  1. What age limit would you have? Our son is 12 and we certainly expect him to sit quietly when we eat (and he doesn’t let us down).

I did take him to Le Bistro last cruise, as my wife isn’t a fan. The staff seemed quite surprised to see someone his age there. They said they get very few kids there, and I don’t recall seeing many in the past. In fact, I wouldn’t say I recall seeing many kids in the speciality restaurants at all. More often than not there are none (or just one if we have taken our son).

I’m not particularly disagreeing with you, by the way, just not sure how much of an issue this is. Maybe it’s more a location thing (we tend to cruise in Europe mostly).

I'd imagine adults only would imply 18+

  2. Did you ever think that maybe different cruise lines have different companies that they use for the devices, therefore, they might not all be the same? Or they may have them configured differently? The ones we had on Celebrity DID work to charge your things without the card from what I remember. Carnival does NOT. More specifically the Vista does NOT. If they did then I wouldn't have found out the hard way and my Room Steward certainly wouldn't have lied to my face when he confirmed it. No incorrect info here, Bub.
My apologies. I thought this was the Carnival forum.

And the outlets on the Vista most certainly worked with the lights off. I spent three straight weeks on her and had no problem charging items at night.

  3. so many differing opinions and some facts on whether the outlets stay powered when the lights are off. All I can say is I'd sleep with the lights on if that was necessary to keep my CPAP working while I sleep. It doesn't make sense, not that that is a good reason.
The outlets still work. Anyone who tells you different is providing incorrect information.

  4. We have never bought Cheers and never plan on doing it. I always try different drinks and if I don't like them, they always make me another one and they never charge me for it. I have sent a drink back 3 times because it was not made to my liking and ended up with 3 free ones while only paying for 1. We never keep track of how much we are drinking and have never spent over what it would cost if we got Cheers. We also do not drink coffee, soda, milkshakes etc. Last cruise was a 5 day and we only spent $249 between the both of us on liquor, and we drank generously--we also got a few free drinks from the bartenders (as we tip very generously). You would be surprised what a smile and a wink will do for you.

You clearly keep track of your drinking if you can spout off your total bar tab.
