We're boarding in San Fran for the same. I think you'll love QE. While not a liner, she is the epitome of class. We just disembarked her on the 7th of this month after Alaska and were thrilled to learn this voyage was still available. Though we've never experienced Grills, we can't wait to reboard her on Sunday! Safe travels!

In order to qualify for the OBC on Cunard, is proof of share ownership that of Carnival Corp (CCL) shares? If so, what is the minimum number of shares?

Just off QE and spent some time at the pub with another guest who was a travel agent. Although it's become fairly obvious, he confirmed that Bid On An Upgrade had now been rolled out to eligible booking made through a TA.

Apologies to this thread. I mistyped. The spa access for the full 14 day voyage was $179pp, not $279pp as I posted above. This was from July 7 - 21, 2023 including embarkation day.

Did a 14 day RT last month. Full voyage pass was $279pp. Hours are now 7:30a - 7:30p

@fourmile.ranchAre you enjoying Alaska?
This has been my favorite voyage yet! Amazing mix of a great crew with a friendly group of pax. But for Juneau, I don't know. We stayed onboard as we do most ports.

We were docked this morning. Between 10:30a and noon she relocated and switched to tendering for the remainder of our time. Busy day indeed!

I know the original question was to a balcony cabin but for those interested there is a bonanza of outlets in this stateroom. Cabin 1002, Oceanview on QE, has the standard arrangement over the desk and goes on with 4 UK plugs over the sofa, 2 UK plugs next to the bed and 2 more UK plugs at the foot of the bed beneath the TV.

Just boarded QE and can confirm this is correct. According to our bartender the service charge is collected and then shared throughout the staff in the same manner automatic gratuities. Cash tips are kept by the person to whom it is given.

Just wanted to ask this as I haven't seen in this thread. The status on my bid became 'Expired' with no accompanying email. When I inquired with Cunard this was their response:
Good afternoon, I hope all is well. My manager investigated the screenshot you sent me and was able to confirm the offer itself has expired. This is likely because another bidder has now won the upgrade. Thank you for patiently waiting for my Response.
Is this the normal status when a bid is unsuccessful?

Maybe make it a theme voyage. Once or twice a year have a 'Relaxed at Sea' crossing with no formal nights and the rest of the time is traditional Cunard dress code. Then people can plug in where they fit best and still experience everything that Cunard is.

She diverted Wednesday night towards Halifax for medical emergency. Was met by helicopter which was a feat in the fog. Did not delay our arrival though.

That sounds like an exciting morning, Congratulations on making it !
What time was your flight originally going to board ?
After 10:30. We also had the option of a flight later this afternoon but weather forecasted all day and there aren't many connecting flights to our local airport if there were delays later.

Due to weather in NY our flight home this morning was altered. This is for information only, it is in no way an endorsement.
8:54A Flight boards at LGA
6:10A Depart stateroom and arrive first in line for Fast Track.
6:57A Self-disembarkation begins.
7:05A Clear immigration
7:10A Taxi leaves cruise complex
Heavy Friday morning traffic
7:44A Enter terminal B at LGA
7:53A Clear TSA
8:02A Arrive at departure gate with 52 minutes to spare.
Everything had to go right, thankful it did. And we are fortunate to be flying business which gave us access to short check-in and TSA lines.

This is for anyone else who loves this show but mostly for me since I've seen so many troops perform it. But what happened?
Ok, good news... gone is the melody from Miss Saigon. It was dreadful, went on too long and never really fit the show. It was happily replaced with a Tina Turner melody.
But honestly, we're keeping Guys & Dolls and South Pacific? I don't think any passengers are that old anymore (no offense to those who are). But we're getting rid of all the really cool props and relying on an LCD screen and prerecorded vocals in the background.
But then a melody from Whitney Houston. This troop handled it well but the show is now loaded with too much music that's easy to over-sing.
BUT THE FINALE! You know New York New York with the head pieces and feathers! Light go off, a single note rings out and
another Whitney song. I Wanna Dance With Somebody. Well, I wanna dance with somebody wearing a feathered boa and hat!
Sigh (sad face)

When we first booked a TA on QM2 in 2019, we booked a two-week Westbound sailing with stops in Liverpool, an overnight in Reykjavik, Corner Book Newfoundland, and Halifax. We thought we would fly over early and spend few days touring before joining the ship. It turned out to be cheaper for us to sail the preceding Eastbound crossing in an inside cabin and meant only an extra two days out of the office.
Our first time on Cunard was a one way westbound TA. It was our table mates at dinner who tsk tsk-ed for spending more to fly to London than had we sailed both directions. We've sailed roundtrip ever since. @steve4031 is correct on cost of business class seats for those of us not fortunate enough to fly out of a major airport. Airfare to a US port is much more tolerable.

Just a couple observations. We are currently onboard and most nights my husband orders a sirloin steak and baked potato in Britannia. It isn't just for Club.
Also I mentioned the other morning that breakfast seemed to be taking unusually long. This morning, after watching our waiter hunt down each item on his hand held tablet, he confirmed that today is the 2nd day they have had to use the tablets at breakfast. If I understood him correctly, the tablets have been in use at dinner for 6 days. I would assume that is slowing things a bit as they get more familiar with them.
