Since the ShoreEx discounts started two years ago, NCL has never properly applied the discounts on excursions booked in Advance over the phone.

To say "never" is wholly inaccurate.  I have made excursion bookings over the phone for several cruises over the past two years and only had a couple of instances where the Latitudes discount was not applied.  Should you confirm that the discounts have been properly applied?  Absolutely, but it has been the exception more than the rule that NCL has not properly billed the excursion in my experience.  Indeed, for my most recent booking, the NCL rep told me precisely what would be billed for each excursion after Latitude discounts and SEC.

BUT, do watch your account right up to the moment you disembark.  A couple of cruises back, NCL billed me for two pool towels at 8:30 am just before I was to disembark.  Thankfully, I get instantaneous alerts from by card provider when charges are posted and I was able to go to customer service to get this incorrect charge reversed - the towels were in my stateroom, right where the steward put them on embarkation day.

You just need to look. People who work very hard on the Epic to make your cruise memorable. Police hogs moving your stuff after it sits alone for several hours. Clean up after you. Stock your toilet paper. Clean and set your tables. Wash your dishes. Cook your grub.

You too missed the point. Humor too subtle for you I guess. 🧐

Hmm, sounds like something they are doing for the Joy or specific ports? As all posters in non-Havens reporting receiving tags via mail seem to have sailed on the Joy. I have sailed out of Miami and NYC multiple times and never received tags I the mail.

My experience out of NYC is similar to Jaime's, but for my upcoming Epic cruise out of San Juan, I received luggage tags in the mail a few weeks ago.  First time ever.

If I purchase shares today or tomorrow, I won't have a statement yet, because those are only issued monthly and I am sailing on the 15th, so would need to get by form sent in my Sunday. Will a screenshot from my brokerage account work?

Jaimie: I agree with KarlChilders - a trade confirmation from whatever broker you use will suffice.  That's what I used my first time.  If you get close to your sailing date and have not seen the credit added to your account, call the corporate line in Miami; they issued the credit as I was speaking to them.

  5. Thanks KSSS2013, I missed that FAQ posting.  Here is what it states in full:

"I am traveling with other Platinum, Platinum Plus or Ambassador guests in the same stateroom? Do we each get a voucher?

No. If there are 2 Platinum, Platinum Plus or Ambassador members in one stateroom, only one Welcome Back Card will be delivered. This gives the correct number of Dinner for Two vouchers the guests are entitled to.
For 3rd and 4th Platinum, Platinum Plus or Ambassador members in the same stateroom, an additional Welcome Back Card will be delivered.
If there is only a 3rd Platinum, Platinum Plus or Ambassador member in the same stateroom, an additional Welcome Back Card will be delivered but this guest will be treated as a solo traveler who get one dinner only. The benefit is only if there are 2 guests dining on the same visit."

  6. From NCL's website (easy to check 😉)

"This benefit offers two dinners for two at a specialty restaurant for Platinum, Platinum Plus and Ambassador guests. Each stateroom will receive a voucher in their Welcome Back card on embarkation day for:

    • - One dinner for two at Cagney’s or Le Bistro with a bottle of wine
    • - One dinner for two at Moderno or La Cucina
This benefit is no longer delivered per guest but now delivered per stateroom. Service charges are included in this benefit. Guest to present voucher to their server before ordering. Benefit entitles each guest to one appetizer, one entrée and one dessert of your choice. Entrée items up to $20 are covered. For items over this amount, an upcharge will be added to your onboard account."

At least it is real coffee that is drip brewed. Nespresso (like k-cups) is just instant coffee in a pod.

Just one more thing you comment on, but know nothing about.  "Both the brands use capsules for brewing which are sealed packed containers consisting of coffee grounds in the variety of flavors." 🤥

  9. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. Coronavirus Protocol Update

    Updated: 2/18/2020

The safety, security and well-being of our guests and crew is our number one priority. We are aware of a new travel advisory recently issued by the U.S. State Department. We have been closely monitoring the situation and out of an abundance of caution and as a result of the uncertainty surrounding port entry and berthing availability in various destinations in Asia, we previously made the prudent decision to cancel all voyages in Asia across our three brands. A total of 40 voyages have been canceled, modified or redeployed including 24 voyages on Norwegian Cruise Line, 10 on Oceania Cruises and 6 on Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Following these changes, we do not have any vessels deployed in Asia through the end of the third quarter 2020.

In addition, we have proactively implemented several preventative measures to reduce potential exposure and transmission of COVID-19 and to protect the health, safety, security and well-being of our guests and crew. These measures include:

    • Enhanced pre-boarding and onboard health protocols that go above and beyond standard operating procedures.
    • We are denying boarding to any guest and crew who has traveled from, visited or transited via airports in China, including Hong Kong and Macau, within 30 days of their voyage embarkation, regardless of nationality. The standard incubation period recognized by the WHO and US CDC for this virus is 14 days.  Guests who are denied boarding will be issued a refund when they provide proof of travel.
    • Any guest who exhibits symptoms of any respiratory illness while on board will be subject to additional screening at our onboard Medical Center and may be subject to potential quarantine and disembarkation.

    • We have implemented additional cleaning and disinfection protocols on board all voyages. These protocols will be enforced in addition to our already rigorous sanitization standards in place.
    • At this time, there are no significant travel restrictions we are aware of outside of Asia. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and consult with The World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and take appropriate additional action as needed. We appreciate our guests’ patience during this time and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

    This is the rule.

“Guests are not permitted to smoke cigarettes, cigars, pipe, electronic cigarettes and vapor devices in their staterooms or on their balconies.”

“With the exception of Wine and Champagne, all guests are prohibited from bringing alcohol on board NCL ships.”

“No running, jumping or diving are permitted in the pool area.”

“Guests must be at least 18 years of age to receive treatments or utilize the spa facilities unless participating in the kids or teens program.”

“Guests are not permitted to bring and use their own irons or steamers onboard.”

We should follow rules to have a disciplined society.  Rules are put in place to provide order and consequence for actions.  Most cruise lines now have beverage packages that require each adult in the cabin buy the package to prevent drink sharing, in essence penalizing non-drinkers.  Convenience does not justify breaking a rule.

Not a sermon; just a thought.
