  1. Like many of the suggestions for "extra" stuff to bring, like shoe organizers, hiliters, magnets, message boards, clothes pins, etc., I just never had the need to bring any of these things on board a ship.

I travel with what I need, and it all fits into a 21" carry on pice of luggage. Works great for me.

Of course, YMMV, as this thread attests.

We usually don't bother with extras either. This time we are cruising longer, with a balcony, so I'm packing "heavy" for the first time! Towel clips, snorkeling gear, and, most importantly, a different outfit for each dinner.😉

  2. We do both. We love to camp so those are our "land" trips (also kind of makes the cruise cabins seem luxurious😁). Cruises are our "big" vacation and our favorite. There is no traveling or additional cost (i.e. dinners, movies) involved once you are on the ship, you can drink any time, and we do shore excursions to scope out a possible future AI trip.

  3. My partner and I are currently on Cunard's Queen Victoria sailing around Greece and as novices (second cruise only) we like to play a game onboard called 'Spotting Seasoned Cruisers'. I won the game today with this:

I'm going on my 5th cruise and will be bringing towel clips for the first time. My fiance and I want them for our port excursions. We've had our towels blown around/slip down enough times that it's worth a try! We also started using lanyards after our first cruise. It's so much easier and we don't care how it looks. [emoji3] I think we will play "Spotting Seasoned Cruisers" too. Sounds fun!
