After I finish this, I am coming back on last time to share my views on MDR

John, I am trying to locate your Cruise Compasses for the Freedom but it takes me to one page with a link to your LIVE posts and not the compasses. Am I missing them somewhere? Thanks in advance!

  2. I just got off the phone with RCCL, Resolutions Group and my Travel Agent on the line - We are going on the Freedom on October 9th, my price went down yet I'm paid in full. How is everyone getting Price Reductions and/or OBC that I keep seeing, because RCCL wouldn't do anything for me!!! They pretty much slammed the door in our face.

I'm so mad that I could scream!

  3. Yes, Captain Marvin's has a variety of things to offer. They have 2 and 3 stop Stingray/Snorkle tours that you can take, along with fishing charters and private tours. We are scheduled on the 2 stop in October on Freedom. We have sailed with them 3 times and they are fantastic.

    2.5-2.75 hours

    Schedule:

Monday through Friday (not available on weekends)

    Times:

8:30, 11:15 and 1:45 (please note seasonal time changes)

    Price Includes:

Round-trip transportation from the Waterfront Centre, or from your hotel or condo on Seven Mile Beach, PLUS snorkel gear, life vest or snorkel vest (both optional), and squid for the stingrays.

    Price:

US$40/person for ages 12 and over.

    US$30/person for ages 4-11.

Free for children under age 4.

Please bring your own flotation device for children under age 4.

    Phone: 1-345-945-6975

    Captain Marvin's Email is: info@captainmarvins.com

The two-stop stingray/snorkel tour lasts about two hours and 30 minutes, slightly shorter than our three-stop stingray/snorkel tour. The two-stop trip goes to the Stingray City sandbar plus one snorkel stop, either the Barrier Reef or the Coral Gardens. The captain will decide when he gets out to the stingray/snorkel areas which snorkel stop to use, based on wind, wave and tide conditions, as well as on numbers of people at each of the two areas. They always try to go to the less populated of the two stops.

The cost of this tour is US$40/person for ages 12 and over, US$30/person for ages 4-11, and free for children under age 4. They strongly recommend that you bring flotation devices for children under age 4, as our snorkel gear is for ages 4 and over. They provide snorkel vests, life vests, mask, snorkel and fins for everyone ages 4 and over. You are welcome to bring your own gear if you like.

It is also strongly recommended that you know how to swim in order to be safe for the snorkeling stop. The two-stop trip is specifically geared toward the cruise passenger whose ship is not in port long enough to take our three-stop or beach lunch tour, but stay over visitors are also welcome to take this tour. It is available Monday through Friday on days when cruise ships are in port.

There is a seasonal time variation in the trips because of Daylight Time in the United States, so that during Daylight Time our 8:30 and 11:15 trips work with many ships' schedules, and during Standard Time our 11:15 and 1:45 trips work with those same schedules.

  4. Does 7 Mile Beach have kayak rentals? I'm looking for a beach somewhere in the Western Caribbean (Freedom of the Seas) that I can rental a kayak for the first time on calm waters. Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  5. Did you call this number? 800-526-9723? They generally work pretty fast.

Thank you Merion_Mom and silentbob007 - Yep, that's the number that I called. My husband and I have taken the same cruises and have the same amount of points, but for some reason, he had 13 pts on another C&A number. So, I guess I will call back and ask again. Thank you both for your help!

  6. Well, whatever. I don't pay for any of it, and I don't really care if other people do or don't. The poster asked if other people do or not and everyone is answering that question. The nit-picking question started when someone said they don't feel specialty restaurants are worth the extra cost but that they do enjoy Johnny rockets, and then someone (you?) jumped on them about being a hypocrite or whatever. That person's point was that they don't see the point for spending money for dining room food they could get for free but admitted they don't mind paying for Johnny rockets. I didn't see why someone needed to jump on them for that and start a stupid argument so I was simply supporting that poster in that their thought process might be that they don't put the two in the same category because of the cost. People are always getting so defensive and confrontational on here, I can't imagine what life is like when not hiding behind a computer screen, because being so confrontational and picking at people just for the sake of trying to make people feel badly or feel stupid is mean. So, I was standing up for the person that was getting picked on and playing devil's advocate for why they may have seen the two as different categories.

Anyway, I see your point, but my point was, who cares? The person was simply answering the original question but admitted that for them, it isn't a hard and fast boycott because they do pay for Johnny rockets. I didn't see the need for you to nit pick at them as though they aren't allowed to make an exception to the rule, especially if it's because their reason is because it's a lot cheaper to take 4 people to Johnny rockets than Giovanni's or whatever. Your response was purely to be confrontational.

Thank you ColoradoGurl!!! Thank you for sticking up for me. YOU ROCK!

Even though some people think Johnny Rocket is a specialty restaurant, I really don't think so. Like you said before, I really can't see me paying $40 per person anymore to eat and make reservations, when I can go to JR and pay $6 per person anytime I want. I've tried the $$$ ones and they are good, but eating a burger that's freshly prepared is better to me. It's just not the same! So, THANK YOU!!!! The nit pickers don't bother me - they are here to start trouble/debates on the boards and I don't do that, sorry.

  7. We have experienced the specialty restaurants on a few cruises and yes, they were good. But we agree with most people, we pay enough for the cruise / flight / hotel, etc., so why pay for more. We have found the food to be great in the MDR and quite enjoy it. So, why change!

If the cruise was cheaper or if we were celebrating a birthday/anniversary, then we would splurge on the specialty places.

We do Johnny Rockets at lunch and we love it!

  8. I have tried many waterproof mascaras and I buy only name brand. The only one that has worked for me is Bobbi Brown's No Smudge Mascara. I get it at Sephora and it's $26.00. It's the only mascara that I used when my mom passed away and I cried tons and nothing was running down my face. It works beautifully!

  9. Many people prefer to use the off-port site parking lots. I always use the parking garages at Port Everglades. The daily cost is a bit more, but I find it so convienent. And, even have obtained porter assistance from the terminal to the garage when I have needed it. (A nice tip to the gentleman follows such service.)

Thank you too for the info!!!!
