Put it on a room service tray on the floor. Problem solved.

Depending on the size of the machine, put it behind the headboard. A box of tissues can fit there

Or get a rechargeable travel model.

No need to put it on the floor. It fits on the end table with no issue. It is bigger than it appeared in pictures/videos 2 years ago.

It's not an issue. You could leave it on the floor .  Your hose should be long enough.  Mine was

Yes, I cruised almost 2 years ago. No problem with the end table. It was large enough for the cpap. Just had to run an extension cord across the room.

  3. Thanks all for telling us your experiences. I think it will at least be nice and cool for sleeping. Sounds like getting on and off the ship will be a sweaty experience, though. You would think a brand new terminal would be nice and cool. It seems like more and more buildings are warmer than they have been in the past, perhaps to save $$. Or maybe it is just me getting fluffier. 🤣

I am from Louisiana, so very accustomed to AC. Unfortunately looks like I will be without it for at least a week. Thanks Ida!

We were on her 8/7-8/14. Had a small tower fan in the room and felt is was actually cold at various times.(daytime naps)  Also, had the balcony door closed but not latched at one point. AC worked but the seal allowed humidity in the cabin and the ac was dripping from condensation until we figured out what happened. Found public areas very comfortable. Enjoy!

That is what I like to hear! Thank you @May1cruiser!

We were on Mardi Gras 8/14-21. Our cabin stayed plenty cool.  At night we did set it on the lowest setting and push the boost button because we like it cold at night.  In a couple of areas in the evening center stage and the theater, I would wear a light jacket.

That is great to hear! I sleep so much better when the room is cold. Sounds like we will be comfy in the theater and atrium.

We were on the Harmony of the Seas in 2018 and found the public spaces and cabins quite warm. It was especially hot in the elevator lobbies. It was so stuffy in the dining room we asked the staff to move us. Thankfully they were able to put us at a table near the entrance with good air flow.

  6. Have the public spaces and cabins on Mardi Gras been hot or cool? Obviously it is August, so I don’t expect it to feel like walk in freezer. My group tends to be hot blooded, and just walking around can work up a sweat, especially with a mask on. I have heard the aft balconies can be hot most of the day. I am hoping the cabin stays cool with the curtain closed while we are out and about.

Watched a video on this ship. No mention of Mongolian Wok, does it have one? Also those floats that people lay on in infinity part of pool, r they free, readily available or do u have to rent? Thanks

No dedicated Mongolian Wok on lido, but Chibang will serve noodle bowls and burrito bowls for lunch. The menu looks pretty similar to the beloved Mongolian Wok minus calamari, muscles/clams, and a few vegetables. Also, don't forget Mardi Gras has a food truck-like concept near the lido pool for lunch that serves Asian food like bao buns, satay ,etc. The selection changes daily for that.

Hi POACruzer!  I recognize POA 🙂  We're UPC as well.  When are you going to be sailing on Mardi Gras?

Sorry to disappoint, @busymomintc ,I am not UPC (had to google what that meant lol). My uncreative name was created in haste to prepare for my Hawaii cruise on NCL Pride of America. Most of the folks refer to it as POA, so I slapped Cruzer on the end and there was my username.I figure most people do not know what it means, especially on a Carnival board.

My last three cruises were NCL and Royal, and I cannot wait to get back to Carnival. The Mardi Gras has me excited about cruising again! Not really sure if we will be sailing on Sep 11th, or if we will postpone/cancel. We will give it a few weeks to see how things play out with the new mask and testing requirements.

At Chibang now. It is NOT the whole MDR dinner menu, just the Mardi Gras and more options. Confirmed with the servers.

Thank you for verifying KMom. It is a very important distinction. At least for me 😆

I was hoping we could go to cucina/chibang and not miss any must haves from MDR. Now I will just have to go through each MDR menu and see which ones we can axe. If we go to smokehouse, cucina, and chibang that is three nights to cut. Decisions decisions…

I was originally thinking of doing exactly what SNJCruisers suggested, but that does not look possible now.

  10. I noticed in ParoDeeJay’s Chibang night video that when Jay showed the menu the “& more” section was a very scaled down version of the MDR menu. Instead of the daily changes it was the usual “Caesar salad, flat iron steak, and chocolate melting cake, etc.”

I imagine if they are directing people from the MDR to cucina and chibang the FULL MDR menu would also be available to order from? I know on lobster night they were serving it at all three locations so no one missed out according to John Heald. However, I never heard if you could get prime rib or bitter & blanc at cucina/chibang.

