Been to Rome a few times on Rome Express train.

Ideally I want to wander round so choice is between Rome On Your Own (don't fancy 1.5hr coach journey each way) or do Rome Express but do own thing once in Rome (ah but they might refuse that with trips being guaranteed for departure so might not be an option anyway).

On this forum I've read lots of people say trains are very unreliable if you want to make your own way there.

Anyone got any helpful advice or will it just be coach or do the trip on the train?

FYI out of curiosity I searched cruise flying from Manchester on 8th November. This is on Dreamliner and for the same price too.

I then searched a Caribbean cruise flying from Birmingham on 16th December and to upgrade to Premium Club is £399 per person.

Strange but very, very true.

It was one of the reasons for me choosing this cruise.

Oh and price is correct too.

Just called to reserve cabin, luckily one I'd decided on was still available.

I then asked advisor about seats. She confirmed rows 1 - 7 were twin seats by the window, and she could reserve for me at an additional cost of £9.00 each as 'd already paid for Select A Seat.

The Premium price seems to refer to Caribbean cruises only.

I'm very happy that I've reserved cabin I wanted and have reserved twin seats for £25 each.

Thank you the tip that row 7 doesn't have a window, so booked row 5.

My cruise in November has flights on Dreamliner. I've paid for Select Your Seat. On looking at the seating plan I can see twin window seats at the front of the plane. I take it I would need to upgrade to top option below. Will this then allow me to select seats straight away? Will I be guaranteed a twin window seat or could it be in the middle section? I don't want to pay for the upgrade if there is no guarantee of the twin window seats.

Now for my second post / question.

I booked this cruise as I like going away in October but spotted this one beginning of November that was a really good price. Also flights are on the Dreamliner and instead of usually flying out to Palma, Palma is part of the itinery along with my faves of Rome and Barcelona.

I want to go the cathedral at Palma and the old town. Is it best to just get a taxi? How long will it take to get there and how many Euros?

Any advice / recommendations greatly appreciated.

Been lurking for a while on this wonderful Thomson forum (I mean Tui, no Marella!!).

My first question is how long before departure can you reserve seats on the plane? Is it 3 months?

I'm booked on Heores Of The Med this November on Discovery 1. Slightly worried as it's the last Med cruise, hope they replenish stock as normal. Also, was on a final cruise of season on Dream. There was lots of refurb work taking place with quite a bit of noise and disruption.

Of course I'm sure it will all be fine and as usual will have a fab time.
