Having just completed a B2B on the Legend, it would be more of a pita to leave the ship after the first cruise just to go get the two bottles, than to just carry on all four bottles on in the first place. trust me. :classic_cool:

I actually have lucked out - a couple we are traveling with has offered to bring 2 bottles of wine onboard for me 👍🏻 Now I can REALLY overpack 😂

Were there any internet problems on your cruise ? They’ve already refunded our internet package for the 6 day Bermuda cruise

    I get it.  I pack and schlep a LOT!😄

What month is your cruise?  If the weather isn't hot and you put your 2nd leg bottles into an insulated bag or cooler, then store it down low in a shady part of your car (maybe even under a blanket), it would probably be fine for a week.  You could even add an ice pack or two to the bag/cooler for good measure.  Under those conditions, it would most likely take several days for the wine to warm up to the extent of being damaged, if it warms up at all.   Good luck!

We are leaving next Sunday - (September 25th) 🥳🥳🥳

Hi, neighbour!  Yes, you can bring two more bottles of wine and leave it in your car to be retrieved on turnaround day, but I wouldn't recommend it.  The wine could get ruined by sitting in your car for a week - in either hot weather, or just the car getting hot in the sun in cooler weather.  Wine doesn't like heat.  I would suggest you take all four of your allowed bottles on on Embarkation Day of the first leg.  Just show both of your boarding passes.  And for extra help, in case the people checking you in in the terminal give you trouble about it, print out and take the section from Carnival's website saying that you are allowed to do this.  Either way you choose to do it, have a great B2B on that great ship out of that great port!😁

Thank you so much for your helpful reply! I guess I was trying to avoid schlepping 4 bottles of wine onboard the first cruise - I’ll have to see how much I have in my carry on - I’m having trouble packing for 14 days ( even though I always have PLENTY to wear !!)

Good afternoon cruisers! Drake here, I'm still alive and happily living on St. Croix.

I am still happy to answer any questions that anyone may have about visiting my home but I did want to say a few things off the bat.

    1. Everyone always wants to know how much the taxi will cost. I will no longer be answering these questions. I will let you all in on a secret, there's a website that lists what you should expect to pay! Please go look at: https://visitstcroix.com/taxi.html for all the info you need. Quick hint for you; look at the right-hand column and find your destination, most of the common ones are listed. "Diamond/St. George's" is Cruzan Rum, "St. Croix Renaissance Park" is Captain Morgan. "Carambola" is Cane Bay.
    2. Most island businesses don't check their email that often. PLEASE call them when you need to book something or get info. They will be happy to talk to you! Honest!

I look forward to answering anything else you need to know!

    Cheers.

I really appreciate you taking time out of YOUR life to answer our (sometimes stupid) questions !!
Our ship (Enchantment OTS) is hopefully stopping in on February 9th🙏🏻- have ANY large cruise ships been allowed to dock recently?
Enchantment was supposed to be there January 12th, but instead had an extra day at sea ( not the best thing after already having 3 straight days at sea)

We will all be ready for some sand, surf and adult beverages 🌞🍹

  5. Sorry - I am late reading this thread and this question might have already been asked and answered 🤦🏽‍♀️

Are points only amassed on the slot machines or do you get points for table games ?

Any idea what it takes to get to a certain point level? I play the slots but not for any crazy amounts - if I find a machine I like I might play max per spin - usually $3-$5 range

Thanks for the Enchantment cruise review - we’ll be on her next Saturday, and as anyone who’s cruised before knows - this week will last
    FOR-EV-AHHHHH

  6. Hello cheers experts.

My entire family is going on a cruise including my parents who are in their mid to late 70's. All of us are buying the cheers package as it will save most of about half of what we would normally spend.

My question is about my parents only. We all have cove balconys as this is our preferred room type, but also because it is my parents first cruise and did not want a lot of motion in case of sea sickness. Y father has had knee replace surgery in the last 6 months and gets along fine... But he is wanting to have a few beers in a bucket on his own balcony...

Is this something he will be able to do?? They will not be able to go back and forth for every beer in their room. If this may be an issue then I may have them cancel the cheers .. I hope this makes sense.

It's not about the cost or number of drinks..but their mobility... Thanks for any help!!

I can see several solutions - we always bring our own soft cooler and have it filled with ice - holds the ice better than a bucket

If your group was amenable some of them could go to a bar, each get an unopened beer and take to your parents.

