  1. I understand that RF had a free oceanview certificate. I have had free balcony certificates whereby they would not allow me upgrade and utilize promotions and diamond plus discounts. Not sure what the difference would be whether it be a free inside, ocean, balcony statement or $500 off certificate I would have thought combinations of discounts would have been the same, but consistency in treatment is not how casino royale operates.

I sure hope with the new program the rules are spelled out and combinations of discounts are consistent.

She wasn't using a certificate, I believe she stated it was one of the email offers for a Casino event, they probably have more flexibility with those sailings. I'm sure the time of year and number of staterooms available also has a lot to do with what they can offer, as well as many other factors including amount of play, number of players in the stateroom, frequency of travel, etc.

  2. Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum, and new to cruises—I'll be going on my first cruise on 4/30 out of Miami on Royal Caribbean (Enchantment of the Seas). I've done my best to research and answer my own questions, but still have a few things I'm hoping you all can help me with.

I'm very interested in the perk that gets the 5% casino convenience fee waived.

It seems like the only way to get this perk is to have Club Royale status. My understanding is that the Club Royale program changed recently, and the qualification for status is to accrue 1000 points in the casino. Status in the program is indicated by a sticker on your SeaPass card, which grants you free drinks and the fee waiver when in the casino.

Does all that sound correct? Anything I'm misunderstanding or missing out on? Are there other ways to get Club Royale status?

    Given that:

Do you all know if it's possible to get the 5% fee waived without being in Club Royale?

Is there anyway to get the sticker on your SeaPass without having Club Royale status?

If Club Royale membership is the only way, I may try to go for that.

Can I get Club Royale status+perks while on my first trip, or is it only available on subsequent cruises?

Say, for example, I gamble enough to earn 1000 points on the first evening, will I get Club Royale and associated perks for the remainder of the cruise?

What is the rate that points accrue? I read on here that playing $5k in slots = 1,000 points, i.e. $5 = 1 point. What if I'm playing table games? Can be points be earned in other ways?

Sorry for the million questions. Thank you in advance for any help!!

Hi! When you reach 1,000 points on your upcoming cruise, you will receive the sticker which will qualify you for the 5% fee waiver and free drinks in the casino. I play slots, so can't answer how points are accrued on tables. Enjoy the cruise and good luck in the casino.:)

  3. Of course, I had to pay an upcharge but when you start with a "free" casino comped room, they just seem to work harder to get you every discount available when you want to upgrade it. On this one, they gave me D+ balcony discount, 30% NO REF DEP, CAS NO REF DEP (which looks like C&A non refundable deposit), Senior discount and YHP5-CASINO SLOTS (each of us got this casino discount even though NEITHER of us plays slots). Overall, this upgrade cost us $5297.72 which is a hell of a price for the Sky Loft Suite. The final price of the cruise ended up yielding a 61% discount. Even if we had not taken this all the way to Star Class, it would have been a great deal. The upcharge for going from an OV to a D6 balcony was only $318.

That is fantastic! Good for you!

  4. So, does that mean if I had 800 points on my last cruise, that I will get a sticker on my next cruise after 200 points? Thanks....

Currently, when you reach 1,000 points on a cruise, you qualify for free drinks on that cruise and the entire next cruise. The 800 points from your last cruise would not factor in for the free drinks on your next cruise under the current system.

  5. I talked with Club Royale today as my September cruise I didn’t get 1000 pts. We had booked Harmony for April 7 with the Casino so I asked would I get my sticker on April cruise? The answer was no but I would once I reach a 1000 pts. So cruise on CR But no perks in Casino to begin with. They also told me the tiers are supposed to be rolled out before the end of this month. Probably no new news here.

hmmm if the new program is rolled out by end of this month, according to the tier structure flyer that is floating around, if you had 2,500 or more cumulative from June '16-December '17, you should receive free drinks in the casino on your April cruise.

  6. Hi does anyone know if free drinks in the casino are included when us8ng an offer from URComped or should I get it by booking direct? If no any idea how many points or when I can get free drinks in the casino?

    Thanks in advance

It probably varies per cruise line, but for MSC sailings, urcomped's website states drinks are included in the casino. On Royal, once you reach 1,000 points, free drinks for remainder of cruise and entire next cruise...under their current program.

  7. Thank you ALL for your insight! Those of you who have been on Allure of the Seas, could you tell me if the CK has ample room between the tables? If anyone has pictures, that would be great. We are concerned about being so close to the next table that we can pick up the neighbors food and move it to our table. [emoji15]

We’ve noticed in some previous cruises that a restaurant tries to cram as many tables as possible and you feel claustrophobic.

    Thanks for your help!!!

