I’m a new cruiser (Inspiration 4-day in June) and I’ve been trying to gather as much current info on this topic as it appears Long Beach uses this new procedure and, I too had been curious about how to make purchases prior to receiving our S&S cards at 1:30.
Many thanks for the post as well as all the replies... it’s very helpful!
You use your boarding pass to make purchases until you get your S&S card.

The one excursion that they never post online is the behind the scenes tour of the ship. That one you have to book once you’re on the ship and it’s limit it to about 20 people. Sometimes they will do a second tour if the demand is high but not always.
-
I also have a question about Cove balconies. Is there any noise from the ships engines or from the crew on the lower decks.

If you’re going for Mardi Gras you’re going to miss it, because it’s in February not Apirl. If you do plan on going in February I would start looking way before Fall. You should start looking now for the 2019 Mardi Gras.

Not "implying".
I do pre-pay my tips and I also tip extra to my room steward and the dining room staff. However I’m not gonna let you get away with saying that I have to do it because you do. Quit sticking your nose in everyone else’s business.
-
Nope, still not your business. You have no right to tell anyone else how they need to distribute their own money. Until the cruise lines say this is not allowed, then they perfectly have the right to tip cash as they go if they want to. No need to get your panties in a bunch.
I agree with you 100%. I am sick and tired of people implying that if we don’t tip the way they do, that were cheap or doing something wrong. I’ll tip the way I choose to tip and you choose the way you want to tip.

This thread is 8 years old and the OP hasn't logged in to CC since 2010.
Lets hope that geck_beach is still alive to read these new posts. ;p :D

Not that this makes any difference but the person who posted the video on YouTube is from Canada not the US.

Most off I've seen if 15% and that was through PayPal.
I just checked ebay. I see the completed listing on these, but they were relisted. Seller is someone named reece_bryant114 with negative feedback as a seller.
My guess is that these are not legitimate. Purchase at your own risk.
The last two listings at the 15% off rate were from an eBay seller that was selling the egift cards from PayPal. That seller had over 400,000 positive feedbacks.
-
The ones sold by eBay were legit.
Yes the ones sold on eBay are legit but at a 50% off rate, that sounds too good to be true.

Why would Carnival get sued? It was a mistake, sucked for him being falsely accused, that wasn't their fault, they were told by another passenger that he did something. Yes, they should have checked video surveillance before the interrogation, shame on them, but they offered him a meal in a specialty restaurant to make up for it. I would have personally pushed for something more, maybe an excursion or OBC, but they didn't ignore it.
I think you need to go back and watch the YouTube video again. He deserves a lot more than a free excursion.

On the Breeze it will be in your mailbox.

I also had canceled some fun shop purchases using gift cards. After waiting a week I called them and asked how long it would take for the replacements to arrive. I was told that it could take up to four weeks. However a few days later I received my gift cards. So I guess it depends on who you talk to.

Depending on when your cruise begins, there is a way of changing a e-gift card into a physical gift card.
A few days ago I made a purchase in the fun shop with a e-gift card for a November cruise. After the purchase went through I noticed I had made a mistake. I had ordered a double item. The way carnival sets up purchases in the fun shop you can’t just cancel one item you have to cancel the entire purchase and then re-order the correct amount. So I cancel whole purchase. After waiting four or five days the funds still weren’t added back to my e-card. I called Carnival and they said the funds wouldn’t be put back on the e-card, Instead I would receive the refund on a physical gift card which I would receive the mail in about four weeks.
-
Even if your friend gets a gift card for unused funds, it wouldn’t be in her name, because gift cards don’t get registered to a person. So he or she could give it back to you.

I wish all cruise lines would make it clearer on the tub vs shower... I haven’t had a bath in over 40 years...
I hope you meant " I haven’t had a bath in over 40 years " on a cruise ship. LOL

500 sales were made at $42,500

If possible would someone please post a link? I looked an it says $100 not $85. Thanks in advance!

How do I apply this when I get on the ship? Can I use these for my gratuities? I purchased my cruise through discover travel so I cannot use gift cards through them?
Call Carnival direct to pay for your gratuities. Just tell them you're using a Carnival Gift card.

I also bought 3 and already used 2 of them on my upcoming cruise in Nov.

Don’t let someone talk you out of doing something that you want to do. Everyone’s tastes are different. It’s your cruise, it’s your vacation, do it the way you want to do it, not the way others want you to do it. Now go have a great cruise.

You're not able to use Cheers at HMC. I have a drink calculator on my blog that may help you. http://www.love2cruise.org/drink-packages/
That's a great calculator you have on your blog

I don’t believe it will show up in your booking. However I thought I read online that carnival does not provide medical refrigerators in the staterooms. I’m not 100% sure on that, if I’m wrong, I’m sure someone will correct me.
