I don’t think you are weird, just in the minority. Most passengers probably prefer to have their key card or medallion with them.  I may be in the minority as we don’t spend all our time together, even in port, especially since only one of us is interested in scuba diving.

Unless you intend to carry a laptop and try to use the web-based version of the app, no you have no way to use the app onboard.

Apps are designed for use with mobile devices. I’m not certain that the web-based version would even be useful onboard.

Thank you!   You assured me I have no need for the app.  I will stick with weird.  I am on my laptop during the Super Bowl.  I do stop to watch the commercials.  My husband has personally been to 20 Super Bowls.  Now it is cheaper to cruise.  Opposites do attract.  He took heads on the toss and won.

I find a medallion much more convenient than a key card since I can wear it on a wristband during the day. I don’t have to worry about it being lost like I do when I cruise other lines. I hate having to hope a keycard stays safe while I swim or exercise, especially in port. That benefit has nothing to do with the app.

    .

So, I know I am weird.  My husband carries my key card in a folder from some cruise line.  Each card is in its own sleeve so both can be scanned without removing them.  And, I am weird.  My driver's license is also in his wallet.  I seldom have a purse with me.  We did buy the watches for our Princess medallions and use them.  But, half the time mine ends up in his pocket.

So, can I do anything with this app if I do not have a cell phone?

  3. I haven't figured out a purpose for the medallion other than opening my door and getting off and on the ship - the same as a key card.  Whenever I order a drink, they ask for my cabin number.  I make dining reservations on my laptop.  I do not have a cell phone.  I travel with my husband and I always know where he is if he is not next to me.  I like to hold the daily schedule in my hands and highlight what I am interested in.  Menus are on the TV.  What does the medallion do that I am missing?  Does it do anything if you do not have a cell phone?

Big rectangular room.  Escalators on both ends.  Green lane is on the far right by that escalator.  Blue lane is in the middle so if you check in at the larger numbers, escalator on the right would be closer.  If you check in at the smaller numbers, you are closer to the escalator on the left.  You can use either escalator.  You could even go to the ship and then switch lines.  Entrances are not that far apart.  You have no opinion as to which person checks you in.  It is just the next available.  Handicap is on the far left near an elevator.  Maybe suites check in there, too.  I did not notice.  Only noticed the handicap because of all the wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters.

The Caribbean Princess does not have smaller separated dining rooms.  On the Diamond, they did add walls to separate the main dining rooms on deck 5 and 6 midship.

They have 3 separate main dining rooms.  Maybe they are not small?

Yes. The Cobb salad is good. I had it once with salmon. DH had it once and was very disappointed...not his idea of a Cobb salad.

I did say it was not a (really} traditional Cobb salad.  It did have egg which they seem to miss on other salads.  Maybe they should call it something else.  I could still eat it almost every day.  And I always skip the chicken or salmon.  I like a good salad and this could be my favorite.  The other memorable one was the chicken salad at the Elite/Platinum lounge.

Ahhhh I think that’s what I had it confused with..the “concierge” lounge.

I’m a first-time platinum, so..just learning to “be cool”. I’ll definitely stop by the PES lounge tommorow..I was hoping they had cocktail shrimp..yes, I’m that guy, haha.

Menu is different every night.  We never had shrimp.  Sushi, Greek Salad, Mexican, spring rolls.  My favorite was the chicken salad.

  8. On the Discovery we booked a table for 2 at 6:20 in the same dining room each night prior to the cruise.  We did not verbally request the same table each night.  We never sat at a repeat table and only had a repeat waiter one time.  We had breakfast in the MDR every morning within 15 minutes of it opening.  Again, always at a table for two.  Never a repeat table or waiter.  And never at a table in the sections we sat in at night.  We had no complaints about any of the tables nor any of the waitstaff.  Most breakfasts we would get a window table.  We never did at night.  We expect the same thing to happen on the Majestic.

If you click on Countries &Territories, it provides a list of the 330 countries currently in the world.  There are 7 listed for Antartica.  Rules state you do not have to spend a night in the country, but you do have to step foot on land.  If your plane stops to refuel and you do not get off, it does not count.  If you have a port call and you do not get off the ship, it does not count.  They do not count a drive-by as actually being there.  This is the list and rules I follow.  Just an fyi if somebody wants to count number of countries they have been to.