Or your parents could do the same thing themselves - go to a bar - get 2 beers - repeat every 5 minutes several times and take to cabin

  7. I am considering a cruise on the Grandeur, but need some info on the casino.

Does anyone have an idea of how many 3-card poker and low stakes blackjack tables they have ?

The reason that I ask, is that we were recently on the Serenade, and they only had 1 3-card and 1 low stakes Blackjack tables.

My husband usually moves around different tables - he will get up if he starts losing a lot , and try a different table.

On the Serenade, 6 people totally hogged the 3-card table, so if you EVER got a seat if you got up there was NO way you would ever get a seat back.

And of course, with just the one low stakes Blackjack table, it was always full :(

What I couldn't understand was that was NEVER anyone at the $25 Blackjack table- wouldn't you have thought they would have changed the minimum bet just to get people playing ??

We didn't spend near as much time in the casino as usual.

I would appreciate any info anyone has !

    Thanks !

    Jane

  8. I probably need to unsubscribe from this thread.... I CANNOT resist ordering a gift card or two when they go on sale. The one cruise I have already booked is paid off, and so are my excursions for said cruise. I'm planning to book the next cruise while on board ( for the on board credit) but I hear you can't use gift cards to do that. I said all that to say, if I keep snagging these gift card deals, I guess I have to keep booking cruises so I can use them.... or wait, maybe that's my goal. 😉

I am like you - I keep buying them !! The last cruise we were on, I booked a cruise while I was on board, and gave them one of my $500 gift cards to use for my deposit - easy peasy !!!

  9. Someone on this post mentioned using ebay bucks to buy gift cards on ebay and pay from PayPal. I have a PayPal account and looked up ebay bucks and all I have to do is sign up to start earning. Ebay says look for the bucks symbol when buying and you will earn ebay bucks. I can't find anything that has the bucks symbol. Can whoever posted about this tell me what you buy and what the symbol looks like so I will know if I am earning them.

    Thanks, Candie

I think the E-Bay bucks are available on just about anything ( at least everything I buy on there ) clothes, shoes, jewelry, books

If you find something you are interested in, just click on the item and it will show you how much you will receive in Bucks - usually it's 2% but sometimes they have specials and you might get more.

You can redeem them every 3 months -I just redeemed mine the beginning of April and got $100 Carnival gift certificate for $80 :)

The next period is April - June, available to redeem beginning of July

  10. Man Kim - I am just loving your review !! ( in fact I love ALL your reviews!!)

Thank you so much for taking the enormous amount of time it must take !

I was just on Face Book and saw an ad for MERMAID SOCKS !!! - of course, I immediately thought of Sakari !

Not sure if they have kids size - but worth a look :p

    Living proof dot com

When I did the questionnaire that Carnival sent me after our last cruise I told them it was ridiculous to have about 10+ options for lunch , and such a few in the evening

Looking forward to the rest of your review !!

    Jane

  11. Hello,

We're going on the April 18th cruise, first time on Royal, and I'm wondering where on the ship we can purchase the drink cards? Thank you in advance!

The morning that the drink card info was in the Cruise compass, I immediately asked about them at the pool bar - the bartender didn't know anything first thing in the morning, but a few hours later they had them available to purchase

  12. Not be that guy that disputes things, but I tried both on line and on the telephone to pre-purchase Cheers with gift cards and found that there is no place to use a gift card for "Fun Shop" purchases. A telephone call to Carnival confirmed that they would not allow me to pre-purchase Cheers with gift cards.

I just tried to do the on line purchase again, and couldn't use a gift card, only credit or debit card. The phone call I made was a few weeks ago, but if you plan to by the gift cards solely for purchasing Cheers, you may want to call and see if the option has changed since I called them.

    Good Luck

Yes, from what I saw, you could prepay for excursions with gift cards, but not Cheers :(

  13. Well I have read this ENTIRE thread, and will be curious to see what happens when the dust settles

One thing that I have decided is that on our next cruise I am going to inform our steward that we don't require any towel animals -seen em all enough times, and must take a lot of their time to make .

I'm sure there are quite a few cruisers out there that prob feel the same way ??

    Jane

  14. Just looking for some clarification on the use of these gift cards. Can they be used to purchase excursions and the Cheers package pre-cruise? Or can it only be applied to onboard credit? I have already paid in full so would not need to apply towards a final payment.

    Thanks in advance!

Well, just pretended to purchase drinks pkg - no space to use gift certificate - just credit card
