Just booked Explorer 2 for October in an outside cabin, which sleeps upto 4 people. I'm going to call to reserve a cabin close to lifts in a central location on deck 9 or 12. Ideally I would like a picture window (instead of a porthole) and one without folding down beds on the wall (brochure says some have fold down beds or a sofa bed). Don't suppose anyone has stayed in one and can offer any advice or will the team at Tui have this information when I call?

Just got back from Discovery. I think opening times were 08:00 - 20:00. There are stretch / abs classes from 7am and a cycle / yoga class a couple of times a day at a £7.00 charge. 

I took my gear and trainers, never made it to the gym though. Someone mentioned the indoor pool is open 24 hours,  didn't make that either. 

Hope you are more motivated / dedicated than me 😊

Someone else will post if I've got any info wrong.

kevinyork.... Unfortunately, due to 2 broken metatarsals, we won't be able to do the planned trip to Rome on the Express To Rome (done twice before) or Rome On Your Own. Did think of doing the easy on the legs trip but think will stay local. So looks like a shuttle bus / taxi.

Evening. How close is Civitavecchia to the port and is it a nice place to visit (did a quick search of what to do there and sounded quite good). Is it just a short taxi ride away? Cheers.

As you say you are so looking forward to your cruise. I totally understand your frustration with said travel agent. Of course you will have a fabulous cruise, just think of the sail away! Happy days...:cool:

Sorry my fingers didn't type what I was thinking, of course out to Malaga return from Naples.

What are your thoughts on the seats?

We are flying form Birmingham, same cruise as you so fly out to Malaga and back from Malaga at 11:45am.

I called Tui last week to reserve a cabin. I asked how much to upgrade to the twin window seats at the front of the plane and they confirmed it was the price I could see online of £25.00 per person. I'd already paid £32.00 to select your seat so only had to pay an extra £9 per person.

That's an absolute bargain (I knew premium seats were expensive so I just thought website had logged the wrong price) as I checked how much to upgrade on one of their Caribbean long haul flights in December and it's £399 each.

I love the airport experience and now can't wait for the flight :D

Thanks dronnygirl. I daren't risk doing train on my own. I'd worry too much in case they were cancelled. Think I will just have to decide between train or coach with the ships excursions.
