    And, to add yet another bus/walking option.  By taking the bus to the Helix Bridge at Expedia across the street from Fuji Bakery, there are elevators at the pedestrian bridge over the railroad tracks and then about ½ mile walk to the pier from there with no stairs. Or, about 1 mile if walking through the Elliott Bay Park on the water side of Expedia.

    Your map information is very helpful.   I will put your "walk from Helix Bridge (has elevator no stairs) " and the "walk from Elliott & Galer (has stairs)" side by side so people can choose which one  they prefer.    May need to zoom in...

    A few cruises ago my wife and I were sitting out on our balcony at pier 91. We saw a lot of people walking on the Gilman trail, it runs along the waterfront from downtown. At dinner that night I was talking to our table mates and they told me they walked from Westlake Center to Pier 91, it's about 3 miles. neither of them were in very good shape to be walking 3 miles, dragging there bags. I think I'd take the link to Waestlake Center and then catch the bus out to Pier 91, a lot of people do that. The stairs on the Magnolia bridge aren't all that bad. You can also get off the bus on Elliott Ave and go across the the street and up the walk way to the Galer street flyover. Look at Google maps it shows the complete route.

    Another way bus and walk from stop.  We have done this before from Elliott Ave & Galer St.  Don't know if the route is still open.   It entails some stairs to cross over the railway.   Not recommend do this with heavy luggage because of stairs.

  3. In March 2018 we used Abercrombie and Kent to go to lodge in Kruger.   I am stating the agent  names because it looks like things could be much different now when I look at the situation at the Maputo/South Africa border.

    We had to get an Exit Stamp from Maputo in a building close to the border.   Then a few yards away there was another building where we got the South Africa Lebombo Visitors permit stamp.  Again because of Covid you may have to do some research.

    Trying to complete as much information on the app as I can beforehand.  When I get to the "checklist", it says I need 3 things.

    1) Proof of Covid 19 Vaccination,

    2) Negative Covid 19 test results, and

    3) Complete Health Assessment.

     I know numbers 2 and 3 cannot be done until closer to time of cruise.  However, number 1 is grayed out for both me and my husband and will not allow me to download anything.  Any idea how I do this?

    I did put in my HAL booking number and it automatically brought both of us up.  Could it be that we already sent copies of our vaccinations to Holland?

    ====

    I don't think your #1 was addressed but I am in the same situation where #1 was grayed out for an Alaska August cruise.   I did a Verifly download and it said I have no data on file.  I wonder if you can do a dummy pass for an Airline to see if you can upload vaccination record.   Also I wonder whether Verifly keeps the vaccination record.

  6. Drinking Bottled Still Water contributes to our feeling good   >>We Want Bottled Still Water<<.

    They have them in glass bottle containers which are recycled.  It is a luxury but this is what we want so it is no use trying to persuade those who prefer to drink bottled water to drink ship's water.

    Any recommendations on best way / value for getting bottled water for our cabin?  We have the signature beverage package; so can we just ask for small bottles from a bar to take back? Seems like a hassle and a waste of one or two of our 15 daily beverages.  Is it better to just take it out of the room minibar?  Precruise purchased water packages seem expensive.  I saw than you cannot bring any water in a plastic container on board at any port. P.S. my wife will not drink the water out of the tap.  Suggestions?

    =====

    We get 1 Liter Still Water (Jan 2022 they had Aqua Panna) from the coffee bar and take it back to our room.   I will soon find out if you can use Have It All to get the water no charge.   I  do not drink alcohol nor coffee.   Using up expiring credits for Have It All.   Anyone want to trade water for beer?  just kidding.

    Yes so much easier. As long as you don’t get someone in front of you (in the wrong line) who hasn’t done it. If you have VeriFLY and ArriveCAN you are golden!!  Fast in!!

    =====

    oh my.  So Canada wants ArriveCAN.   This confirms what I read from HAL website just now.   My Alaska cruise is round trip August 13 from Pier 91 Seattle and stops at Victoria.

  9. Hello,

    I could not find an answer to question in heading. Does Holland America Keep Vaccine Record submitted.

    On my upcoming Alaskan cruise Vaccine Record does not allow me to add Vaccine record to the Verifly App.

    It does say within 48 hours of booking but I had changed reservations etc.  Don't know  if that is why

    cannot upload vaccine record.  It would make sense if HAL kept Vaccine record from past cruises.

    We have had two cruises with "complete" Vaccine record including Hawaii Safe Travels app.

    Appreciate all answers.  Thanks.

  10. Jacqui we (Peter and Harry) are sorry about your loss. Although I have not posted much I have followed your struggles and did not want to bother you.     We were on several private excursions with you and Jose and decided you were very nice people.

  11. We are flying to Vancouver in May to take Alaskan cruise.   We are using HAL Flight Ease and transport to take us straight to the ship.   We will have taken our usual PCR test (results in 10 hours) the day before we cruise. This will satisfy both Canada and HAL boarding requirements. What test (probably PCR) HAL needs to do to get us to disembark  at Vancouver is between HAL and Canada.

    Kirk - since we're on the same SoPac cruise and Volendam this summer, would be interested to know the dates your kits show and if there's a note that says the date on the box is extended past that.  Thanks.  Barb

    PS - how far out were you able to schedule your test? (assume it's for the Canal cruise?)

    ====

    hi Zelker,

    Not Kirk.   Perhaps you have not seen the many posts on Abbott Kits.   Currently they all expire Nov 2022 which is the date on the box.   There is no extension date for these new supplies.   I purchased two sets at different times.
