  1. TThank you so much for this great port info website.  I’m just starting research for a Jan 2020 cruise (Oceania Marina). We will be one of three in Costa Maya, our first time there, but one of 5 the next day in Cozumel!  Will have to plan carefully.

  2. This is a wonderful review.  We are anxiously watching for the Dec 2020 cruise to be available, will book ASAP,  it is our dream to get back to AU after a Jan 2017 work trip to Sydney and Melbourne.  Goodness knows Regatta’s condition by then, hopefully a drydock before.  We loved Rivieria a few years ago and are sailing Panama Canal (Santiago to Miami) Jan 2020 on Marina.

  3. On HAL N Amsterdam, in Ketchikan on Thur 8/23, 10-6: was planning on bus to Totem Bight, but not sure we want to commit 90 min to bus ride. How much is cabfare, and are there enough cabs available with 4 ships in town?

  4. Your review is terrific. Mom, DH and I are booked in August on NA ,actually picking it up in Skagway after the 9-day land tour, and ending in Vancouver. It will be our first with HAL, (7 previous with Oceania, Carnival, Celebrity, NCCL and Princess). I feel lucky that we are sailing on her so soon after coming out of drydock - your good review and many others prove HAL did a great job. We do have one dinner booked in PG, and I'm seriously considering Tamarind, as there have been many not-so-great MDR comments. This will be my retirement celebration so I want to make sure the food is great.

  5. Oceania gets my vote, based on two cruises with them, as well as others with Carnival, RCCL, Celebrity and Princess. We are trying HAL/N Amsterdam to Alaska for the first time in a few weeks: DH had specific requirements for the land tour and they have it, We are booked on Oceania/Marina in Jan 2020, through the Panama Canal and I'm a bit concerned based on reports here since the NCL acquisition. When did that happen? NCL needs to leave Oceania 'untouched'!!!!

  6. Yes, the train 'height' issue will be a challenge for me also on our first trip in Aug. But will overcome as the trip will be amazing. Another recommendation for motion sickness: keep a MODERATELY full stomach, meaning occasional snacking. This seems to help me, along with of course NEVER reading while in motion in any vehicle. And I've fared quite well on 7 cruises.

  7. We will be in Ketchikan on 8/23 with HAL N. Amsterdam on 1st AK trip. Have booked Duck tour, then will walk

or take free shuttle to Creek St and Heritage Center. I do hope for time to take funicular as it looks quite convenient to Creek St. Research shows much to do there! Kayaking also looks great, but we'll do things my senior mom can handle.

  8. We are booked on N Amsterdam for the August 18th Alaska trip. It will be our first with HAL (7 previous on other lines) so I've been eagerly following all feedback on the December major overhaul. Comments have been very good, plus a few pix here and there. Hopefully more pix will be available soon. Definitely looking forward to the trip, as I will be retired by then!!!
