onboard the ship, the arcade and everything else only accept your sail n sign/room key. you can not use the gift in the arcade machine

Yes you can put a limit on the kids account. Guest services onboard the ship can set this up and they will also add the gift card to your onboard account

This is what I did for my kids on our cruise in December except I set up the limit during online check-in.  I gave them a blank gift card (no money on it since the amount I was giving them wasn't an available denomination) that I wrote an amount on and set that as their individual spending limit.  Turns out, 2 of my 3 kids spent their money in the fun shops instead of in the arcade, but whatever.  It was their "gift card" to use however they wanted!  👍

  2. Ship - Breeze

    Deck - 1

    Stateroom # - 1246 & 1248

Stateroom Category – 6M deluxe ocean view

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Mostly.  1246 is directly above a gangway so you can hear when it's being pulled out and laid down in port from both rooms, and we could hear the rolling of luggage carts below us the night before debarkation.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - yes; 1246 and 1248 connect to each other.  Both connecting doors worked just fine and were held open by magnets on the backside.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – not a balcony, but there is a large window in each room with a very deep ledge.  Perfect for sitting or displaying towel animals as my kids liked to do.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - n/a

    Was wind a problem? - n/a

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? - In 1248, the secondary light switch by the bed didn't work so the overhead lights had to be turned off or on by the door.  The bathroom with the shower in 1246 reeked horribly of mold, and that bathroom door also wouldn't latch closed.  We had to jimmy around and secure it directly with the lock when using it.

Any other comments? - 1246 is directly off the elevators (meaning 1248 is one door around the corner), but the only hallway noise was during port day when people were trying to get to deck 0 to get into Cozumel.  Both rooms have an extra sink and bathtub which is very deep, and there is also a shower head so it's not limited to just baths.

Eh, not a deal breaker. Some of y'all are being pretty extra about it, I must say.

Some ingredients in your omelets, or having an omelet for that matter, at breakfast should not make or break your vacation.

Is that really what you're going on a cruise or the ship for? I think not.

News flash!  It's perfectly valid to be disappointed in something.

I didn't see anyone in this thread say anything about it making or breaking their cruise. Good job trying to be dismissive, though.  👍

  4. The free Carnival Hub app is going to be very helpful while on board (there's not really anything you can do before you sail besides it being a countdown).  I know a lot of people complain about it being pushed so heavily because they like to "lock their phone in the safe" while on vacation, but it really is a handy tool.  The daily schedule and menus and things are on there (yes, you can still get printed copies), and you can stick a heart on activities you're interested in so you get a reminder later.  There is an optional chat feature on there you can use to communicate with other people in your party, and it's $5 per device for the whole cruise.  But you can get along just fine without the chat.  Make sure you put your phone on airplane mode after you connect to the ship's wi-fi to use the app.

The idea of not having any shows is ludicrous.

And if that happened to be the case, there would be folks on CC and on John Heald's FB page demanding cruise credit.

You got that right!!  People demand free stuff for lesser issues all the time.  That would've been huge.

I'm a little worried they have been pulled from AARP's website because too many people were getting them. I hope they come back. I have been buying 100's just in case they don't have the 500's anymore. I am not sure how many I can use on Carnival's website for 1 cruise.

I've used several even within the same transaction.  I just got a $500 GC on Wednesday, but I've never seen them not come back after going "out of stock".  Not much consolation, I know.

My wife buys the single serving ones to bring on board. The flavor she wants is not always easy to find in the supermarket, and bringing them on the plane can be problematic. So what she does is order a case of them off of Amazon and have them delivered to an Amazon locker near our port/hotel to pick up and take on the ship.

We've used Amazon lockers for last minute cruise supplies before, and it's a brilliant solution. 👍

No, you can't, not anymore - it was a recent "clarification".  This is what evolved over the last week or maybe two - while John H has been on vacay.

    From the Carnival website:

    • All guests including FTTF guests are required to select an Arrival Appointment that works best with their plans when completing Online Check-in.
      • We will not be able to accommodate FTTF guests who show up at a time prior to their selected Arrival Appointment window. Upon arrival to the terminal, guests must look for the priority line to check-in.
      • If FTTF guests arrive after their selected Arrival Appointment window, they will be accommodated in the priority line.

Well, this sealed the deal for me not purchasing it.  I was willing to accept the higher price because almost all of the other perks were still intact, but not being able to arrive earlier than our appointment time really is the deal breaker for us.  Thanks for the info, Prog.
