  1. We are traveling on the Freedom of the Seas sailing June 2, 2018, and it will be our first Royal Carribean cruise! We are very excited, but not familiar with the RCL dining and show schedule or process. We are traveling with another family and have the My Time Dining option. We want to see the shows on board, but want to ensure we plan dining to coordinate with the show times. I called Royal Carribean and they advised they do not have any information for the show times and it would not be available until being on board. There is an option to reserve certain dining times with the My Time Dining, so I am wondering if anyone knows what time the shows are normally scheduled and how much time do we need to allocate for dining in the main dining room? Are there normally more than one showing of each show? I was also told that on this cruise there is not an option to reserve tickets for shows until being on board.

Any information would be very much appreciated!

We will be on this cruise as well and it’s our first also! We chose My Time dining and plan on making reservations after we get on board so we can see the show times. Looking forward to this cruise immensely!

  2. Itinerary!

Just unreal. Every stop had such a unique vibe and offered a different type of experience. It was almost as if we felt like we traveled thousands of miles and not less than a hundred in many instances.

I will say, that I’m over organized shore tours. Getting out there, renting Jeeps and ATVs and just getting lost and finding hidden gems made this trip fan-freaking-tastic.

Driving through the little towns, speaking with the locals when we got lost, heck even enjoying the local radio stations, just all added to the feeling that we were immersing ourselves in the culture.

Standouts of the week. Enjoying the endless green mountainscapes of St. Lucia and the bluest of blue waters in Antigua.

Public Service Announcement...chances of getting car sick in St. Lucia are extremely high. The windy narrow roads along with the dramatic elevation changes are recipe for disaster. I was spared as I was riding shotgun, but every time I turned around one less person was left sitting vertical. [emoji51]

Rick I cannot THANK YOU enough for the past couple of weeks! My wife and I are cruising this same itinerary in about 2.5 months (but who's counting?) This will be our first cruise ever and you have set the bar. I'm so looking forward to stepping out of my comfort zone and experiencing life, probably not as much as you and #OurTwoSuitcases did, but having an awesome experience!

I'm seriously having withdrawals here, I need to go back and read your other Live Reviews now! Once again, THANK YOU CLR for the adventure!

  3. Thank you!

We are counting down to our "VERY FIRST CRUISE" (only 80 days now) and the menus and pics were exactly what I needed this morning. Although we will be on Freedom and are doing a Southern itinerary, these menus gave us an idea of what to expect.

I read all the time about the lack of variety, the food itself and the service, but here's my thought...

Your on a cruise, lighten up and enjoy! I've got nothing to compare it to so I'm gonna enjoy...bottom line!

Once again, THANK YOU for the photos and menus, now I'm hungry and gonna grab a pbj sandwich! Might even post a photo of it! LOL

  4. And for the longest I thought "Host Clarea" was a woman till I started reading Cruise Life Rick's live blogging on Adventure and then I saw the name Bob on the bottom of a response! Sorry Bob about the mix-up, but I do agree with all that is said! You Da Bomb!!!!!

    Where are you Bob!?

Ok, so I've figured out who Rick is after watching all the #OurTwoSuitcases videos, and of course Chase and Jenny. I've seen the other couple in the vids to, but don't know their names!

Love all you guys! We are taking Freedom of the Seas and this same itinerary on June 2 (our first cruise ever) and you guys are truly awesome! I've devoured everything I can about cruising and you guys are my go to "smile inducing" posts and vidseo! My wife asked me the other day what would I do if I ran into you all on a cruise...smile even bigger was the answer!

Have fun and I'll follow the posts and smile thinking about my cruise in 85 days, but who's counting?

  6. Good Evening!

Just a quick question, my wife and I are doing our first cruise June 2 of this year on FOS. The question concerns the photo package. I've searched the boards, but have not been able to find an answer to this before, so I thought I would throw it out here. Do both myself and my wife need to purchase the photo package. Since we have no family going with us, it will probably only be the two of us in each shot. If that's the case and they use facial recognition for the photos, it seems I should only have to pay for one complete package and we will get all the shots that include her. I should also be in those shots, unless she picks up a sugar daddy and throws me overboard:confused:

Thanks in advance! Just trying to save money, but do things right as well!

  7.

Now I gave you folks the original Sir Mix A lot link in my Allure trip report. Then in the Freedom report, I gave you the link to the Seattle Symphony. With the understanding that not everyone likes rap music or classical music, here is the country version of the song (you still with me - BIBPHOTOGRAPHY? - sing it out loud to the wife):

You got it Harry, I'm still here! And being from Nashville, TN (Country Music Capitol of the World) That version was just down right perfect! Keep it up Harry, I'll be here the whole week!

  8. Hey Harry!

My wife was just asking the other day if HarryFat1 had posted anything new? You see, when I first found your trip reports, we were reading everything we could about Freedom. We have booked out 1st cruise aboard her for June of this year and we were just devouring everything we could about FOS. Your report made great bedtime pillow talk for several days as I read each word you wrote OUT LOUD!!!!! Heck I even went back and read your Allure report as well. Glad to have found you and this Christmas Cruise report.

On a side note, my wife did ask that I not read each one of these reports out loud to her while in bed, So on this one it will be just me! Happy Cruising Harry!

  9. The thread should really be titled "Live from St. Maarten -- And What Are You Waiting For?!" -- there's so much progress here on the island, check out our report. The biggest news has nothing to do with hurricane damage at all -- it's about the fantastic new Rockland Estate Eco-Park, with its deepest-vertical-drop zipline and 1,000 ft. mountaintop views. Whether you've been to St. Maarten a million times or you're thinking about a first trip, it's exciting....

Some of the best news I've heard in a while! We are scheduled to make a stop next June on Freedom of the Seas, and St Marteen was something we looked forward to. This will be our first cruise, so we have nothing to judge it by. But from this story and words around the internet, I'm excited instead of concerned now! See ya next year 1f642.png
