Is it worth $100 a person? The experience and the food? I did a search and couldn't find anything on here specifically for the Fantasy.
Thanks :)

maybe that's the only time they can get off work.
That's a great point!

To be fair, you can't really cruise to Alaska in the winter. They have limited bookings and that's why they can be so expensive. I'm going on one next August and it's 3 times the price of my winter Mexico cruise.Price out an Alaska cruise in the summer... You'll see some high prices!!This message may have been drafted using voice recognition. Please forgive any typos.

Oh thank you!

I just bought an egift card from allstate to pay for it.
Say now what??? How do I do this? I have been using Allstate for years, never heard of such.
-
That's definitely sound logic. I didn't realize the price would be lower in the summer. I thought it would be higher because more people vacation during the summer months. I live somewhere that can get up to the 100s in the summer and have no desire to be any hotter than I need to be, to heck with the savings LOL

Has anyone done this? We are doing Tulum in Cozumel and looking for something that doesn't require a lot of exertion in Costa Maya. It was between the Jeep Adventure and the Select Retreat and Mayan Wellness.
Anyone have any tips or suggestions for the Jeep adventure?

I'm going in November and want to thank everyone for their input. Just one question...why in God's name would you go to Mexico in July :'):'):'):')? I thought people were nuts for going to Disney World in July; I can't imaging going to Mexico in July. I'm from south Alabama and go to warm places in the fall/winter and cold places in the summer LOL

Cheap deposits are for Early Saver fares.
Losing $100 is a big deal for many people.
I have been poor and I have been very comfortably financially. Losing $100 is a big deal to me in any event!!
In the end I did decide to go with past guest booking as I can get my $800 back before May. I do think it's sort of a raw deal that they get to keep double the money (probably put it into an interest-bearing account) and offer me no real perks. But if I have the option to recall that money at any time I guess I can understand why they do it.

I called Carnival but their system is down. I am trying to book a 7 day cruise under past guest status. There is information under the cancellation policy for all cruises except 7 day cruises to Alaska! Super frustrated as I was ready to pay. I guess I will call back in a couple of hours, just wondered if anyone had any insight.
Here's what I'm talking about:
6-9 day cruises (excluding all Alaska, Europe, Transatlantic, and Panama Canal cruises; and all cruises purchased under the Pack & Go fare)
10 day or longer cruises, as well as all Alaska, Europe, Transatlantic, Panama Canal cruises):

Yep here it is. It says for ES but you can use it up until final payment even if you didn’t book ES. Sometimes they will reject it by saying you don’t have ES and then you need to call to explain it’s not past final payment and you do in fact get the cheaper rate. Then they fix it. It can be a pain so I just call my PVP and have him do it. Be careful when selecting the buttons at the bottom and make sure you’re not selecting a guarantee cabin. Very easy to overlook when you’re not paying attention.

Awesome, thanks!

No, you need to check for them by doing a mock booking. I look several times a day. There is a form you can fill out online but I just call my PVP and he handles it for me.
Is the form on the Carnival site? Thanks!

Jealous!! Wish they would call me :) Congrats and have fun

I have book many cruises more than a year out. I use the past guest rate if possible but I have also do the ES rate. I have had to change this and they have waived the $50.00 fee for me.
Oh wow you just changed the date and they waived the fee? That's awesome!
-
Awesome thanks[emoji5]It really varies. It seems lately that the best deals are far out and of course for best cabin selection it's best to book early. But if there is a lot of time in between when you're looking to book vs sailing, there's a good chance you can get a price drop. The days of the real good last minute deals are pretty much a thing of the past.Sent from my LG-H910 using Forums mobile app

Are cruises like airline tickets? Do they generally go up in price before sail dates?

You know, I don't have any clue about price drops or checking for them. I'm assuming they don't let you know when that happens

That's great advice I think I will do that!!Wait for cheap deposit. They have them on specials at time for 50 dollars. I did one over a year and advance and if do not go will cost 100 for two of usSent from my LG-H910 using Forums mobile app

Well you also get the $50 credit and half off the deposit. I guess that's a reason most people for for ESBut being you get a future cruise credit from Carnival with ES, does insurance give you your money back if you're outside of final payment and they don't want FCC? Also CFAR insurance is also only typically $75-80% refund so you still lose money. For $10-$20pp more for Past Guest Rate, I don't understand why people would risk it that far out.Sent from my LG-H910 using Forums mobile app
