  1. My daughter is 14 (February 24), but she is mature both physically and mentally (her two best friends are 16). I am wondering if there is someone I can contact to ask if she can be moved to the 15-17 year old group before our June 24 cruise on the Liberty. I know it's up to the counselors but I'm hoping that her chances will increase by asking in advance.

Also for the HUB app, I read that children can only chat with the adults they are in the room with and not with other children or adults. Is this true? We will have a group of 19 on the cruise and I want to make sure that we can all chat with each other.

  2. This time, we pre booked a tour of the island with Tyrone Wilson Tours. We had about 10 people on the tour in a very comfortable air conditioned Nissan Van. We had a driver (sorry, but I forgot his name) that has been doing tours in Nassau for over 40 years and he was excellent as our guide. We had a 4 1/2 tour for $30PP. We were taken to all the major highlites including Paradise Island where we had about 45 minutes to explore on our own, to the Queens Staircase where he dropped us off on the top and we walked DOWN where we were met once again. We visited a perfume factory, a Rum cake factory a chocolate factory. All in all we were very satisfied. Those that wanted to get off by Junkanoo beach were able to and they made their way back to the ship on their own.

I would highly recommend this tour company.

    Cheers

We want to do Tyrone Wilson's tour, but I thought the tour was only 3 hours. Our ship docks at 10 so we would have to do the 1 pm tour. The ship leaves at 6. I would like to be back by 5 at the latest. Also, what were you able to see at Atlantis? I read that a lot of things are restricted to resort or excursion guests. Finally, the perfume factory wasn't listed on the website when I checked. Is it something new. What did you see or do there?

  3. Just back from Princess Cays. The tenders were very efficient. On our sailing, there was no need to get tender tickets and wait to be called. We were told to go forward, only to be sent back to midship as the forward tender was full. Nice white sand, but water shoes are a must if you want to get in the water. The walk into the water is sandy, then shells and small rocks, followed by large boulders with slimy seaweed on them. If you walk out about 25 feet from shore, you will find nice sandy bottom. There was an area for snorkeling. Shade is at a premium. We took our time getting to the island, so we had to scout out a shade tree, as all the loungers were taken under the pavilions scattered about. Tendering back was also easy. There are stone pathways, and the sand was also walkable. We went left as we got off the tenders and walked almost to the dining pavilion before finding a shade tree.

    How deep is the water?

  4. We will visit Princess Cays on our Carnival cruise in June. Looking at Princess Cays excursions (from the Princess Cruise Line), they have the aqua bikes and banana boat excursion to purchase. However, on the Carnival website none of those things are listed. Is there any way those items will be available to rent on the island or are the excursions listed on Carnival's website the only ones?

  5. I want to purchase the excursion that includes a locker, snorkeling gear, and a paddleboat for Princess Cays. Any excursion comes with priority tender. However, I do not want to be on the first tender because we are there from 8 am - 5 pm and I want to sleep in. Is priority tender just for the first tender or will I be allowed on the boat first whenever I show up (around 10 am or so)?

  6. If you dine in the Steakhouse on the first night I've heard they offer a free bottle of wine (which I heard is not so great) or 50% off other bottles. We don't drink much, but might be interested in purchasing a bottle that is better than the free one, but not over $100. What are the price ranges of the wine? And what are some decent wines that don't cost an arm and a leg?

  7. I'm thinking about getting the excursion that includes a 4-person paddle wheeler, snorkeling gear and a locker when we visit Princess Cays. You get to tender to the island first if you purchase an excursion. We will have access to the equipment from 8 am - 2 pm. I would like to know if the priority boarding is available only for the first tender or can we use it for a later time? Will they rent the equipment if I don't get to the island by a certain time. I don't want to get up that early to get on the island, but I do want to take advantage of the amenities.

Also, we will be on the Carnival Liberty. Do they have aqua bikes for rent? On the Princess Cays website they have several different rentals available, including the aqua bike, but not on the Carnival website. Are you only able to rent some things on the island and not beforehand?

  8. Great questions. We are going on the Carnival Liberty and I also want to know how the watersports on Princess Cay differ between the cruise ships. I found a website that lists all of the watersports and rentals when on the Princess Cruise line, but when I went to the Carnival excursions page I only saw a few of them. I would like to do the water bike but only the paddlewheeler is listed.
