  3. Island Princess and Sky Princess spend their summer season visiting Norway. Some of these cruises visit three different fjords.
  4. To answer your question directly, I think NZ is definitely worth a 22 hr flight, but not specifically for the fjords. NZ is a great place to visit. The fjords are a small part of the experience. I fjords are your priority, Norway wins.
  5. We cruised the NZ fjordlands in 2013 on Celebrity Solstice 12 Night Auckland to Sydney. Of the 12 days, we spent one day visiting Dusky, Doubtful, and Milford Sounds (fjords). It was a very enjoyable cruise, stopping at many ports in NZ and Tasmania in Australia. The fjords were one day of a 12 night cruise. Here are the photos from the NZ part. The fjordland pictures are at the end, all taken from the ship. https://bhughes.smugmug.com/Travel/Tahiti-New-Zealand-Sydney-2013/New-Zealand-Nov-2013 In 2023, we are booked on the Island Princess 16 night "Land of the Midnight Sun & Summer Solstice" https://www.princess.com/search-cruise/details/?voyageCode=2310 This cruise visits Songefjord (Skjolden), Norfjord (Olden), and Romsdalsfjord (Andalsnes), on three different days, with a port stop in each one. Look at Skjolden on Google Maps. It is located 200 km from the ocean - that's a really long fjord. The fjords are three days of a 16 night cruise. For both of these cruises, we booked aft balcony cabins. I recommend this for both the NZ or Norway cruise. The aft location allows you to be on you balcony while cruising through the fjords, while sheltered from the wind. A normal balcony, on the sides, would have a lot of wind chill
  6. ATN is having a fare sale at $898 RT Seattle: https://www.airtahitinui.com/us-en/airfare-special/welcome-paradise-seattle-tahiti-898?utm_source=Newsletter&utm_medium=TN+B2C&utm_campaign=seattle And $798 RT LAX/SFO https://www.airtahitinui.com/us-en/airfare-special/return-paradise?utm_source=Newsletter&utm_medium=TN+B2C&utm_campaign=tahiti+on+sale This looks like a pretty good sale with travel through March 2023.
  7. Air Tahiti Nui will start 2x weekly Seattle -PPT flights in October. https://onemileatatime.com/news/air-tahiti-nui-seattle-alaska-airlines/ They are also partnering with the Alaska Airlines mileage program for mileage accrual and award redemptions. This is a nice option for us in the Northwest.
  8. We are headed to Tahiti and Moorea for a resort stay. We had a Tahiti cruise booked on the Pacific Princess, way back in November 2020. Princess cancelled that cruise when they sold the ship to Azamara. I've been looking at FP cruises ever since. But I have not been happy with the "Cruise with Confidence" arrangements that provide a FCC, in the event that you have to cancel. If I fail a covid test, I don't want to have $4000 to $8000 tied up in a FCC. We have opted for a resort stay instead, with 2 nights at the Tahiti Intercontinental and 5 nights at the Moorea Hilton. Even though I'm not on a cruise, I figure my CC friends may some interest in this trip anyways, since both these resorts are popular for pre-/post-cruise stays. We just passed our way-too-expensive RT-PCR tests at the local health provider. The tests have to be completed within 24 hours of our 1st flight, which leaves from Spokane tomorrow morning. Just yesterday, Air Tahiti Nui and Tahiti Tourisme published the updated rules that remove the requirement for a PCR test. Now you can go to FP with either an antigen or a PCR test. Antigen tests cost way less than a fast PCR test. Unfortunately, by the time I found out about this, all of the antigen test appointments around Spokane were already booked. So I had to go with the already booked, expensive PCR test. "In for a penny, in for a pound" Now it's time to finish packing.
