  1. I think because they heat the pools they feel the need to chlorinate the salt water, if they replenished the water daily this would not be necessary but heating the ocean temp water to a comfortable swimming temp takes quite a bit of time so they chlorinate to avoid algae growth and disease contamination.

Just wanted to add that I am 6'1" and at least when I have been on board the Marina and Riviera, the pools have been filled to a level above my height and as mentioned before I except for the stairs it is consistent throughout the pool.

  2. At 5:30am (Pacific time)this morning (July 17) my travel agent was unable to book any of the 6 Owners suites because they were already taken, she was only able to join the waitlists for those suites at that time so Oceania definately hasn't updated their public Computer listings.

  3. "Some people may just book the cruise to get the cabin they want then cancel part of the cruise when the segments open up in Sept

    Just guessing on that scenario"

I don't think that would be possible, most catagories are waitlisted for the full world cruise and the people on the waitlist would move into position before individual cancellations of World cruise bookings would be opened to segmenters and when the segment offerings are offered on September 17 there will undoubtably be others waitlisted for most catagories on the segments as well so people pulling such shenanigans would likely find them selves far down on the segment waitlist and likely without a cabin for the World Cruise or its segments.

  4. We were on a Caribbean cruise on the Marina last year and I would say there were 5-6 gay couples on board, there was a LGBT meetup but only one other couple showed. We had a great time and currently have 3 more Oceania cruises booked. We may be weird but even at home we socialize with straight folks about 60% of the time, if you socialize more exclusively with gay guys you may have to bring them with you on Oceania, of course some destinations or particular cruises may also have more gay folks on them than we experienced.

  5. Just thought I would mention this because there have been so many threads here regarding anti-gay Caribbean islands (i.e. Jamaica, etc.). Historically, the Castro government has been very anti-gay, imprisoning and persecuting gays for being gay since the sixties. There seem to be many changes in Cuba these days but don't expect this small, isolated country to become San Francisco overnight.

  6. Not trying to be the devil's advocate here but am I the only one who thinks that maybe the Lesbians were rejected from the "Newlywed" game BECAUSE they were together for 14 years....Isn't that game supposed to be for people who have been together a relatively short time and don't really know each other very well? Or is there something I'm missing?
