@Lovetocruise2002 joined our table of 3 this morning and insisted that I get raisins. Our waiter was happy to oblige. Thanks Sabrina. 😜

They didn’t go to waste but Sabrina might not be welcomed back tomorrow. 😀

Thanks for adopting me this morning. And look at that, you survived just fine with Satan’s droppings at the table 😂

Andrew, do you know if they are still allowing the Pinnacles unlimited (except for breakfast) access to the SL/CK ?  Last week there were 74 of us and they didn't restrict us...just wondering if that is still the case (I see there are 81 this week).

    Thanks !

It was just told to me today that they are having Pins eat breakfast at chops this week. Happy hour remains the same.

This is their go to hotel so we are giving this location a go.

Speaking of “go to”, we had a bit of a rough start with them this time around. Hopefully it gets sorted out today because I do love this place! And I hope that you guys love it too! See you soon!

None of us are getting a PCR test done, we're all doing the RT-LAMP test.
"This test kit is designed for travellers. The RT-LAMP test is accepted for re-entry into Canada, amongst other countries.

Be careful with this one.  I found this article a few days ago and it looks like CBSA is not on the same page with this test.

    https://toronto.citynews.ca/2022/01/16/relieved-but-what-a-nightmare-travellers-pre-entry-covid-test-questioned-by-border-officials/

Also, on another forum, another poster called CBSA to verify after reading the above article and this was the response from (1/26/22):

We were just about to purchase these tests from Switch Health but I thought best to do some due diligence before doing so and wanted to share what I have just  learned:

    1.  I contacted Canada Border Services Agency and was adamantly told that whether you are providing a PCR, NAAT or LAMP test it must be done so in a licensed facility.  I explained that the Switch Health tests were proctored and was told they are not valid.

    2.  I contacted Switch Health and was told that while their website states that they are accepted, it is up to the customer to verify and remain up to date with protocols.  As far as they were concerned, their LAMP tests are accepted upon entry back to Canada.  They did suggest I contact Public Health.

    3.  I was advised by Public Health that these tests would not meet entry requirements because sample collections must be sent to a lab in order to be valid.

I find it extremely frustrating and misleading that Switch Health and Air Canada are recommending these tests when the border agency and public health are saying that they are not acceptable.  It is also not very accurately stated on the government of canada travel site that the tests must be lab based.  It simply lists the type of tests that can be used.

I suppose it may come down to which land or airport border representative you happen to get upon arrival into Canada but I don't think it's worth taking a chance unless clearer information is updated.

Thank you for sharing.  Fingers crossed that this will be my experience in 9 days from now!

I will admit, I was very anxious heading across that land border for two reasons:

    1) What if they gave me a problem with the onboard test?

    2) Would they quarantine us while waiting for test results?  With Christmas eve being today and Christmas tomorrow, that was a serious concern.

Unfortunately, I think it's going to come down to the agent you deal with.

  6. Just got back from Allure yesterday and wanted to come here and document my experience. I have followed this thread closely over the last few weeks leading up to the cruise. Wanted to share what happened with us yesterday.

We flew round trip from DTW-FLL, and we used the Ambassador Bridge to cross back and forth. On the way there, the only question asked was, “What was the last date of your second vaccinations?” No documents needed other than passports.

On the way home yesterday, when we got to the booth, we had our ArriveCAN app filled out prior. Yes, it does ask you what countries you visited, and yes, we listed the US and the Bahamas. We also had in hand our PCR results (from Allure the day before), and our passports. They asked for our passports. First question was , “Where do you live?” Second question was, “How long were you away for?” Third question was, “What is the value of goods you are bringing in?” Fourth question was, “What is the value of the most expensive good?” Fifth question was, “Can I see your PCR results?” We gave him the paper copy.

After taking about 30 seconds or so to look at our results, he gave them back, handed back our passports, thanked us for completing our ArriveCAN app properly, and informed us that we had not been selected for random testing and we were on our way.

Another 12” on top of the last 2 days worth of snow. More today. UGH.  With no cruise in March this year we are living vicariously through you.

Staring out my patio window and having the exact same thoughts right now!  UGH describes it perfectly.  14 more days till we get out of the cold north but sad that there is no @A&L_Ont live blog this March.

  8. I just booked this exact same cabin (Cat. VT 1054) on Jewel yesterday.  I have been searching over multiple social media forums for info too on this type of cabin and there is not much out there other than a few videos.  The thing that I was most concerned about and looking for feedback on were noise (from the centrum and elevator bank).

For the sailing I was looking at, this cabin was about $200 more than a Junior suite but it receives full suite benefits (like the Panoramic suites, Cat.VP, on Freedom and Voyager class) so I decided to grab this instead of the JS.  I figured for a 5 night cruise, I wouldn't miss the balcony too much.  But yes, definitely interested to see if others have more feedback on it.

Same for us 😊! We also hope to sail on her Sunday! I did want to ask though - They are saying an update is being played onboard Harmony and all Caribbean ships  in the cabins on the TV with updates on Dorian. Would you mind please sharing what it is and any updates they give you. Safe travels! Thanks!

JVF shared it on social media too for those at home.
