  1. We went on the ncl sponsored normandy shore excursion. The format was satisfactory, but our particular tour guide was horrible. We went thru miles of shoreline and she was absolutely quiet. No commentary. The individual beach heads weren’t pointed out. No backstories of d day. I think other buses probably had better guides. We just got a bad one. My husband knew more about d day than the guide. The tour took us to all the right places.
  2. I confirmed with NCL rep that a two day deviation means spending 2 nights in England. Our flight will therefore leave on 10/7, arriving on the 8th. I think the 2 reservationists I spoke to yesterday were wrong.
  3. If the reservationist is correct and a 2 day deviation leaves on the 8th, the what happens to a cruiser who asks for a one day or a zero day deviation?
  4. We will be using the BOGO air to fly from Minneapolis to London. These flights typically leave in late afternoon/early evening and land the next morning. Our cruise reservation shows a two day deviation. The cruise departs on 10/10. The NCL reservationist says our flight will leave Minneapolis on the 8th, and arrive in London on the 9th. Is this correct? I thought it meant that we would spend 2 nights in London. We’d like to spend 2 nights in England.

  6. I work out everyday when I cruise. It’s difficult to get in a workout longer than an hour. The gym doesn’t open until 6 am and by 7 am it is packed. People are waiting for the ellipticals and treadmills. Another problem is the bags. I’ve only seen them on 2 ships. Don’t count on them being there. When you go on a shore excursion, they pre assemble you in a staging area at least 30 minutes before the excursion start time. Most times excursions that begin at 9 am will stage at 8:30 or 8:15. It’s almost impossible to work out beginning at 6 then shower at 7 and eat a big breakfast and be done by 8 to get back to the cabin and get ready for the excursion. Your best bet is to do most workouts around 4 or 5 pm. The gym is still busy, but not too bad. Working out twice a day is really only possible on sea days.
  7. Can you keep all 6 persons on the 2 bedroom haven category and also book an inside cabiin for your dad (he’d have 2 rooms)?
  8. We arrived at 10 and they took our bags right away. They did not let us into the cruise terminal until 10:30-10:45
  9. We won a family suite on the Star a year ago. We had booked the cruise in june 2020 using 30,000 points. Meta upgrade from oceanview to balcony and then $560 x2 upgrade advantage to family suite (495 square feet). Because we booked during height of covid, at the end we paid less than others with an oceanview cabin.
  10. Do you think it could be related to which deck the cabin in on.
  11. We are booked in a family club balcony on the getaway. The room description per NCL is that the bathroom contains a tub shower combination but most videos online seem to show a shower. One video shows a tub shower. We are in a club balcony (cabin 9242) that holds four people. I believe the bed is next to the balcony in this cabin. Does anyone know if this cabin has a shower or a tub shower combination?
  12. I was the original poster and I called and “overpaid” to make sure I was at zero. About a week later a credit (refund) was posted to my ncl credit card for the amount I had “overpaid.” I thought everything was fine and then yesterday my ncl account showed “complete payment of $212.50. I went to make the payment and just like you, the balance due was zero. I called ncl and they said my latest confirmation shows zero due and ignore the info on my NCL. i think it’s a website problem

  14. It didn’t take long. Maybe a week. Moral of the story is to pay what ncl says you owe and wait for a refund. Their accounting in the end was correct.
  15. We were on the waiting list for a shore excursion. We signed up for the waiting list the minute we boarded. No luck so we booked a different excursion. When we were in the theatre waiting for our excursion to be called, we heard them announcing the excursion we really wanted. I went over to the ncl employee after they had processed the cruisers and low and behold 2 people didn’t show up. They allowed us to return our shore excursion tickets on the spot and take the excursion we really wanted. They even got the price difference correctly stated on our on board account. The waiting list doesn’t really work. They don’t know until the last minute and they don’t want to take the time to find you. Go to the 5heatre and keep your ears open.
