Carnival Jubilee Feb 2024 - funtimes, menus, etc
TheLargeFamily replied to weezal's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Also, what toiletries are complimentary? (shopping and packing) thank u for your help. β€οΈ -
Hello! We are staying in a hotel in Baytown the Friday night before the cruise and I'm wondering what to expect as far as traffic and driving into Galveston on Saturday morning. If we have a check-in time of 10:30 for the Jubilee. On a normal day the drive is about 50 minutes . Wondering what time we need to leave . Thank you!

Book everything u MIGHT want ASAP... I have discovered that you can get a full refund later if you change your mind. I also noticed that some of the more fun cooking classes opened up within 3 weeks of the sailing so check back frequently. Those ones get booked up immediately.

Carnival Jubilee Feb 2024 - funtimes, menus, etc
TheLargeFamily replied to weezal's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Hey! Thank you for sharing! May I ask a question? We board in less than 2 weeks. Is the bolt running again? Did u ever see any pickleball other than the random 9pm tournament? -
We are staying in a family Harbor suite on Jubilee that can hold 5. Not sure about other ships... but in my research I occasionally came across other ships that had rooms for five and I can't remember which ones they are.

Someone explain this to me.
TheLargeFamily replied to TheLargeFamily's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Do you know why they don't often put rooms that sleep four people Side by side? It's very hard to get connecting rooms to accommodate eight people -

Ahhhh thank you! -
It is one of my silly Hobbies (or not- so - silly Hobbies) to price out vacations over and over again. Eventually I book them and we are leaving on a cruise in two weeks. However I see the following with Royal Caribbean all the time. Why are they booking every other room? I see this on almost every floor of several ships. It makes it very challenging to get connecting rooms. See picture for an example.

How long after arrival time are you typically boarded? We have an arrival time of 1030-11 on our next cruise and I'd like to be able to anticipate that time. Thank you.

Oh my goodness this is heartbreaking.
-
I think I'm gonna cancel this one. I was already concerned about one of my kids freaking out in the caves... Bummer
-
Thanks for that input. How long are u there?
-
No vomiting for u? π I just asked my pcp for scopalamine patches and Zofran. How many hours did you get there?

I checked the Cozumel forum but didn't find much. Has anyone done this one? We are doing it through Carnival. There's a 40-minute Ferry Ride to Playa then a short bus to Xcaret. I am wondering if all that travel was worth it. How many hours do you get at Xcaret? This is a place I have wanted to visit for a long time, but doing a land-based-vacay in Playa with my family isn't currently a possibility. Maybe in several years. That said, I don't want to drag my family all over kingdom come unless it's in everyone's best interest.

Communicating on board without wifi package
TheLargeFamily replied to TheLargeFamily's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I can't wait to ignore my email for a whole week. π -
How often is pickleball offered? Is it a madhouse? Reservations? Can kids play? How many tournaments? Can kids do tournament play? Bring your own gear? TIA! πΎ

Jubilee in 21 days. ππππππWe haven't cruised since 2018 and never on carnival. We are only getting one Wi-Fi package for my husband so that he can do some work. In my research it seems like you can use the carnival Hub app on airplane mode to communicate with your cabin mates? Is that correct? Are there phones in the rooms? TIAπ

What time is last to disembark?
TheLargeFamily replied to laurierocs's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
The last time we disembarked late one of our suitcases was not in the terminal. It was a large, common-looking black suitcase but with a colorful tag. I noticed a nearly identical suitcase that was NOT ours, and called the number on that tag. This poor lady took my bag instead of hers. She missed her flight returning it to me. She had been so anxious to disembark first that she made this mistake. Don't book early flights!!! As for me, now I use galaxy smart tags AND obnoxious luggage straps to make my bag stand out. -
Thanks for all of your responses! 1st, I know that there is an ice cream and coffee machine, pop (still need to scan your sea pass). The coffee machine looks like it does more than just black coffee. There's white and chocolate milk. I watched some youtube videos (of Celebration, mind you) and saw that the breakfast buffet was pretty substantial: every kind of breakfast meat, scrambled eggs, potatoes, hardboiled eggs, baked beans, pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, cereal (hot and several cold choices), cut fruit and berries, smoked salmon, french toast, a variety of condiments and things I struggled to identify. I couldn't tell what was in the fridge, maybe yogurt, apple juice, and OJ? An afternoon snack of modest sandwiches, chips and salsa, and several cakes was set out from 3-5. Cookies and milk were set out from 7-9

Hi cruisers! We are sailing on Jubilee next month and are staying in a family Harbor suite. One of the benefits is supposed to be that kids eat free βmost specialty dining" restaurants. My cruise planner does not show me which restaurants and I've already booked one evening at Bonsai Teppanyaki. I'm planning on going to Guest Services once I'm on the ship. But does anybody know what restaurants are included in this benefit? I also have a question about the bolt roller coaster. I don't want to make a separate post about it. An adult is supposed to ride with a child. Will they combine other adults with your children? Both my husband and I cannot write it because we both have spine issues.

When to book for a suite?
TheLargeFamily replied to TheLargeFamily's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes, that is an option for other cruises. But this is a "bucket list" item that we're looking forward to! I am afraid the perks will spoil us, however. -
We haven't cruised in a few years. so I am out of the loop. We'd like to try to book a suite that accommodates 8 on Harmony of the Seas out of Texas- Ideally one of the aquatheater suites. I will use an agent. How early do I need to book it? I see that they're already gone for April of 2024. When do you think that an agent could book this for us for Summer 2024? Thank you.