Some of the tables for two on the Anthem are close together, but not the four tops. I am claustrophobic and had no problems in Coastal Kitchen even at the tables for two. I didn't feel claustrophobic in MDR either, but didn't enjoy the tables being so close together there. Coastal's tables for two have a tiny bit more room between them, but you may want to request a four top, if available.

  8. We had a certificate for a comped inside for an NCL cruise. We received an inside Bella cabin on the Divina (fair) and got upgraded to a wellness (large balcony). Without reaching 9999 points we were given certificate for free ov cabin based on table play. Thru urcomped/MSC we got ov on seaside, which got upgraded to auera balcony. Too great deals for free!! And we still have certificate for OV to use, and MSC invited us on a cruise with casino executives. We have only had positive experiences with URCOMPED and MSC casino staff

    Safe sailing

Fantastic, good for you! Thank you for responding.:cool::cool:

  9. Thanks for reporting back. Many if a few more folks report their experience, we will be able to see a pattern.

Was in a Spa Junior Suite on Anthem in October. Was able to make reservations 2 months in advance in Cruise Planner. Reserved several nights, liked it so much, asked to switch to Coastal for the other nights, they couldn't be more accommodating. Our waiter. Juan, was exceptional.

  10. Told 1000pts qualifies you for drinks next cruise last week. Told that cruise certificates can not be combined for same person. But if two different people can be combined.

Going on cruise next week with wife and plan on using her cruise card for slots (she does not gamble) so she will get future cc which we can combine. Anyone see a down side on this??

Will your wife be with you in casino? If not, I wonder what would happen when you hit a jackpot with her card in machine? :D:D:DNo idea, just trying to consider downside for you. Good luck!

  11. Thanks for the replies. Now I only play table games (mainly UTH). Am I right in thinking it's only slot play that awards points?

On my last cruise I knew of a small number of table players who were awarded the free drinks.

And yes, wife will go PAYG if we both have to buy.

You will accrue points with table play.

  12. Does anyone know at what level of play you get the sticker on your card that allows free drinks in the casino?

Trying to weigh up whether buying a drinks package is a good idea or not as most of my drinking shall be in the casino.

If I'm at a level where I will get the sticker, is there anyway I can just buy my wife a drinks package and not me?

It's been a few years since my last Royal cruise. Have the wine packages dissapeared.

I'll be on The Anthem is July if that has any baring on the answers and am booked through Mlife as a gold member who earnt their tier points playing in Vegas.

I received the sticker on Anthem in October at 1,000 points and was told it qualified me for free drinks for the remainder of that cruise and the entire next cruise as well. Good luck in the casino!

  13. I just wanted to give you an upgrade on the points required on board to receive a Free Cruise Certificate or Cruise Discount.

    Thank you, gkbiiii!

  14. Thanks. Still wondering if the certificate holder can’t go, can the second person in the cabin go solo? I know this can happen when one has paid full fare.

If I remember correctly I read the certificate holder, or person to whom the offer is made, has to be present, but I agree with the previous poster, I would call Casino Royale, can't hurt to ask.

  15. Just finished our 2nd MSC cruise thru URCOMPED. It is a great deal. Free=free. No port charges, taxes or administration fees (unlike NCL). It's only a $200/pp deposit which turns into onboard credit . $2.50 to earn a credit in the casino-they are a fair casinos without wins held against you. Now we get offers from MSC too

If you need a MSC or URCOMPED contact person, just let me know

    Safe sailing

Hi Spidybabe, Thanks for the info, have a couple of questions if you would be so kind. I understand we need to send URCOMPED copies of our offers from other cruise lines. Would a balcony offer on NCL or RCCL, for example, typically equal a balcony on MSC? Based on the $2.50/point, do you know approximately how many points MSC requires to comp an inside, oceanview, and balcony? Thank you.

  16. Who was your Cruise Director and how did you like him? Who is currently the captain? Did you fly? ;) (iFly) Did you like it? Did you do any specialty dining? Did you eat in the Solarium Bistro?

Welcome home to the snow. :D

I did iFly on Anthem on our Oct cruise. First, your group goes into a small room to watch a quick video and learn hand signals because you will not be able to hear the attendant once inside iFly. When it was over, I looked around and said "I can easily be talked out of this!!!". Proceeded upstairs and was last to go in our group, kept looking at the exit thinking to myself "I'm just going to make a run for it" :D ... so scared, I thought I would throw up once inside. Decided not to run and I'm soooo glad I did it. I LOVED it. Will do it again next year. It only lasts a minute, but really fun experience.

  17. Hello all

So many Threads on here ask and talk about the "Upgrade Fairy" .... so ... here is our story...

    Indeed the Upgrade Fairy Exists.

