our check in time is 11:30 for the Edge. My husband will drop me & luggage off at port — then will have to go park car. We are driving from Kissimmee— wondering timing to get there, to allow him to drop me off & go park (he isn’t using Celebrity lot— another lot 3 miles away) Like to figure out what time to drop off It’s about 4 hours from here to there (hopefully no traffic delays) Always have flown I (staying at hotel) we are now snowbirds so driving to port
  16. We are sailing on the Edge on 1/23 (11 days) We do not have the drink package 😭. Does Celebrity sell case of water — (how much) and deliver it to your room? I know we can bring some, but wondering if it’s worth it. Will be bringing some wine 😁. I know I’ve been asking lots of questions— but book this cruise, just a few weeks ago. Wasn’t even planning on one until we got a Blue chip offer— and haven’t cruise on Celebrity since 2014 or 15. Really haven’t had much time to figure things out— feel like a newbie Thank you to everyone. Any hints, please suggest. Haven’t even truly investigated ports—-husband book excursions— 🤞🤞they r good
  17. Hello—going on the Edge in a couple of weeks. I know we can bring a couple of bottles of wine with us. Do we have to consume in our cabin? What do you do about glasses/cups. Do we bring some? Can we walk around ship with our wine. I know we can take to MDR & pay corkage fee— don’t want that. It’s been several years (pre Covid)since we’ve cruised & the last 3 we’ve had drink package. Not this time 😢. We do plan on still buying drinks too thank you
  18. We will be sailing in a couple of weeks. I read about pre-Covid test for unvaccinated However, my husband and I are partially vaccinated—we will not be getting anymore vaccines We have our cards to show the two vaccines I was told we are fine— just making sure has anyone recently sailed with only partially vaccinated & not had issues thank you!
  19. We are sailing in a few weeks on the Edge. Since we just booked right before Christmas — we aren’t getting the drink package (to $$$) do they offer bucket of beer specials? I was also told there might be a “Sip & Save” drink card $29 for 5 drinks—(plus 20%) that can be shared & use over several days. This was sold on ship only— but they may not do that anymore. Its been a few years since we’ve cruised & got a offer thru the casino (I was surprised at receiving offer—since we aren’t big gamblers) just need to know if they sell “buckets of beer” & maybe the sip & save. This will be a 11 night cruise so we will have to somewhat behave 😆 Thank you
  20. Does anyone know if Celebrity still offers the “Sip & Save” drink card. I think a Celebrity Rep told me about it. For classic it’s $29 plus 20%. Includes 5 drinks — can be use all in one day or over several days you can also share them. There’s also a premium one Told you purchase on board at bars We will be sailing on the Edge on 1/23 The regular drink package is too $$$ This would be prefect hopefully someone knows about this This ad could be from a while back thanks
  21. We haven’t cruise in several years— going on the edge in January. 😁😁 How to we see what shows/entertainment & when/how do we booked the shows. Can you/do you have to prebook ahead of time. Or do we just show up? Last cruise we took (again couple years ago) was on Royal & you book shows several months in advance Before that was on Celebrity & I believe we just showed up Thank you
  22. Hello— haven’t cruise in a few years (several were canceled by cruise line We are going on a 11 day cruise on the Edge. 1. Do they still do Lobster night? (I understand they may limit to one lobster) 2. We signed up for 11:30 medical question/eval. After that do we get to board ship? Thank you!
  23. well drinks package is crazy $$$ However, she did tell me A. you drink free in casino (as long as you are playing) and B. There is something called sip and save---its 29.99 for 5 drinks (plus 20% tip) (up to $9) and you can spread this out over several days if you want. You buy on board---and ask bartender for it. This is the way we will be going. I also read that there's beer specials???? Asked about upgrading to Blu--- sold out---so we will stay where we are at.
  24. We got the comp cruise offer--going 1/23 to ABC islands -- I am on hold now to ask about cost for AI or drink package. Will also asked up upgrades to the Blu. This is a 11 day cruise---I will post info later.
