  1. Just checked the Celebrity site, I normally look elsewhere first, and the east bound Apex TA in 2024 has a Royal Suite at $17,127 per person, so, yes, about $1000 less than what I first stated...but still, crazy expensive.
  2. I quoted the east bound TA in 2024. A comparison to this years at $8977 pp…. A year later at $18106 pp….and 2 days shorter…. Hey if X can get it more power to them…. But I’m not biting at that price…
  3. Not looking for 2019 prices, that's unreasonable. But considering the price for a CS on Apex's TA in April 2024 is now well more than 150% more than it was in 2019 on Silhouette's April TA..... that's ALSO unreasonable. Or the 2019 price for a Royal Suite on a 13 night Silhouette TA at $5899 per person and now priced at $18106 per person for the 2024 13 night April TA...... not reasonable either. We love cruising, we also have been lucky enough to enjoy a CS and on a rare occasion an RS but these prices are crazy...... we'll see what the future brings.
  4. Hope you enjoy both cruises. Sounds like you did get a great rate for Hawaii. We love to cruise too...... just have trouble justifying the rates as they are set today.
  5. We are on the Apex TA in April and expect it will be our last Celebrity cruise unless something drastic happens with pricing. We have loved the product in the past but it is just becoming prohibitive price wise. The same is true for most other lines, so we, like others are looking at different vacation options. I hope things will improve in time but really don't expect a reversal of this trend in the foreseeable future.
  6. Would love to see some new menus for Luminae. We will be on her for 15 nights on the April TA, so hoping there are some new items since our last sailing in November.
  7. We never asked for anything more than water which they were happy to supply. Never thought to ask for anything else while in a CS as it's, officially anyway, "not" included.
  8. This was one of my complaints on the November 22 Apex TA. Lots of trivia, but little else to do during the day.
  9. Was that on the Apex TA last fall? I saw the exact same thing..........😆
  10. Having sailed in Sky Suites, Celebrity Suites, Royal Suites, Aqua & regular verandas on X I CAN say that, YES, if you are in a Royal Suite or higher you DO get special consideration once your "status" is recognized, in a Sky or Celebrity outside of the stated suite benefits you are treated just like Aqua, veranda, inside...etc... when wandering the ships. I believe TeeRick was in a Sky or Celebrity Suite so his observations are correct .........
  11. Does anyone know who the current cruise director is on Apex and how much longer they expect to be on that ship?
  12. We were in a CS on the Apex TA last November and had rough seas for several days from hurricane swells. I remember when standing outside The Club waiting for an elevator thinking that the creaking was so loud it sounded as if the ship was going to crack in half. It was really bad inside the suite for those days too. Only kept me awake on the worst rough sea days but it seems this class of ship has more than its share of creaky noises.
  13. Do these tours end with lunch in one of the specialty restaurants? The only time we've done one of these was on Reflection back in 2016 and it ended with lunch at Murano's.
  14. Hopefully that's what we will find when we board Apex April 22 for the Eastbound TA.
  15. Agree it may vary by ship. My experience on S class ships is from our sailings from 2015 to 2020 all on S class ships and in every case the service in the Retreat(then Michael's) was excellent. We loved it. We have only experienced the Retreat lounge on the E class once, the Apex TA last fall. It's a lovely area but as I said the bartender, Johnson, was left to handle the room most of the times we were there. We will be trying it again on the TA this April.
  16. The snacks are nice but we found service quite lacking in the Retreat Lounge. Most of the time we went to the bar to get our drinks before dinner. There were far too many days when there was no other server than the bartender and he was trying his best to take care of everyone. While it's a beautiful area we prefer the lounge on the "S" class.
  17. Glad you are having a great cruise. Really ought to find a night to have dinner in Luminae, it really is excellent and service as good as any of the specialties.
  18. Thanks for posting a dear friend is boarding today for his first cruise in over 20 years. I am hopeful he and his wife will feel the same as you did!!
  19. I really don't understand the change in beef selections. Royal Caribbean, which just introduced new MDR menus, have prime rib, filets and other beef items included on the menus. Why would Celebrity, which is part RCI, not offer the same? It makes no sense.
  20. Just another of the many reasons to stay away from the buffet........
  21. There was a filet available every night on the Apex TA in November, hopefully will still be available on the one this April. It was NOT part of the anytime menu, but the wait staff made sure we knew about it. Also available was a pasta dish each night.
  22. Does anyone have any idea of the menu for the dinner being sold for the Magic Carpet for our sailing in the cruise planner for the Apex TA coming up i April? It's something like $119.00 per person but I can't find a menu anywhere for it and the normal menu doesn't reflect anything that could cost this much. I am "assuming" it includes wine but there is no description of the dinner that explains what is included.
