  1. I've only been to HMC and we loved it! We will be on Princess Cays next week. I loved that the cabanas on HMC are on the beach, but I read that the cabanas on PC are not directly on the beach. I also have my water shoes ready for PC. I've read that the water can be a bit rocky in places. I think we'll enjoy either one but HMC seems to be the favorite of the many.

  2. As a shareholder I think it is underpriced. The demand seems to still outweigh supply.

My next 4 day cruise in a balcony, 2 ppl, w taxes fees insurance is around $550. There is no value to me increasing my costs approximately 10% to be on or off “first” or a raft of other smaller perks that do not make a material difference in my trip. But I will thank those that purchase on the day my dividends clear.

How did you get such a great rate?

  3. Disappointment and upset are two different things.......

My point is it's hard to believe that anyone wouldn't be upset, disappointed, angry, whatever word you want to use, especially when you've been planning a trip for two years as the poster above stated. Sometimes people just need to vent. As long as the OP doesn't take it out on the crew members or other passengers, she is not wrong to be upset According to her updated post, she was looking forward to the cruise and everything was good.

  4. Years ago, we boarded the Paradise in Miami. The ship pulled away from the dock and headed out the channel. As soon as we got past the channel markers, the ship turned around and headed back to the dock. A couple of hours later, the Captain told us that there was an issue with one of the Azipods and our cruise was cancelled. Were we highly upset? No..things happen. You just go with the flow. Sure..we waited 2 years for this cruise then this happened. We stayed on the ship for 2 days waiting for Carnival to get us on a flight home. Meanwhile, we had food to eat and a place to sleep. Plus we were reimbursed quite nicely.

So you waited 2 years for this cruise and weren't the least bit upset? Hard to believe. Even the most patient and understanding person would have felt some disappointment.

  5. Over a missing (but returned) bag. I guess the moral of this story kiddies is to keep bitching until you get what you think you should get immaterial to what you are actually entitled to. SMH.

So obviously, you told them where they could stick that free cruise, right?

Or the moral is if you know you are in the right, then don't give up despite other peoples' criticisms. Evidently Carnival was wrong, owned up to it and decided to do the right thing? Who are you to decide what someone is actually entitled to? SMH

  6. Here is some info I found on Carnival's website:

So the 8 x 10 package does not include the fun shots or cruise collectibles photos?

  7. Our canvas is still in a tube from 4 years ago.

No, I don't think the $99 package held a candle to the $249 Pixel Max - Digital package we had last month.

8x10's are already $15/each. So, you're paying $24 for the canvas.

Our cruise is only 4 days so I was never interested in any other package. I think they should charge per day like they do Cheers. If the 8 x 10's are around $15 then I'll probably just buy pictures individually. On our last cruise we didn't buy any pictures.

  8. G and I went snorkeling a bit later in the morning, and the snorkeling was really great! I bought one of those weird new one piece snorkel masks off Amazon, and I have to say it worked great. We saw alot of different fish and found sea biscuits and conch shells to keep. There is a life guard and at one point he and G were chatting about the fish, when we told G to “wait a minute”, went off and got a hot dog from the buffet and then threw it down into the water below him in a rocky area. We were pleased to see a grouper come out and snatch the hotdog pieces as they came floating by. He must hang out there a lot since the lifeguard new about him and was nice of the guard to share that trick with us. I got some good video and photos with my goPro that I will try to share later.

At 4:15 they were doing a Build A Bear workshop, and I thought it would be fun for B. He was a little late getting up from his nap and still tired, so he wasnt all that enthralled by it at first. He did enjoy the cookie though (yes they had snacks).

He picked out a turtle to make which was really cute. The shell actually comes off like a backpack. For those that are interested in doing this, they have snacks and music, and you simply put your name on a list when you get there. They they call up about 5 kids (or adults!) at a time to make their bear so that the stations don’t get too crowded. There are coloring pages to keep the kids occupied as well while they wait. Its expensive for a stuffed animal, but you are paying for the fun experience really. We opted not to purchase any clothes for our turtle, but he came with a birth certificate as well as a little backpack that B could wear to carry him around. The ships photographer was there to take a photo.

Great to hear about the snorkeling. We purchased the Beach Party excursion that comes with snorkel gear and the paddleboat. Which snorkel mask did you purchase from Amazon and what was the price?

Also, how much for the Build a Bear turtle that you purchased for your son? My daughter is much older than your son, but I think she will enjoy it--but for a reasonable price.

  9. We then went for a little walk and checked our pixels pictures and chose the five we wanted (5 8x10s and a 16x20 canvas). They said to pick up the canvas that night at 10:30 PM.

I was thinking about getting this package. I would only pay $90 if I use the AARP gift card and get 10% off. How many pictures did you have taken? Which ones did you choose? I'm sure I'll have a hard time picking only 5, but I don't want to pay a lot for only a 4 day cruise. I'm also undecided about the canvas. I'll probably never get it framed so is it even worth it even if it comes with the package?
