  1. Prices are crazy for the same old, same old itineraries.... we've got the Apex TA in April and then we are booking elsewhere.... unfortunate but true.
  2. It's too bad, we really love the Celebrity suite product but not enough to break the bank. My first TA in a Celebrity Suite in 2015 was about $3500. per person for a 16 night cruise. Now a 14 night is charging more that 3 times that total ..... yes, there has been inflation...but this is nuts. Waiting to see what Princess, HAL and Royal have to offer, or maybe time to just find other vacations.
  3. Celebrity suites on the Apex 13 night Spring 2024 TA is going for almost $4000($11945pp) more per person total than the Apex 14 night Spring 2023 TA. $11K plus per person is insane. The Beyond going to Rome even more. Looking elsewhere.....
  4. I wish there was somewhere on the website that states this. All I can find is this, which does not list an amount: Should you choose to change your original ship and/or sail date, if you booked directly with us, please contact our Consumer Outreach team at (866) 562-7625 where a representative will assist in making the desired changes, while also applying the qualifying change fee(s) and collecting payment, if not already done so.
  5. Interesting that a TA can provide a refundable deposit when the cruiseline doesn't. I may ask the TA I've used in the past if they can do the same without any increase in fare.
  6. Wow....the TA's have nothing new..... 😟
  7. Where are they available....haven't seen any.... HELP!!!!
  8. The only transatlantics available so far is the Eclipse from Cape Liberty to Iceland and back to Boston... hope the rest are loaded soon.
  9. Ok, but that was a $100.00 penalty not the full amount as it is now. We switch between Celebrity and Royal, Celebrity offers refundable for all categories and still has just the $100pp penalty when you choose nonrefundable.
  10. Yes, this is what I found on the website yesterday. Too bad, we didn't book anything at all. I'm willing to lose $100 but sure as heck not willing to lose $900, which was the deposit we needed to pay. When a cruise is nearly 2 years out there's just no way of telling if plans may change. So we'll be looking elsewhere than Royal for everything except last minute sailings.
  11. Have been looking at the website and I can't figure out how to book a refundable deposit cruise. Is it possible to do that or do you have to call?
  12. We have $1100 OBC for an Apex TA in April and have booked a couple of smaller group tours with Celebrity. We were on the Apex TA that just ended and had $600 OBC and found ourselves on the last night with half of it still left. We did try to get into the steak house to use up some of it but they were full. So we played some slots, something we never do and still left some on board. Don't want to do that again. There is always the spa but the thought of blowing $200 or so on a mediocre 50 minute massage seemed even worse than playing the slots. So we're trying the smaller group tours and we'll see how it goes.
  13. Definitely hire a private car to insure you get there early enough. Heathrow is a nightmare, at least it was last May. It took us over 3 hours to go from walking in the terminal and getting to the gate. Have you looked at flights from Gatwick? That's what we plan to do the next time we have to fly out of England.
  14. Well....would love to but when I sign into our account on the Celebrity website there is no way to access Shore Excursions. Anyone else have this issue? Can't even confirm the two I already have booked are still there......
  15. Yes, it's definitely worth going once. We thought it was fun!!
  16. I can certainly understand you wanting to see these areas, especially San Gimignano, but as others have said you will be riding for at LEAST 6-8 hours that day, 3-4 each way. So how much time will you have at the sites you want to visit? Will an hour or two be enough for you? We recently took a transport from Rome to Pisa area which took every bit of 4 hours. If we had it to do over we would look much more seriously at the high speed train.
  17. Yes....mostly. There is an area right behind the host/hostess station where this is not so much the case, at least not as much as the rest of the room which is very close together. We were lucky we were seated in that front area every night.
  18. Pretty sure you are talking about Wida, not Wilda in Luminae, she was wonderful on the TA a few weeks ago, along with Marcus from Brazil. We were lucky to be seated in their section for every meal except one breakfast.
  19. We were just in a CS on the Apex a few weeks ago. We love the CS on "S" class ships, especially that big balcony in the ones on the hump. The CS on Apex was very nice, the balcony was fine, but much smaller and no lounge on it, just chairs and 2 tables. I missed the lounge. There is more than enough storage in the Apex CS but missed the walk in closet that the "S" class has. The bed is larger in the Apex CS and more comfortable than the "S" class. Bathroom is very nice on both, though they older we get the more getting into that bathtub/shower becomes an issue. The Retreat areas are very nice on both, though we like the Retreat(Michael's)lounge on the "S" class more. I'm sure you will enjoy your cruise, but the Edge is a completely different Celebrity experience.