We just don’t want to miss some of our favorite apps/desserts from the MDR by going to cucina/chibang. It seems like 7 days will not be enough time to try everything 😄

Hoping someone could put it in black and white for us how this actually works.

I just used the app, rather than the QR codes.  Full menus were there.

Hi lazydayz, were the menus for the entire sailing available on day 1? Or do we have to wait for them to post to the hub each day? Deciding where to eat dinner each night will be will be little more challenging than usual on the Mardi Gras. A good problem to have 😋

Maybe you have one that has air intake from beneath it?  I've spent the better part of a year with mine on a carpeted floor before with no ill effect to either myself or my device.

The floor of your own home is different from a cabin/hotel room carpet. I do not doubt that no ill health effects would occur. The same could be said for food that falls on the floor in public places. I still won't pick it up and eat it. I am pretty sure most people would agree...

The air intake is on the side of the machine, but you already knew that.

What about something like this ... My wife uses one now so it would be our first time cruising with it.

Thanks for the suggestion. That is a great idea! I am going to try to make it work without buying a solution, but will keep it in mind for future cruises.

Would it not work on the floor?

Sure it would. Just be sure to pack your extended hose and extension cord. Make sure it is not surge protected, though. Pray there on no floods or sewerage back ups to ruin a roughly $1,000 machine. (Happens more often than you would think)

I will make the small silver shelf or ottoman work. Everyone is happy to be getting back out on the open water, but come on! Placing your CPAP on the carpet is a ridiculous suggestion. Please don't pretend like it is not.

If your tube is long enough you can set your machine on the floor beside you.  You can find longer tubes easily enough. Extension cords are better way to go to plug in vs USB ports, IMO.  Not sure if CPAP power is adaptable to USB ports anyway.

Lots of fretting and worryworting over relatively minor inconveniences that can be easily remedied.

Yes, I am sure folks will be happy about putting their CPAP machines on the floor...quite the remedy!

I don't understand the need to poo poo people's legitimate concerns. This is a brand new ship. In 2021 there should be counter space by the bed and a power outlet. We should not need to run extension cords across the cabin. Carnival is well aware and has the data on guests that use bedside machines. How many extension cords are stored on the ship for just this purpose? I think we are just disappointed they chose not to address this age old problem.

  16. I am concerned about where to place the machine. Not sure if it will fit on the small shelf thing by the bed. Would I need to use the ottoman as a table to place it on? I will bring a long cord just in case there is no outlet by the bed. I have not seen any in John’s videos of standard cabins. There may be one underneath the bed, but not likely.

I know a lot of cruisers use Cpap and other devices by the bed (not to mention cell phones). USB is a great feature, but I think a regular outlet would have been a better choice. Especially since USB C is becoming the new standard.

Other than that, really liking the colors and fit and finish of this ship.

No Tiramisu, or did I miss it?

I did not see it either. It looks like the grand marnier souffle appeared twice on that particular 7 day cruise. It is a popular dessert so I am sure it will appear on the menu of future cruises. In the past there used to be choice of two desserts then below that the low sugar option and CMC/cheese plate/fruit each night.

Does anyone know if the bitter and blanc has changed over the years? I don't remember the "cinnamon dulce sauce", but rather just just a vanilla sauce that was poured in. I am sure it will still be tasty, but I am not sure the original can be beat. Obviously the desserts are very important to me 😆

The menus have not changed much.  While port selections are missing, there are usually additions to the menu.  We had barramundi the other evening and hubby loved it.

The waiter brings around a bread basket and asks what you would like.

They still have Bitter and Blanc, so I am happy!

I have not been on a Carnival cruise since 2014. Has the Bitter and Blanc changed since then? I do not remember the "cinnamon dulce sauce," but rather a vanilla sauce that the waiter would pour in the ramekin. My family has been dreaming of the bread pudding since I booked our cruise on the Mardi Gras in Sept. Hoping it will be just like we remember...

  19. When I first booked our POA cruise back in November the Kauai arrival time (as stated on the NCL website) was Thursday September 14th at 10:00 am. I just so happened to notice this weekend that the time of arrival has changed to 8:00 am. There doesn't appear to be any other changes to the schedule. Can anyone who has sailed recently confirm that the time has indeed changed and I am not crazy? It would be nice to get on the road two hours earlier for our journey to either Waimea Canyon or the North Shore (not sure which way to go :D, 2nd day is a Blue Hawaiian Heli Tour).
