We did late seating on the Pride in December and I have to say that we did not experience excellent service. While our servers were nice and friendly, the food took forever to come out and dinner was lasted longer than an hour (usually closer to 1.5 hours) every night. It took way too long.

Does Carnival ever offer reduced deposit (i.e. less than $250/person) for the Past Guest rate, or is that only ever offered with Early Saver?
Thank you for any clarity you can provide.

I don't have a picture of the menu, but if you scroll down on this link there are photos and descriptions of the entire Chefs Table from start to finish...

Well, it looks like you'll have to copy and paste the link, sorry...
Also, thank you to you for linking to this thread! Looks like I missed the thread of the year!

I am also looking for info about the CT on Horizon. I have been to CT on the Pride and very much enjoyed it. I'm excited to try Horizon's as I know dinner is served in the galley.

I tried the cheesecake on my last cruise in December and thought it looked way better than it tasted. However, I do think the chocolate chip cookies from the bakery are delicious.

Great post! Thank you!

odd question regarding the pig and anchor. It seems to have replaced the red frog brewery from the vista. Same place on the ship....same layout....just different decorations. My husband and his brother spent most of their down time at the red frog playing corn hole...it's a bean bag toss game. There was also many other families planning board games there. Is this still there?
I have been wondering the same thing. Anxious to see replies.

Here's an article from the Washington Post about Darian and Carnival

JH posted some pictures of cabin 3248 last week. Not an inside, but you'll still get an idea of the cabin setup.

The new menu is $95 and the old menu is $75. Some ships haven't yet switched to the new menu.

Omg steakhouse on the valor. We went Thanksgiving day. Check out my review, I posted pictures.
https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2572594
My cousin had the cowboy steak, we all had other things like lamb chops, lobster tail, lobster ravioli . We could barely finish , stuffed to the gills. We had several desserts at the table, the chocolate sampler was delicious, my sister had fresh berries. I had the crab cake for appetizer and they brought an amuse bouche- a very tiny bite sized burger, I believe it was lamb, since we went the first night, we had choice of free wine or half off, we took free and I was the only wine drinker so I asked them to save the second bottle for me to take and they did. We had two different reservations so they treated as two. But we sat at the same table. Best 35.00 ever! I will try to do the steakhouse at least once every cruise going forward. I will try to book it earlier in the day though, as soon as they open because it was late, on the first day and we were tired.

Thank you for that link! I'm not going on the Valor, but I love reading reviews and had previously missed yours!

We were there in December and I believe that snorkel gear was $20/set to rent for the day.

The ordering at 9:55 must be frantic.

It's open on port days, but I'm not sure about day of departure.

We did a really fun (non-Carnival) electric bike tour in Freeport by CocoNutz Cruisers. I highly recommend it!

Thank you, everyone! I really appreciate your input. I will definitely take a look at that other thread!

We have booked Early Dining for our upcoming cruise on the Horizon in July. We know that we don't want Late (which we had on our most recent cruise on the Pride in December - it was just too late for us), but we are wondering if we should switch to YTD. I know that this has been hashed out many times on CC and I guess I just wanted to get our indecision in writing. :D
We do enjoy having the same servers every night and we realize that we can request specific servers for YTD. We are also concerned about wait times with YTD, because of course we will probably end up there around 7:00 every night. Our concern about Early is that we won't be hungry at 6:00; we usually eat lunch around 1:00 on Sea Days. Ugh! Early is already on a waitlist on our sailing, but YTD and Late are still open. I'm guessing that YTD will be the next to go on a waitlist?

We're booked for July 31, 2018!

I was on the 12/17 sailing and the steakhouse and deli did NOT have the new menu.

Does anyone know the earliest arrival time for the 8-day Horizon cruises out of NYC? I was able to choose 11:30 am for the 7/31 sailing and I was wondering if earlier times were offered. Thanks!

How recently did you sail?
We sailed on 12/17/17.

I found it to be extremely frustrating and not worth the price.

Hahahaha! Sorry she broke your heart! I've heard she can be cruel like that!