We were booked into a GS with Large Balcony on Anthem of the Seas Departing December 2nd 2017. On Wednesday Morning the 29th we received an Email from AN GOTL 02.

The email was from the Royal Genie introducing himself and had lots of information regarding our upcoming cruise on the 2nd. I went to my Cruise Planner and saw nothing to indicate an upgrade or any other messages. Then I noticed our cabin number had changed. So thrilled. Don't know how we got so lucky.

To try and answer some of the common questions:

-We are Platnum, will be Diamond after this cruise.

-Booked the cruise on the phone with RC direct.

-Booked on October 26th of this year. Only about 10 weeks before the cruise.

-We do have in our cruise planner checked that it is ok to Auto Upgrade us.

-Have cruised with RC 5 times previous.

    - 3 regular balconies, 1 Jr Suite, and 1 Crown Loft Suite on Oasis.

-about 10 days ago the only cabins left to book on line were about 6 of this type of Suite or larger. (even thought about calling to see how much to upgrade but never did)

-No special occasion or celebration booked on the cruise.

-Neither of us are affiliated or work in the travel industry in any way.

-I am 50yo and my parter is 40

-We had the Deluxe Beverage Package and 3 nights specialty dinning booked already. One quick call, about 10mins with RC and they gladly refunded both payments. I fully expected to be told no or offered an on board credit. I would have been fine with either. I kind of felt bad calling, didn't want to seem ungrateful, but it never hurts to ask.

-We had no other call, or email. In fact the email from the Royal Genie didn't even mention that we had been upgraded. It was clearly the boiler plate email that goes to guests just before the cruise giving them facts and info, welcoming them aboard.

So, there you have it. Still does happen every now and then. How we got so lucky I have no idea, but I sure know we are going to enjoy the heck out of this cruise now... not that we wouldn't have anyway. ;)

    THANK YOU RC

    Leo

    Congratulations! Enjoy every second.

  18. Wow, I'd like to thank all of you who posted snarky responses to my honest question. Thanks for making me feel welcome here.

Glad most of you who responded AREN'T going on this cruise. Geezzz....

I hope you will go on the cruise and have a wonderful time. Personally, I wouldn't cancel. I agree with you though about the comments. I'm new to cruise critic and can't believe how uncivilized and rude some of the responses are to questions seeking advice. Thanks for the reminder to treat others the way you want to be treated. :)

  19. When booking after final payment, the price on Royal's Webb is the price, meaning, there are no special discounts with CR that I know of when booking after final payment.

If there's still many cabins left after final payment Royal will drops the prices on those cabins and if there's only a few cabins left in specific categories, Royal will sometimes raise the prices after final payment. Some disadvantages of booking after final payment will be the location of cabins selection and maybe only certain categories are available.

If you're interested in a specific sailing or stateroom you should book when Itineraries are just released.

    Gotcha. Thanks again. :)

  20. I think if all depends on the sailing and how full it is. It could go either way. However, we no longer get casino rates AND a certificate. If we use a certificate it's off the regular RCI rates and any promos they have at the time.

Ok thanks. I thought I had read if a certificate was used it was off full retail, wasn't sure if that changed after final payment was due but makes sense that it would depend on vacancies. This is all new to me. Thanks for your patience with my questions. :)

  21. Happy holidays to you and Barb :D

Nick don't get me started with CR daily/weekly/monthly changes :o:o:o

I've started booking cruises now after final payment and I've stop playing now once I reach 2400 points. We have 3 more 12 night sailings in the next 2 1/2 months :o I'll have to pace myself in the casino 😟.

CR is well aware they are losing players, even some of their high rollers.

Hi Linda, Thank you for posting the lists. When booking after final payment with a $500 cruise certificate, is the price Casino Royale uses as a base then typically lower than the full retail price because it's after final payment?

  22. I think I'm also done with Casino Royale. I would like to mention several things.... Just off Harmony with 26,000 points and I got certificate for limited list for whole 2018 year for comp balcony or 1k off. Today I called to book Allure on next Thanksgiving week and was told Junior Suite need to pay extra almost 2K (JS for 2 people cost $4,815) and for balcony cabin extra $900 ...What????? Cannot believe ..... but CR said if I am going week before Thanksgiving then Balcony will be comp. I never ever got offeres like it --- always was JS or Balcony comp any weeks of the year.

Also there is no more casino rate .... $$$ from certificate substructed off regular RCCL rate

Wow! Could it be the Corporate Office hasn't received a copy of your certificate yet showing the 26,000 points? This sounds like a job for Mark's TA. :) I would continue up the chain of command asking what is the point of investing so much time and money if you're only going to receive a comp equivalent to 4,800 points.
