Really appreciate your encouraging words! Do hope we have a chance to embark ship even though a slim one! I have been working furiously to come up with a contingent plan! It is nice of some of you to offer alternatives and encouragement! Our NCL flight is with a minor airline and not cheap($1100). Trying to book another flight with a major airline! At this late date it’s difficult to find anything reasonably priced! NCL is also not refunding us on our cancelled flights! We’re unable to fly in early either as one of us has to work on the day before! Routing through other airports is complicated too as Trieste is not major travel hub! Unfortunately we will have to stick with the same flight itinerary!!! It’s comforting to hear NCL may hold ship for late passengers! Besides, there may be other passengers in the same boat!!! If we miss ship, we’re prepared to fly, bus, train to Split(next port of call). But it is irresponsible to offer no help/ignore our poor flight predicament. Yes, I’ll try to post here about what happens to us! Thank you for your good wishes! Appreciate your sympathy! Hoping for the best!

Thank you for constructive comments. Will take a chance on NCL with existing flight schedule as some of you have suggested. Hope lucky stars are over our night flight! I guess some prayers may help! In case moon, stars are not aligned over the nite sky, we’ll fly to Split ( the next port) to meet ship. I do appreciate your positive suggestions and kind encouragement. I’ll start with keeping my fingers crossed now!

Thank you for your input! It’s all aboard at 2:30pm. Sail time is 3:45pm. Of course they have reason/option to change the embarkation time but they also have responsibility to get passengers with booked flight and transfer onboard ship in timely manner! How can they neglect and refuse to make appropriate arrangements for passengers on their existing flight/transfer? Sorry they may incur extra expenses but it’s their fault and responsibility, IMO, to rectify the situation. The existing flight schedule is definitely creating impossibility to meet ship scheduled departure!

We have booked Norwegian flight and transfer for our July 3 cruise from Venice(Trieste)to Barcelona. Norwegian has recently revised its embarkation time to 2:30pm. Our flight is scheduled to arrive Venice at 11:40am and then a bus transfer of 2 hours to Trieste. They are not modifying our flight to accommodate their earlier embarkation time!!! How do they expect us to have seamless connection and timely arrival by 2:30pm at Trieste terminal? Obviously they don’t care if we miss the ship! I tried to talk and reason with Air Dept but in vain! They refused to let me speak to higher authority! They said management can’t take call! Is that good customer relation! I am disappointed and annoyed with the whole situation! They refused to do anything! They will not let us cancel cruise without penalty! They are not rebooking our flight( which is simple and easy for Norwegian). Will try to see whether I can book a new flight myself within such short time frame!!! Lesson learned - never trust or book flight and transfer with Norwegian!

Our July flight to Venice is from EI (Aer Lingus) from JFK to Dub to VCE and inbound from Vueling and EI, Bar to Dub to JFK. Anyone has experience on these airlines?

Thank you for good suggestions. Trying not to incur hotel stay(3 person in room seems impossible) and keep NCL transfer on same flight day. Do realize it’s best to arrive day early.

Family of 3 on NCL Escape in July flying in from NY and will also NCL will transfer to cruise ship in Trieste. Is that a risky schedule! Chances of missing ship high? Anyone can relate their experiences?

Is it better deal to prebook or ok to get onboard, especially don’t need for full duration of cruise. A few days will suffice for emails and checkin with family! Is there daily pricing? How much? Thank you for suggestions.

We’re sailing on Solstice Dawes Glacier Cruise in August from Seattle. Wondering whether any past cruisers on similar itinerary traversing the inside/outside passages this year had sightings of whales/wild life? Is it necessary to book a whale watch tour? My granddaughter will be disappointed if not seeing some sea life, esp. whales!
