  1. I'm always surprised there aren't more people there. It's always held on sea days. BUT they list it at the bottom of food & drinks section, not in the activities list, so I think most people don't even know about it.

I agree that because it's listed at the bottom of that section, many people don't see it. For me, though, that's great. Less people, more peaceful: I don't have to yell across the table when having discussions.

The one thing that was not offered, or maybe I just missed it, was Devonshire cream . . .

  2. I absolutely love Tea Time. My last was on the Victory in the Pacific Aft dining room. We sat at a window table on a rainy Sea Day and counted five people, not including the two of us, which was interesting and perfect; no one else came! I had a specialty tea with a hint of coconut (not sure of the brand but would love to know); I like mine with cream. The smoked salmon sandwiches, chocolate fruit tarts and chocolate cake were delicious! There was no music or loud talking-- just bliss! For me, I wish the MDR for dinner had the same atmosphere.

I'm ready for another Tea Time!

  3. I do not remember the channels, as we never watch much, but I'd say if there are about 16 channels, half are cartoons (like Cartoon Network), TBS, local port news and national news channels; the other half are ship channels.

  4. I googled "carnival room service menu" and found this post because of the question that was asked.

Once here and read the rude comment I thought I would try a search cruisecritc boards. I typed in "carnival cruise room service menu" and a window under the search box popped up and said "NO RESULTS FOUND".

I hope there is not a lot of rudeness here. Scared to ask questions myself now. Search engine doesn't seem to help much. But I will give it a try to see how it all works out.

I do want to thank KappaLady for being kind soul and posting the Breakfast Menu pic.

Most of my searches has only brought up post that are 10-12 years ago. I was looking for something more current like 2016-2017 to be sure nothing had changed and what was accurate.

Again' date=' thank you KappaLady and all other kind souls.[/quote']

I'm glad I was able to help!

If it helps anyone, if you have a room with a "fridge," leave the compartment (closet or cupboard) opened to let out the heat produced by the "fridge." This will actually make the "fridge" cold. Using this method, I've kept fruits and desserts quite well.

  5. That would be understandable if the early times were mostly selected by others.

    Thanks for the updated info.

You're welcome! Time slots, instead of exact times, are used to give the deliverer time to prepare the order and make it through the busy kitchen and down a long hallway to the cabin. An order placed at 5:30 will not be delivered at 5:30. Call earlier! [emoji4]

  6. I found a hang-on-the-cabin-door breakfast menu card <below>, but the delivery time on this card doesn't have explicit times like most. So I wonder if anyone has used such a card to order coffee and pastry in the early morning - like starting around 0530? My wife and I are early risers and like to have coffee and maybe a croissant on the balcony before our morning walk. We are booked on the Dream in a few months, but the last time on any CCL ship was about 3 years ago and we have both forgotten.

Thanks for your help. Especially if you can report on the punctuality of their deliver time. NCL was spot on or a few minutes early on our last cruise, we are hoping for the same on the Dream.

    Carnival "Breakfast" card:

Here's the updated version of the card. If you want breakfast at 5:30, you should call room service before 5:30 to give them time to deliver it, as they're preparing other passengers' orders, also. d878f887dde50e940c8641dced62a9db.jpg

  7. Thanks so much y'all. Hopefully I'm finished asking my questions, lol.

After a very stressful past year & 1/2, we're all 4 looking forward to relaxing on vac. Take things as they come. If our biggest choice on vac is choosing to wait 20 mins or eat w strangers, I'd call it a success.

I love your attitude, Lucy! When you mentioned the amount of time life has been stressful, I had to check your location . . . I hope you didn't experience any of that bad weather.

  8. I got it. If you are a cheerleader, and constantly cheer for Carnival, than you should always be listened to. But if you went on 4 cruises with Carnival, where the cruises got progressively worse, to the point, that you became totally disgusted, and like to share those experiences with others, than you should "ignore" that person, because they are always wrong.

But if you continue to read the same bad reviews from multiple different people, you should still pick Carnival, and form your own opinion because the cheerleaders love the ship, and the party atmosphere, and lack of services provided.

That's not what I understood, but that's fine because THAT'S the point-- "everyone's answers are based on their own perception of their own personal experience." No two experiences and understandings are exactly the same. Take what you can/want for reading someone else's experience, go to the source for facts (and note that exceptions may be made for you), and use common sense to help form your own experience!

  9. The norm is to sit you with others. Whether with the whole family or just the parents, you'll be asked if sharing (with strangers) is sufficient. If so, have fun! If not, you'll be seated with just your family. Now, if you and DH arrive at a peak time, there may be a wait for a table for two, and you may get that uncomfortable section where all the tables are less than two feet apart from each other.
